UK, Ireland / Ive been in the UK for 6 days to relocate and im going back to Poland. [281]

I get some but I think just for being foreign. I'm a whitey so I don't get so many. There are rudzielcy here too :)

Geez, I thought I was in Africa or China this last week. In the areas I walked through, there were more Africans than pure Scots, I kid you not. Aberdeen attracts those that want a sniff of the oil/gas profits.

I will continue on this thread later today but let's not let a good thread die.

Law / Problems with Polish Bureaucracy, residency [17]

He's well out of touch with the reality here, Delph. There are different stages needed to put a company together but they are just step by step and hardly onerous.

History / Poles back to the Elbe (Łaba)? [28]

JK is a homophobic and foolish clown. Stalin and Hitler were madmen who have riled Poles for decades for what they did. I see them for what they were, insane. We don't need a yappy little dog stoking up old embers. Germans and Russians moved on (Germans more so), so so can he :)

History / Poles back to the Elbe (Łaba)? [28]

Certain Poles shoot themselves in the foot by showing imperialistic tendencies of their own. In case it had escaped your notice, conquering was rife at the time and is now an integral part of European history. Why should the GDR have been ceded? That's a ridiculous thing to say!

Food / Carp -- Queen of Rivers or Pig With Fins? [10]

Exactly! I don't think Jesus was feeding the 5000 with carp, do you? It is fatty, disgusting and has huge sword-like bones. One of the worst fish out there.

Life / The "Rudification" Of Society - Is This Happening In Poland As Well? [146]

Right, Natasa! Yet such a basic mistake. I have the same take on religious aspects and faith. I can see the merits of different faiths and I don't feel the need to be like Terry Jones and propose any burnings. Muslims have their faith and they shouldn't be lumped in with the radicals. Deep-rooted misunderstandings have demonic potential :( :(

Love / Do Polish girls like playing with men's feelings on internet? [52]

He's maybe from Hungary where it's one long sentence ;) ;) Seriously though, I've heard many stories from Polish guys on this one. It's one long headf*ck if you excuse my French. Many Polish women can flip or lose interest at the drop of a hat and they make Syd Barrett (RIP) look positively stable. I thought girls were supposed to mature quicker but it just remains to be said that some play those games and some don't. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

News / Crash of Tu-154 at Smolensk-North--could it have been a bomb in the Polish plane? [233]

When is it due?

Really, are Poles that bored that they have a 6 months memorial as opposed to waiting for the anniversary next April? There is going to be a Russian propaganda film tonight on TVN at 22.05. They want Poles to see their side but Poles will take a long time to really believe their version of events.

It is indeed! I'll get a pension eventually but any hint of me having to pay for sth trivial and I'll not be best pleased. Around 560PLN of the 840 goes on health insurance. Plus, the UK has a reciprocal agreement anyway which I claimed on back in 2005. I'd be as well be dropping my notes down the drain.

Life / The "Rudification" Of Society - Is This Happening In Poland As Well? [146]

What makes things worse here is that I have to pay 840PLN ZUS every month. The assumption is that I am wealthy due to having my own firm. That's not the case, it was a convenience arrangement to suit Profi Lingua, my ex-employers. I kept it on as I can claim many things back through invoices. Still, the tax lowering doesn't recoup the losses.

Yes, they charge me 5 PLN for every withdrawal I make when using their machines. They impose surcharge after surcharge for handling my account. They swiped money from an account that we clearly told them that was to remain open but inactive. They said they wouldn't deduct from it. I made one switch across to that account as it was cheaper to do so and then they swiped 5 months worth of handling fees in a oner. They also offer no interest worth speaking about. I can imagine people getting ruder with such sharks. They are a bunch of bandits that only con people.

I'd agree with the governments and banks part, Seanny, but I really feel that the multinationals have yet to really bite here to a significant extent. Millennium Bank, for example, are pure schysters and they must get the goat of many Poles. Swiping occurs all too readily. The government is gonna exacerbate this by upping VAT. Most Poles are not earning sufficiently more to warrant such swicking.

Spot on! As Seanny said, I support different policies within different parties and am not blind enough to support one party across the board. I can see why rudification is happening more and more. It takes sth special to be nice oftentimes and one is pushed towards being rude on occasions where we are vulnerable or irritated.

Post 8 from aphro is the best here. Let's forget about the label slapping, that him from the 'Right' did that or her from the 'Left' said that. Politics is one big scrap and people will be how people will be independently of that.

Poles will have seen how the other half live and they will want to emulate their 'achievements'. The problem is, there are winners and losers in that game and rudeness emerges from both.

It's still on the go! :) Many chavish Poles went across early days in a kind of 'let me out of here' mad surge. Then more intellectual people saw chances for themselves. I can't see why people are attacking the OP. I'd be gutted too were some prejudiced folk to come across and criticise me for having red hair. There are enough morons amongst the locals already, we don't need more!

There was still no call for what they said to the guy. It's simply not on to start ganging up in numbers in a foreign country and shouting stuff like that. The OP just got unlucky. Many idiotic Poles went across and are not doing their nation proud but they exist unfortunately.

Come on, it's hardly 'noimmigration' writing. He was the victim of racial abuse and from relative newcomers. He is right to say that! I don't go around dishing out derogatory remarks here like 'wow, you dumb Polaks, get back to the motherland, Russia' as it would just be flaming and wrong in different ways. I also don't make reference to my skin colour either. I am whiter than most Poles but so what? Some people just need to grow up and respect their guest status.

News / Poland hosts lowest proportion of foreigners in the EU [115]

Oh, I've just seen the thread. I thought I was on the religious one.

Poland hosts the lowest proportion of foreigners? Romania would have drifters I guess but surely Poland isn't the most homogeneous.

If you can't apply the principles taught in church in real life, ESPECIALLY in Catholicism where priests and Pope are intermediaries carrying the word of God, what's the sense in teaching them? This separation bollocks is overstated. Inculcate and infuse as is a tenet of Catholicism. Good works is one separating postulate from Protestantism. Try applying that and never mind this secular bull.

I think I can only take one position, M-G. His actions were inflammatory and downright wrong. If we really knew the extent to which Western media, in all their inifinite boredom, spin yarns then there can only be one stance. It was contemptible and he should have known better. However, I feel that it is being used as a tool. Not surprisingly, Obama came out and denounced it. Muslims will feel better as a result. Constant engineering!
