Is that Irish for something ?

I'm assuming you're trying to say that I should have a moral objection to doing such a job ?

All of the Poles I meet would much rather work than claim Dole.

The problem is with other Nationalities who turn up and are totally unemployable. 'Asylum Seekers' in this country are mostly bogus and quite happy with benefits and a free house to build a huge family in.

Many of them are doing really poorly paid jobs (by UK standards), so I think they deserve to claim.

If there was a list of people that should be kicked out of the UK, the Poles would be near the bottom, along with the Chinese.

The way the UK is going, Brits may end up working in Poland in a decade or two!

After 3 years they can apply for Australian citizenship and claim all the benefits they want. Without ""having to pay taxes"" for 20 yrs or contributing in the past in any shape or form. Some would say that might be unfair.

It may be considered unfair if we hadnt established Australia in the first place. Those Australians really have a chip on their shoulder with regard to the British. They should show some God damn respect to their mother nation.

We live in Australia now and i do see large influx of Enlish ex-pats, having sold their english properties for a lot, coming here and buying regular Australians out of the market. After 3 years they can apply for Australian citizenship and claim all the benefits they want. Without ""having to pay taxes"" for 20 yrs or contributing in the past in any shape or form. Some would say that might be unfair.

If you live in Aus then you know about the points based system, you will know how difficult it is to go and live in Aus, you will know that it's mainly professionals or those with specific skills go to live in Aus (from the UK), ex pats dont spend all day working in crap jobs only to send half of the money back to England to support poor relatives either! As for claiming benefits, well, hundreds of British are coming back to Britain from Spain because of the economic climate, they are not looking for handouts off the Spanish government! Or pension tax credits or any of the other benefits that all the other foreigners in this country enjoy!

so I think they deserve to claim.

They don't deserve anything, they are free to exercise their rights to work here but I don't remember exercising their rights to claim benefits was supposed to be a deal breaker for those coming to work (whoops claim benefits) here.., same as I wouldn't expect to go and work in another country and think that I deserve something for nothing!

Mother Nation? Show respect? I think I know how your left arm got so big.

What tosh.

Brits coming back from Spain? Spend some time on the Spanish and French expat forums and you'll see how few speak Spanish or French. Or better, live there for a few years. If they are retired, they receive a British pension. Many ARE entitled to local benefits and claim through the nose. Do a google on "CMU" and BTW, many locals DO complain about the health system clogged up with

The Australian points based system wouldn't stop someone going on benefit once in the country with a residency permit. They don't even need to be a citizen.

BTW, there are PLENTY of UK expats in France and Spain claiming all the benefits they can. Some are still in the UK system while driving a French car (no road tax requirement) claiming their winter heating allowance, etc etc etc. Most read the Daily Mail too.

They worked here all their lives and they are entiled to a pension where ever in the world they are! What is your point?

You dont quite understand do you? Brits go out to Aus to WORK they have professions and are not scrotes, they probably never claimed a penny in benefits when in the UK so why travel half way around the world and change their living standards, going to Aus is about enhancing their way of life not dropping it!

Most read the Daily Mail too.

Middle class likely to change their car every 2 to 3 years and shop at Sainsburys or Marks Spencers :0) Not exactly the poverty stricken scrounging type!

claiming their winter heating allowance,

And that's wrong, but they are not sponging off their hoste country are they?

I suppose that the problem with speaking the most superior language in the world, you dont feel you need to speak another one ;0)

With what? Brits with HIV or Brits popping out babies 2 at a time after they've just landed in the country and not contributed one penny to the economy?
