Does Poland count in Europe or is it ignored?

Mrs. Steinbach is only the political face.

And what a lovely face it is :)

That center is being build by a whole hoarde of historians and researchers.

Well, so far that "horde" of historians is doing a c*unt of a job, posting a lot of
inaccurate information on the official website of the project, which makes it look
like it's supposed to serve the not-so-hidden agenda of Mrs Steinbach.

Well...the sooner we get the center to clear up such things the better, right? :)

....not "hoarde"???

I'm not going to bother posting more on this thread.

Thank you!

Oh and for your "Copernicus is polish" statement, there is a looooong thread about that topic already here on PF, go read it..you might learn a thing or two!

I'm also not interested to start everytime from scratch the moment another history newbie decides to put in his two cents....as the history of the Germans in what is what now Poland goes back many centuries and didn't start with any invasions.

Oooooh...now we are back mocking some adversaries looks???? Man, you really have THE killer arguments, don't you! Don't you see how ridiculous your "Steinbach-phobia" has become? That has nothing do to with rationality anymore...;)

Oh, yes - absolutely! However, I doubt it will be cleared up anytime soon if the
German side is not even willing to show the minimal amount of goodwill required
to remove Steinbach from any position in the centre.

Keeping her as an official "political face" of the centre in Berlin is kinda like appointing
Cromwell by the English to be a head of the Irish-English Reconcilliation Centre
in London :))) (not a very accurate comparison, true, but you know what I mean).

....not "hoarde"???

I don't know - English is a Germanic language - you tell me ;)

to remove Steinbach from any position in the centre.

Well, I think that Mrs. Steinbach will refrain from her deserved seat voluntarily...and that will make Poland happy and change nothing.
Because she won't make the documentations which will be presented in this center. It will be about photos, documents, eyewitness interviews etc.

But if it makes you happy....:)

I don't know - English is a Germanic language - you tell me ;)

ouch :)

(not a very accurate comparison, true, but you know what I mean).

Not really...english/irish history is not my strong suit! *gets red*

In any case Mrs. Steinbach is less a Nazi than the catholic Pope and never hurt a fly.

You really fancy her, don't you?

Oh, well - I should stop being so childlish. There's nothing wrong
in young fella secretely admiring a mature, dominant woman... I guess :)

Hey, I thought the photo would relieve some tension of the discussion..... :):):):):):)

Please, relax... :):):):):)

Is it so hard to understand that we want Nazi-free Germany? :):):):):)

Damn! You know me to well

Are you catholic by any chance?

Your pope is more guilty of that than Erika Steinbach...just in case you don't know....why don't tell him?

Nice, isn't it? And still you have no problems to follow him....so it can't be the Nazi-thing...

I protest! The photo is an obvious fake!

Look at his shirt - it's a mess. In reality, Joseph's shirts were always immaculately ironed.

Shame on you BB, have some respect for your countryman, we all have skeletons in the closet and what we have done in our youth probably not our finest moment but this is uncalled for. I still respect him even if he’s a German.

Torun was part of the Kingdom of Poland the year he was born. Im not a history begginer either. I have read German History, Russian History and Polish history.

If you think where Poland is has always been German you do not understand what you have read. I have an interest in History not any nation, I read history with an open mind.

Nobles changing the king they follow does not change what language the peasents spoke.

I know more of your history than I do of my own. You can believe that Germany has rights to all the land from here to Moscow if you want, but you are wrong.

What? So quick through the whole thread? Why don't I believe it!

Poland was partitioned for some centuries, right? Didn't make the Poles to ethnic Germans or Russians...get a grip man! Kopernikus was ethnic German in a time where there wasn't much of nation states at all.

You can believe that Germany has rights to all the land from here to Moscow if you want, but you are wrong.

You don't know much...

Im bothered about the real history, not your version.

What "real" history?
That Steinbach is a Nazi? That I claim all the lands till Moscow for Germany? That the history of the Germans in Poland starts with WWII?

I have a good guess that you know NOTHING about the Germans in what is now Poland, the millennia of history, the old towns, the famous heads, the rich history between Poles and Germans which were not always only about war?

I'm not interested in teaching you the basics...it's your problem, not mine! Go!

I cant see where all that came from, I never said she was a Nazi, I never said it started with WW2 (I mention WW1 for a start) I know about the Prussians and Teutonic Knights. I know the Baltic states used to have a German INFLUENCE too. I've read the history right back to before the Romans you fool.

I see where your version of history comes from, you read what you want to see.

Well...I'm a "concerned person" if you so want.
That history is part of my families history...you are, what? Some English from far away?
Sorry if I don't take your "knowledge" and judgement seriously, so sorry!

Erm...is that some try of small talk? Sorry, I'm not interested.
Better read some books about the history of these lands BEFORE you decide to write in such topics.
Your knowledge is interesting to me and to others, age is not!

It is not small talk, I was wondering as I've lived in this country for a few years. I read your history books a few years ago and I read Russian history and then Polish history.

Funny that its all interlinked isn't it.

I'm a German on a polish forum!
I'm concentrating on the german part of the history as here nobody else does.
There is alot of things just plain wrong in polish views of history (willfully or just brainwashed by communist teachings all these decades I often don't know)....if I have the links to

prove it I do it.

Get used to it or better ignore and leave!

PS: No, I'm not repeating all these discussions for you and with you....use the search function of the forum and that should give you an idea or two.

end and out

I'm concentrating on the unbiased part of history.

I'm not Polish, I'm not German I just have an interest in the history of the Area. How do you think I got interested in Poland in the first place?

I like Central and Eastern European history more than western history and their versions.

Don't worry, I try to correct the Polish when they stray to 1 sided History.

That the history of the Germans in Poland starts with WWII?

Let’s see in Steinbach case yes, yes and once again yes. Her father as an technician in Luftwaffe have been send to Rumia in 43 on an assignment at the local airfield, her mother visited her husband there on an occasion but was based in Berlin it was during one of those short visits that Erica was born there by chance. In January of 45 Erica with her mother and sister left Rumia and settled in Schleswig-Holstein. What Uncle Hitler gave to the proper German family in the name of conquest Uncle Stalin with his Red Army takes it away and now all that fuss for the sake of a career. She played a fiddle in her youth and you still dance to the tune she plays. Where is that long history of Germans in Poland in her case? Wake up and smell the coffee, to be blinded by patriotism is one thing but to be ignorant in history is another. But I guess like a good little German as soon as someone plays a march, you march

Having this chapter of history covered in debth in the documentation centre might not be in the interest of the Polish government, I would assume.

This is is not correct interpretation of motives of Polish politicians. They talk about Steinbach (who was proved to be a liar by the way) only during election campaigns to attract more voters.

Why do you think that politicians should dig in history? Lets leave interpretation of historic events to historians.

Copernicus is German. Haha I read all your Bollxxxs about him being prussian.

Remind me when Prussians became German? They were from the Baltic states before the Teutonic nights went into prussia, at the invitation of a Polish King.

Teutonic nights invited into Polish territory.

as the history of the Germans in what is what now Poland goes back many centuries and didn't start with any invasions.

The Germans did not settle in the main part of where Poland is today, they were scared off by the Turkic nomads. The Western Slaves settled and there were no ethnic Germans in the main Polish lands until the Teutonic nights went rouge and overstepped their invitation.

That sounds like an invasion to me.

reading your threads I learnt you don't have a clue about German history.

I see that Poland is still Ignored by Germany, I think it counts to people from the UK.
