you want to be very careful about dual nationality. If an Englishman marries a Polish woman and gets a Polish passport whilst living in Poland, then the British Embassy can not help you if you have a problem and get arrested by the Polish police, as just one example. Beware of dual nationality.

Thanxs for everyone's replies. I am at the moment doing some researches more about my situation. So if I go with my husband to England to live and work, for what visa must I apply for? When I come from South-Africa to Poland, what papers do I need to come back to Poland?

Can somebody please guide me through my problem

I am from Armenia and currently working in Germany. I love a polish girl who was here with me. She is in Poland (Warsaw) and we want to marry there. I can not stay there longer.

1. Can I go there and marry within say two weeks? If not possible, would it be possible if she starts with some processes till I reach there?

2. If I later move to Poland, to apply for the citizenship, will the period in which I have lived partially in Poland and partially in Germany be counted?
zion
24 Mar 2007 /  #128
no you can not marry in two weeks and after married you must live here for 3 years at least to get polish citizenship

24 Mar 2007 /  #129
Thanks zion

Can she not do some arrangements so that we can do things faster in a shorter time? No way out?

Is the 3 years counted in total or should it be continuous? I mean if 4 years married and 3 years together will it work?

How long it minimum take to finish with the marriage? Should I stay there during the whole process?

ok about the marriege it self ,you will need your birth certificate original traslate into to polish by a traslater in poland and i letter from your embassy saying you are not married back at your home country then you will need a interpreter to go with you to the marriege office with the birth certificate the traslantion , the letter pay the fee there and they will give you a date to get marry at least one month depends wich office you apply . afeter that you have to apply for the 2 years residence permit with that you can live and work in poland only and after 3 years you can apply to get a polish passport you can not stay more the few monthes out of the year out side poland .

Thanks again! I know much more now. Do they don't consider my passport as a birth certificate? And should I take an interpreter, even if my girlfriend is with me? What happens if I am more often out of Poland during the first 2 years? Will I get problem to extend the residence permit? (hope you don't get irritated)

zion, can I ask you where you are from?
zion
25 Mar 2007 /  #132
no they will ask for both your passport and your birth certificate , and yes my girlfriend was with me to but they will ask for a sworn interpreter , about staying out side poland after the 2 years residence permit you will have to apply for the permanent permit if they find out they you stay more out side poland then you should have then you may not get the permanent permit and only with that can you apply for the citizenship and I am from brazil

for the first year you can stay out side poland but for the last two you have limited time to spend out side so is not too simple to get the polish passport, you are ok to live and work in the UK , spain .and a number of other countries but not germany once you married with her right after the mariege what takes lets say 2 monthes to process the all paper work good luck and fell free to contact me for more info I also live in Warsaw . good luck with all

you are very kind & helpful. I already have a permit to stay and work in Germany. I was thinking of marrying her a bit later, when I actually want to move to Poland to live with her, but just that she wants it right now (ladies na). Do you know from which office in Warsaw could we get a sooner appointment for marriage. And once we are married, you told it could take at least 2 months to process the all paper work. Should I be there all the time during the process. Could she not go on with the rest without me? Because otherwise I have to tell her to wait at least a more year. :-)

Where could man get an interpreter? Any idea how much do they charge? Also about other fees which you mentioned.
zion
25 Mar 2007 /  #134
maybe in an office out side Warsaw small down but check in many offices as possible before you apply . you will be need on the day of the applycation , the waiting time to get a date for the cerimony is 30 days but depends how many people will get marry at the same time you will also office . you will be need here to get the embassy declaration and to apply then only on the day to get married , about fees for all and interpreters and the traslation of you birth certificate you can do it for about 300 euros . you can find then on the net ask you girl to look it for you becouse will be all in polish , if not i can send you some links of the ones I used .

Let me also Clarify .........Dont Think that Pakistanis,Indian and bangalis are after polish passport.
Before i had really liked polish poeple but after reading your comments about pakistanis i want to clarify...
Though i live in uk but i am from pakistan and being a political science and jounalism student i could strongly say we are atomic power and when we come to uk we are being paid highly but when polish come to uk they just do either cleaning ,prositution or constraction work.

So i am highly educated and pakistnis are well settled even they are memebers of uk parliment.
So pls don't say that pakistanis want to have polish passport just because they want to apply job or go to poland ha ha just for cleaning or contraction.

Pls don't think you are better than asian because you are in Eu now or you are white you actually have visited pakistan and indian so thats why you talking like this we do have strong living culture and far better than african countries but we would never say that they are bad.We like and love polish but can be insulted.

Why polish girls are going towards asians because first time in life they found Genuine lovers and best culturer society. What they have got in their society just selfishness, greed, money ,**** and being left alone in older age they are shocked when they have looked asian culture these smart sweet little girls want to go there and get rid of there society.

Pakistan India and China are the best countries plz open your eyes and check it.
Regards
Shahrukh Khan

So why are you studying in the UK then? I am not being aggressive, I'm just curious that's all

and being a political science and jounalism student

Now I am confused. In an earlier post you said you were doing IT? Which of us is losing his mind?:)

Mr szarlotka if have managed to get some education which i believe 90% of you don't then go to the history check why i am studying in uk.Who came first into sub-continent in early 1700-1947.

What was the condition of polish people before u were allowed to be part of EU.

If two of us get chance to be here in uk you will see your respect given by english men to you they would prefer me than you, believe me they treat you like slave.so don't be so smart you need ages to gain respect power like asians in uk.

So try to learn some think else apart from cleaning.

Mr szarlotka if have managed to get some education which i believe 90% of you don't

I have a first degree from Oxford, A masters from MIT and a MBA from a leading French business school so I guess I'm in the 10%.:)

What was the condition of polish people before u were allowed to be part of EU

You had better ask the Poles that question. A cursory look at my profile would reveal that I am English

Who came first into sub-continent in early 1700-1947.

And your point is? You stated that the sub continent and China were the best countries. I was interested to know why you chose to do your degree in my country. A simple question that you have not answered.
