It's all on the home office visas section website. Read this first and then navigate around the site. The key to it is not your status but your GF's in that she has to prove that she is 'settled' in the UK. Good luck - as long as this is genuine of course.

what shoul i do?

It is probably just as easy to get a tourist visa to either country. Since she is in the UK it probably makes sense to come here to see her.

Getting a tourist visa for the UK for an Indian citizen is easy. If you are looking for anything other than a tourist visa then things will be different. How long do you want to visit for?

To the "knob head" who mentioned rot about Indians and Pakisthanis. Let me tell you something. We Indians are much more educated, refined and well mannered than you poles in general. This I am emphasizing after visiting Poland. I personally do not have anything against the poles but I am well aware of my country's potential. So go and **** a cow, will ya?

Hi, I am a polish girl and I want to marry a Pakistani guy. We are both working and staying in UK. He has a valid visa for work (in uk) which finishes early 2009. We r planning to marry in November 2008. I just wanted to ask will he be allowed to stay in Britain as my husband after his visa expires and would he be allowed to work for NHS?

I really dont know whom should I ask this, please please help!

Might I suggest you ask the Home Office. To the best of my knowledge he wont neccessarily have the right to remain in the UK just because you got married.. and this would even apply if you were British. Also the fact that you are planning to get married just a few months before his visa expires will look very dodgy. I am no expert though, so I would advise you to contact Immigration for the exact laws on this.. otherwise you could be in for a nasty shock.... the best option would be for him to try and renew his work visa for a few more years.

solicitors are your best bet, they get updates from the home office, but do your own research becasue solicitors would want to charge you as much as they can...

Answer is simple - NO he will not be allowed to stay in the UK, suggest you both go and live in Poland - without sounding really racist - we have enough pakis coming over here without the Polish bringing them over too!

yes you want a polish gurl or any one who has european nationality for passport reasons... remmeber just becasue there is an influx of polish women and everyone is talking about them doesnt mean they are there for the taking....

thats a bit harsh.... but in general terms here shoul be a cap on immigration for only one reason.. problems of overcrowding.. this is affecting peoples lives living here...

There are no myths.

You get married in the UK with a Polish citizen and the marriage will be a valid marriage recognized all over the world, including in Poland (of course). Period. The marriage ceremony and required documentation is always as per the country where the ceremony takes place.

As for Polish citizenship, it won't be automatic, but should you decide you need it, it's pretty much a formality, albeit on occasion a lengthy one.

Some other comments here deal with non-EU citizens marrying a Polish (or other EU citizen) in order to get their residence papers and such. That's a different kettle of fish.

thats a bit harsh....

Just being honest Jareck -

In general Pakis will go back to pakistan and bring home a husband or wife then the whole 'chain immigration" starts wherein other family members will start to come to live in the UK - we just dont have the room here we are already over 60 million and thats not an exact figure - if Polish people want to marry people from these kind of countries then they should go and live in either in their country or go back to make a life in Poland and before anyone jumps on me about the whole EU things and that Polish people are legally allowed to work in the UK, then thats fine - but dont be bringing half of the 3rd world population here.

its very rational your thought as long as you are basing it on the idea that UK cannot accomdate additional people, the only thing to remember if the UK ouldnt thenthey wouldnt allow people from new EU countries in, the other point that can be raised is that those people who have entred the EU meet the 'stereo typical' view of a capitalistic european... dont get me wrong... there shouldnt be a question of race but a question of space..

if you look at how the brits wen tto already overcrowded india the soldiers evtually took their women and the chain continued.. immigration is a natural phenoomena but we should be able to control..
