Law / IT department (computer programming) - Opening up an Office/Business in Poland [53]

Wroclaw, Poznan, Gdansk and Warsaw would all be OK

I would skip Warsaw, the major choice in my opinion should be between major non-Warsaw aglomerations like Tri-city, Wrocław etc. and 2nd rate cities like Bydgoszcz, Szczecin etc. If the scale is small and job not very demanding, they could even think about places like Gorzów, Zielona Góra or Opole.

T0bias, if you are genuine (delphian is really capable of talking to himself) please provide more details about this project.

isn't there a full service agency that helps me create the business and settle over there for a fee (find office space, find apartments, posts job postings, does translations etc.)

If the scale (measured in number and quality of jobs) a lot of that could be done by local authorities in case of some cities...

Real Estate / Foreign investor, properties in Poland, walk away from mortgages? [209]

I think this is all BS and if I could i would leave the mordgage today, unfortunately in Poland there is no way to get rid of this loan

Why "unfortunately" ?

The same goes to mordgage payments even though the payments go up 40% for some reason they will pay it, in stead of go out on the street and say hej, this is pure BS we got the loan but something is wrong we do not want to pay it this high.

LOL ! What do you think then would happen with this debt ? Would it disappear ? No really, someone else would have to pay it back. Please tell me why others should pay back debts, which are not their own ?

Really?

Gdańsk has been identified by KPMG as one of 31 (8 in Europe) most attractive emerging destinations for IT investments in the world, I guess you know better then :))

Then again - what would you know?

:)

Perhaps for people that don't leave their village, yes.

Hmm not sure what you mean but for a person, who has any idea about such issues, It is obvious that what really matters in the process of selecting location for a new IT office, is availablility and quality/cost ratio of relevant workforce, office space, telecommunication/energy infrastructure.

Work / Salary and cost of living information - Krakow [257]

I got 13000 PLN gross offer?

Monthly I guess ? It's over 3 times average salary... so you should get the idea... on the other hand average salary in Poland means poor... Is it good offer or not, It obviously depends on kind of position, how much experience you have etc.

13000 gross should be around 9000 net.

And yes, we laugh at those peasants, because they had exactly the same opportunity as we had. And they blew it.

Facinating. Do you realize there are at least hundreds thousand of people, who could laugh at you and call you a peasant ?

News / Polish Domination by Germany [69]

Without Germans, Greeks would have to take up begging in streets of European cities long ago.

Without Gerries no one would be supid enough to lend them all that money in the first place thus we would avoid all the mess.

Where Gerries would built a highway, decent express road will be enough, where Frogs would have TGV, Pendolino (in the future something similar designed and made in Poland) will be enough. We shouldn't copy bankrupted losers cathing up to outdated industrial era concepts. We should look beyond 2030, see what's there and get prepared, so in 20 years we will jump straight into top global league skipping whole decades in many areas.

Delphi gets angry because he would like to asap travel to Warsaw at +300km/h, so he can meet there Harry and they can spend the evening convincing each other how super duper upper class expats they are, laughing at "Poland B peasants", who can't afford TGV, to make themselves feel better, I am rather more focused on long-term progress of this country, pouring more concrete into the ground might be needed in some cases but It shouldn't be the main element of the strategy, we should rather focuse on trully informatio era concepts.

Let's face it - you don't like it because your people wouldn't be able to afford it. It's that simple.

OK, you are right, let's leave it at that :)))
