szarlota, id love a geeorgian home too!

but you did an dyou know you did, made the right chice! your young and able only once :)

miranda, erm it varies. there are rip offs at 250,000k but you can find places from 125,000 to 175,000 if you look (and that is city centre prices so cheaper again for suburbs and further out)

it is expensive. which is why id recommend buying at least a two bed so you can rent out the otehr room :) this is the norm these days and is excellent way to halve a mortgage

and the price of london? have to be crazy buy a house there ......no?

not crazy, just very rich. I reckon house prices will be on the increase in Northern Ireland now. A mate of mine has a 4 bed house in Belfast that she bought for next to nothing about 15 yrs ago, she is now living in rented accommodation in London. If she sold the 4 bed house she might just about get a 1 or possibly 2 bed flat in a dodgy area of London.. that should give you some idea of the difference in house prices..

lets all move to Ireland.. the people are friendly, the Guinness is great and houses are still relatively cheap..and I didnt even mention the sexy accent.

Please note - buying irish land does not prevent Irish people not being able to afford irish homes, no no, that our government inability to enforce legislation already in place and to fulfil it promises on affordable housing. Pointer, its not the developers fault the government allows them take cash buyouts! its the government! Its the governments fault for not providing what it promised to the people of ireland (not just irish people )

Of course if fooking does you tool, economic 101 price rises to meet demand.

Foreigners and natives alike! Buy Irish! Please give all your money to the irish economey so that we may continue to sustain, develop and further nurture our economey!

Tools like you caused the property bubble. You are an absolute cretin. Fianna Fail gobshyte, you cannot even spell economy, never mind operate one.

There is a nice spot beside the wall for you, my boyo.

Bottem line, Foreigners Welcome! Government - im not voting for you!

You may not have voted for them, but you spread their propaganda for them. Tools like you do not deserve to be Irish.

It might help the smooth running of the Forum, if you read Rules 2 & 8.

Entitled to your opinion.

Im not FF by the way.
I have an Honours Degree in Business.
Work as a Tax Accountant the last 5 years.

Of course if fooking does you tool, economic 101 price rises to meet demand.

You failed to see the point of the paragraph. This is not a free market. You are regurgitating baby economics 101 yes. This is a mixed market - or 'open economy' and is subject to regulation by the authorities. As such, the govt controls price floors and ceilings etc. taxes on second homes, first time buyer grants etc.

So yes, it is the governements fault for not regulating correctly. They could and should have stopped the upward spiral - but greed was too tempting. Now we have the downward spiral and they cant stop it.

Tools like you caused the property bubble.

Fail. I do not own a house - I would not buy (and have not) with such ridiculous prices.

you spread their propaganda for them.

If you mean, foreigners welcome? Then yes of course!
Diversity is healthy - if it wasn't for the Central & Eastern Europeans coming to Ireland the past few years our boom would have happened sooner and sharper. Not to forget the passing trade that is tourism.

Unless Im mistaken, which I hope I am,you strike me as pseudo socialist (i.e. you think your left wing - the land for the people, up the 'RA', etc.) but the above comes across as ignorant and a racist (i.e. you think there is free market here and the land for the people....except foreigners).

Now, i've no doubt you'll reply some nonsense and insults so off with you.
I couldn't be arsed giving you anymore of my time.

I say goodday.

boom

boom to bust*
