By the Soviets. He bargained in good faith, had come to a compromise, and they back pedalled and renegged on the offered compromises. But then again, he wasn't exactly bargaining from a strong position, now was he. Who held all the chips? Posession being 9/10ths of the law and all.

There were 35 member of the PZPR for every single Soviet soldier in Poland.

Technically not Busia day. That would be a "Busia and Ja-ja" day.

Labor Day is a holiday observed on the first Monday in September (September 3 in 2012) that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers. Pretty strange that a capitalist bastion like the US of A would celebrate a day dedicated to workers. Sounds pretty socialistic to me. In Canada we have something similar, but we call it Labour Day.

Just a fair warning to those who would partake. I personally don't want to get somebody elses cold, hepatitis or what ever other transmissible bugs they may have.

Take this bit of advice as a warning or as common sense as it could be applied to any other venue where snacking is permissible.

Take Costco for example... any samples they give out is served in / on one time use paper / plastic cups. Simply for hygeine purposes.

WTF! No wonder people make fun of Polaks and no wonder Hitler

How did Hitler come up in a discussion about the opening of a food store?

I'll think twice about shopping there now.

I bet you double dip with the tooth picks anyway. No great loss.

I have seen it myself in the Starsky's in Mississauga - both of them. I refuse to partake unless the platter comes out fresh from behind the counter.

Life / Why is Polish Christmas on the 24th? [87]

We celebrated a mixed traditions Christmas this year. A wigilia dinner last night, no meat, but a little wine, and let the kids open a few presents. Had some visitors over, and more wine.

Today, balance of the presents, a nice brekkie. Roast beef dinner and finished the wine, then some more.

But the Polish side of the tradition is a lot more traditional, IMO.

my family-in-law have reused present bags for 3 years now.

Funny, we have on that is on the 6th appearance, best we could all remember!

Feedback / PF logo - color turned black today - Nice touch, Admin [29]

Admin was thinking of a Yellow "Poland" banner and Blue "Poland" banner. He couldn't make up his mind and decided to force them to intermarry. The by product was a Green "Poland" banner. Soon the whole world will be green.

the thread is not on what I have done.. so I dont really feel like discussing personal things.

But the thread would die a quick death if it wasn't put in context. The idea of making whoopee in public spaces (IMO) isn't exactly black and white. In an area where you could be discovered by Children, not cool. In an area where you could be discovered by adults, maybe not / maybe cool, depending on your personal comfort level with it all. In an area where you are virtually guaranteed to complete the act in complete privacy? Hell ya! Go at it!

why not screw in the pool too

Leaving "residue" in a public area where sanitation is a concern is not cool.

Patrycja, I agree with most of what you are saying. I too have a couple of young kids which I wouldn't want them exposed to that nonsense.

My question was not meant to infer you would enjoy said activities in front of a public audience. For the record, my example took place in an extremely secluded area, far, far away from prying eyes, so I would like to think that I am not quite the sick puppy you now feel that I have become.

So a Chinese guy came to America with his bride, and has kids in America. His kids marry other folks of the same lineage, and so do their kids. Are you denying they might just be ethnically Chinese?

I think the lady got a pretty good deal provided both males are hetero-, or bisexual.

So when one of them dies (after a long and happy marriage) do the two remaining spouses get to collect death benefits, pension benefits etc? Would they be eligible to bring a different "third" into the union?
