I'm not sure that Russia thinks Poland, Ukraine etc. are their sisters and they are looking forward to punish them because of their short distances to USA.. USA and Russia start trying their powers one more time and it'll be not good for anyone..

STOP MEDVEDEV (should I said Putin , actually?)
STOP BUSH

let Poland decide on their own and don't play on them!!

Poland/Europe definately should be worried about Russia! Espescially Poland!! Russia is slipping out of democracy and wants to become a major power again. Their power will most likely firstly be aimed at it's old victims Poland and other Central and Eastern Europeans countries, secondly towards Western Europe and thirdly towards the United States. All NATO countries and democracies especially Poland and other Central and Eastern European countries must beef up their military to be able to respond to it!

Right on Celinski. Russia has no right to tell Poland whether or not she can put a missle defence system or anything else on Polish land. Russia doesn't own Poland.

Than you don't have right to tell us whether we can put our defence system in Kaliningrad region or not. Certainly we can and we should. Also we should build new pipe line Nordstream with our German friends.

You have the right to install the defence system, I agree. However, it is just posturing and in the name of being prophylyactic. There will be no attack on Poland. Russian inspectors were offered to come and have a look for themselves. It's all a game.

Yes, it is a game with Poland as a pawn. What will happen with Poland, if something goes wrong?

Go for It. Put there a thousand nuclear warheads. The more often you make idiots out of yourselves, the better.

Likewise.
Who's made idiots out of themselves so far?

Yes, it is a game with Poland as a pawn. What will happen with Poland, if something goes wrong?

The situation seems a dead end street. Poland has a choice:

1. Either become a Russian satellite again, thus remove the nuclear threat but decline economically and culturally.
2. Or remain an independent country which rejects Russian imperial advances. The cost will be a constant nuclear threat, but balanced by constant economic and cultural progress.

Which do you think Poles should choose? :):):)

Just give us a time. When the north stream will be built, you will entreat us for alliance. Am I right Pawian? It is much better to be in allance with Russians and with gas than to freeze independently in your apartments.

Ha ha by that time we'll be running on nuclear and you'll be back in the dark ages trying to sell your petrolium products to sexual deviants.

Nuclear plants? I know that coal has abnormally high levels of radiation, but cannot even imagine than polish technologies are so prominent to build nuclear plants working on coal.

This is the future my Russian friend. Europe implements a multiply-redundant power network stretching across the free world, based on small, local, power generation systems - instead of a handful of large fossil fuel stations whose supplies rest in the hands of whoever's running the Kremlin (Putin), there will be a large number of small power stations. Maybe one per tower block or village all linked into the network. These stations could be nuclear or they could be renewable - it's not important.

What is important is that the owners of the little stations can sell surplus energy back into the grid, or buy it back if they need it. A thriving electricity economy if you will.

Don't fool yourself with "green energy", because it is a myth. This type of energy will cost much higher than fossil, even in future. Just calculate how much you need to produce one kilo of gallium arsenide semiconductor, I dunno how much you need to mine gallium and arsenicon apart.

Forget it, you are our captives for ever, there is no escape!

Dream on Kostik ... Gas is only 12 % of our energetic balance ... what is more 40% from this 12% comes from Polish deposits ...

Don't fool yourself with "green energy", because it is a myth.

Of course, you would say that. No, Constantine, nuclear and renewables are the way forward. Especially since devices will use less power in the future so, fingers crossed, our needs will actually decrease.

May be, may be... But what I know, that all your fertilizers plants, such as Pulawi Azotowe (sorry for mistakes in writing), Anwyl etc. are working on russian fuel. Just think what would be, if we had idea to cut Poland off?

There is no famous polish agriculture without ammonium nitrate, there is no building industry without famous polish PVC!

Cow poo is free and plentiful.

I'd have throught the Arabs would produce more petroleum products than Poland. Hmm. That would be a setback if you're right...

Mmm, dream on... Let's wait american withdrawal from Iraq. I hope that all this region will explode with all those rotten, out of date middle aged kingdoms. May be you should think about export directly from Venesuela first?

As a Russian patriot, you are entitled to such wishes and hopes. Every new conflict in the Middle East will put up the price of oil. Currently it is at about 40$, while Russia needs at least 75$ to keep the balance. Every dollar below 75 means a loss and eating out Russian reserves.

There is a danger that Russians might provoke new wars and conflicts in the ME region to put up the price. :(

How about at least one possible perspective, absorption of Iraq by Iran? I suppose that it will be very nice hedgehog in the pants of america.

Don't think please that I am just bloodthirsty as the second Gilles de Retz, but I think that our gov conduct too mild policy toward EU.

What choice had we got I wonder when you placed so-called "missile shield"? The logic is simple zub za zub... After all it wasn't Russia that made an unfriendly move first. So your approach is not completely fair I guess.

Yes

The primary mistake of Western Europe is that Russia follows some sort of economical or political logic.

Of course Russia doesnt want war whether cold or hot one but russian diplomacy and political groups are not civilized, you have to realise that untill now Russia solvied its problems by brutal violence, blackmail and murder rather than political dialogue.

In other words the new Russia is unused to a civilized dialogue and its diplomacy remains a clumsy and brutal affair, the greatest danger here is that Russia through this crude and emotional diplomacy will start a crisis because its western neighbours will at some point refuse to conceede to unreasonable demands and Russia given its simplistic brutal approach will not be able to back down.

As I post before on these forums there is one big geopolitical issue between Russia and Poland. It is unfortunate but it is reality.
So, once again: the name of that issue is future of Ukraine and Belarus.
Poland see this countries as future members of UE or at least strong and independent democracies. Russia see them as future members of some multinational entity lead by Russia or at least dependent countries. For both countries this is a critical issue, so this conflict extrapolate on other things. For last couple of years there are clearly visible trends:

- in Russia policy towards Poland - prevent Poland from growing bigger in economical and political sense (mainly in EU forum)
- in Poland policy towards Russia - prevent Russia from entering central european markets, blocking Russia in EU.

Obviously Poland is much weaker in that game. We are still playing only because EU leverage and strong support for independence in Ukraine. Belarus is almost lost. So, yes, from that point of view Poland can be worried about Russia.

PS. Can we be friends? I hope so, but I'll believe in that when Kaliningrad become kind of Hongkong. Now it still is like one enormous air craft, obviously something to worry about.
