Who is your favorite Polish-American musician?

My favorite would have to be Peter Steele (born Peter Thomas Ratajczyk) from the band Type O Negative. He died not too long ago unfortunately. He was a very funny guy. RIP Petrus.

Born in Buffalo New York which the last time i looked was in the good ol US of A and nowhere near Poland.

No **** he's American the topic is Polish Americans. We're talking about his ancestry/blood he's half German half Polish. American isn't an ethnicity.

If you lived in American u'd know that everyone who knows they are Polish identify as Polish being at least one of his/her ancestries. And Americans live and talk like Americans.

Every American first and foremost identifies as an American (unless brainwashed by his parents from an early age lol). He just knows his ancestry but doesn't live or act on it.

So he's not Polish then?

So a Chinese guy came to America with his bride, and has kids in America. His kids marry other folks of the same lineage, and so do their kids. Are you denying they might just be ethnically Chinese?

Yes they most certainly are. I have a few Irish American friends who are full Irish. So what if they're 3rd generation in America. Their grandparents then parents married people who were only of Irish background, they didn't mix that makes then full Irish.

And are you forcing their great-grandchildren to be ethnically Chinese especially if they can't hold a conversation in the language and have never been there? And did Marilyn Manson's Polish ancestor marry someone of what you quaintly call the same 'lineage'?

More pertinently, Does Marilym actually identify as Pol-Am or is someone just clutching at straws...

It's very relevant to the discussion, if a particular ethnicity is being attributed to a musician who is not part of that community.

And it is in the title of the thread, after all.

He shouldn't quit drinking I suppose.He died of heart failure after he quit drinking.
