Why is everybody complaining about the Poles, or for that matter, any other nationality is taking our jobs?? You see the thing is, most of the jobs that these immigrants are taking are the ones that Brits themselves don't want to do (for whatever reason) these jobs still need doing so the businesses will employ whoever wants/needs the jobs.

The only moan i have about immigrants working in the UK is this, the ones who are face to face and interact with the customer/consumer on a regular basis and cannot speak English to the level required to have a simple conversation.

Perhaps theyd be best placed within Polish government, the transport sector would be a great starting block.

They are there for convenience, you might be able to survive on them if you work in an office but if you do manual work like myself you would never be able to get eniugh down you in half an hour to keep you going.


So people should just have to like it or lump it, is that what your saying?. If we all had that attitude then nothing would change. The minimum wage is sh@t and it is so out of greed and not necessity, if france can have their minimum wage set to nearly 9 euros per hour then why is ours £5.73.


So what happens on the other 2 days in the week.


Fruit is not a luxury and nor is yoghurt, they are both part of a healthy diet and we all no how much the government bangs on about us being healthy so its saves money for the cash strapped NHS.


Lets see them get past 50 on a diet like you have suggested.


Haven't you heard yet that " poles do the jobs that brits don't want to do" is a lie.
If that was true then why do companies scheme with employment agencies so that they only sent polish people to they're work place, this little trick then allows them to employ them after 3 months with out the usual checks. Again if it was true then why is the work force 90% polish where i work when there are lots of british people that want to do the work.

Always has been, but the British press love to put the Brits down..of course we are all lazy benefit sroungers...

Evidently we are greedy for wanting a better life! We now have a culture of casual labour in this country...more and more companies moving away from traditional employment, but towards a like it or lump here are the (lack of) conditions..This does not make for a stable economy...It just doesnt make sense how in 10 years we have ruined this country.

yeah! There is this culture in the uk i want i want i want and give me give me give me with out having to work for it! We should be greatful for what we have here, not many countries have a state system that will cough up tax payers money to help the poor and the "needy". people should take advantage of the system as a means to getting their lives back on track and that does take some time! and not use it as some kind of "luxury" that they are supposedly "entitled" too!

yes! I agree with you on that - thats what the average brit spends! Although Im a little thrifty with my money and I have the advantage of that! When I was working and living in glasgow, my rent was about the same as shelly's and thats living in a one bedroom private let! She might have been using the pay monthly scheme for her electricity and gas - I was spending roughly £ 30 month on gas and electric on the prepayment meters, land line - i dont with out, I spent £25 a month on mobile - food wise - it varies from month to month - i tend to eat a lot of "reduced to clear/ best before shelf date" food which is still fresh but will cost me anything between £20-£30 a month or less! Sometimes if I cant find the food bargains I have to by no means pay the full price for food! which is roughly 80-100 pounds a month!

Oh, I have a Polish/American boyfriend, who lived in Poland for quite some time....He hates them, bar the occasional few...he says they are arrogant, rude obnoxious, and think they are something when they are not...I have to say, since being with him and meeting them, the majority of them are just that. Some are lovely though.

And are they taking jobs, yea they are, but frankly they are jobs we don't want, and as people have rightly pointed out, they are jobs English can't live on, not because we want to keep up with the Jones', not because we are spoilt...But purely because WE CANNOT AFFORD TO LIVE decently if we do those jobs....Its our economy, and the ratio of earnings to living that make us need higher paid jobs....

There were two Polish biatches who both had faces like bags of spanners in a restaurant the other night, making rude comments about everyone around them. The only thing you could say about them was that they were skinny.

Quite honestly we all have to just get on with it and do our best to get work in any part of EU.

I think you are confusing chavs off some council estate who have never worked, with hard working class people, who for what ever reason didn't have the opportunity to go to university. Men that work 60/70 hours a week for a very low wage, therefore dont have the time for further education because maybe, just maybe they want to spend a bit of time with their family when do have the time. They're not living 10 to a 2 bed flat and sending money home to pay for a cheap mortgage, they are paying over the odds for a house in the UK and working their bolloxs off to keep their heads above water.

You should really think about what you are writing, maybe you've been out of the UK for too long and are out of touch with the reality of it here.

You've actually hit the nail on the head there - the question of family. Should we really feel sorry for someone (given the availability of free contraception in the UK) who chose to have kids, even in the knowledge that they'd be unlikely to provide a decent life for them? I don't view having kids as a human right, they are essentially a luxury. If you need a big house to accomodate them, then you have to accept that you need to work for them.

But why are they working for a low wage to begin with? Most of the time, this is people who played the fool in the classroom and didn't bother showing up for their exams. You know, the popular kids who ended up in a backbreaking, physical job because they couldn't do anything else.

Let's be honest - if you compare the lifestyles of minimum wage workers in the UK as opposed to minimum wage workers in Poland, the Brits are living a life of luxury in comparison.

Part of the problem, of course, is that uneducated manual workers don't know how to look after their money wisely. They have Sky TV, they demand meat for every dinner, they won't consider buying own brand products 'coz it jus dusnt taste the same innit' and generally squander what money they have.

That is such an old myth...trust me those are NOT the jobs that Polish people are doing here, I have said it before so sorry if I am repeating myself, but Polish workers in UK are electricians, dental receptionists, supermarket workers, insurance sales ppl, doctors, nurses, etc etc. It's time for this silly cliche of "Polish workers do jobs that Brits don't want" to be knocked on the head for good.

For your information, I have a very good job where I educated for it. I work in Insolvency, this is actually a very reputable job...Not just a job in call centre, or a "debt recovery" office, but I mean a top Insolvency Practitioner Firm.

Now based on that, I STILL do not live an exuberant life....I have a flat with a mortgage, i DO NOT have a plasma tv, DO NOT have a game console, and DO NOT have any of the other luxuries...Why, cos I don't want them, and I don't have money to buy them....Why don't I have money to buy them?? - Cos my money goes on bills...Just like Shelley has already told you.

I am a harding working citizen and like Shelley says, you are confusing chavs who have not done a days work in their life, to someone like I who has worked for every penny I have....and its still not enough to lead a DECENT life. I live from month to month, even on my GOOD wages.

So, in summary, if we want a decent life, then we can have it...We do have a right to that, and I do work hard for it. So quit being so obnoxious and catergorising everyone in the same boat as apparently what you believe to be "correct".

It's alright for foreigners to come here and go on benefits though aint it....and support all their family here, and send our economy money back to their country to help family there....Why should us decent tax payers be paying for that?????? - In summary, if we didnt have all the scroungers (English and Foreign) us educated people would have more money to live on. Instead we have to fund them claiming benefits in OUR COUNTRY.
