Poland 2007 Elections: PO Won, PIS second

All states have their time limits. Such limits has Poland, and has Russia of course. What do yo think, what our issues will say about Poland? "...there was such brave nation, Poles". And what they will say about Russia? "GOSH!!!"

If by "they" you mean Poles than I wouldn't worry too much. The perception of Russia will change with time. It's not that we still hate Swedes for the deluge you know. Of course it also depends if the future relationships of our both nations will be more peaceful and friendly, which unfortunately isn’t that certain. :)

Look on British, they had their empire too ... look on Poles we had our empire too (we occupied your Moscov) and I think you havent taken lessons. and you will lost ... because times have changed, and you arent so strong as you think, and you are to small to play your games again.

Poland had a huge impact on shaping of the political situation in Central and Eastern Europe in the XV, XVI and XVII th century but we were never really an empire.

as to Ukraina, we dont want Polish Ukraina, we want independent democratic Ukraina. Ukrainians know that and that is why they consider us as their best friends (according current foccuses).

Well actually, I know about what poll you are talking about, and according to it 48% of Ukrainnians are pro Polish, while 49% are pro Russian. Or maybe it's the other way around???

yes what is noticable, in eastern Ukraina prefere Russians (there is big Russian miniority), central and west Urkaina prefere Poles. But every year it changes and they more and more prefere Poles :) because all we want is their independence. Ukrainian independence one of our strategic aims, and we kicked Russians a s s in 2005. Using diplomacy and positive power of democracy. They still strugle but last elections were democratic so it works ...

Show me any historic patterns, when rich nation could take world? Romans? But they were poor fellowas in comparison with Greeks or Carthago! May be Mongols? But they were only a small branch of nomad tribes. To tale a world you must have only two things, burning desire and courage!

:) Putin modern Mongol warrior :) Chingis Han. Poor beaten but proud and couragous. I hope your citizens will notice that Ukraina is democratic and will ask for the same. If not you will be beaten once again.

in 2005 everything was prepared, Ukraina, Georgia and next should be Russia... but prices of oil increased and their regime got some money... ehh we have to wait for next opportunity. If you read posts of another Russian on this forum you will notice that they want democracy ...

Some time ago there was one Swedish politic visiting Warsaw (sorry i can't remember his nam) and he oficially apologised Polish nation for what happened between our two countries in the XVII century! I thought that my arse will fell off from laughter! :))

The other way round ;) But i'm not sure these are the true results... Watch this.

Well the figures are slightly different, but I guess that must be the same poll.

I hate to say but this isn't evidence that "they" all want democracy.

They are honest people, I have nothing against them. Comparing them and criminals is even worse than comparing homosexuals and pedophiles.

I hate to say but this isn't evidence that "they" all want democracy.

The real Russian problem is not because something that they don't want, I mean "democracy " but because something they do want, 'authoritarian socialism'. But still this is rather their problem than our.

true, there are people in jail who are guilty of nothing more than smoking a joint..

Few post more and we will learn that they are all in fact innocent political prisoners of Kaczynski regime :))

well, some of you are trying very hard to prove that only "bad" people voted for PO and you tell some fairytales about how bad PO is..... if you dont live in this country and say that PiS should have won, then no comments:/

This should be the Picture of the Year. This is how most politicians (not only in Poland) end their careers. There will be a similar picture on the next elections. It would look great as oil painting too :).

Polish politicians - end

Although I don't support PiS or claim that all PO voters are "bad", I do live in Poland and I dare to say that PO is just a mystification, bunch of opportunists without any higher ideals. Hopefully this opinion deserve your comment, this is a discussion board after all. :)

As I have wrote yesterday, PO already denied speculations that they want privatize public media. Four years of PO propaganda for our money, great!

Can someone tell me I correctly understand the parties in Poland.

Am I right in thinking that the PO are similar to the UK's New Labour and the PiS are like the Tories?

Also are LiD similar to the Liberal Democrats, PSL similar to Respect, LPR similar to the BNP?

Did the NOP contest the election?

kind of.. but the poles arent as flexible as your parties and change their manifesto like the british weather!
