Poles in war of words over voting

EU reporter, BBC News, Brussels

German Chancellor Angela Merkel (r) and Polish President Lech Kaczynski (file image)
Angela Merkel faces determined opposition from Poland
Poland shocked EU diplomats with its fierce negotiating tactics even before it joined the club, and after three years of membership neither the ferocity, nor the shock, have gone away.

Power and money are always the toughest issues for the European Union to solve.

and to be serious, I have been to germany several times, but now I just prefere to avoid this country. You know it isnt easy to be Pole in Germany especialy in eastern. And most of the pepole who were tolerant when comes back from there becomes anty - german. I know a lot of people who comes back form UK and have good opinion about UK. Thesame about France. But germans likes to trate us like ... and later they are so surprised we dont like them.

So just make an focuss. Wear Polish national team t-shirt and walk throught Dresno. And take German national t-shirt and walk throught any town in Poland. Im sure that wearing Polish one is more dangerous. According to foccuses: german society is more anty-Polish. than we anty-German. They have the problem with their psyche , not we.

We just don't like you....so what?

so just dont come here and dont ask why we dont want Germans leading Europe, or dont come for any support in any case.

You know...there is a difference between "not liking" and real arguments.

But that would be hard to comprehend for someone who thinks soon smart Poles are bigger than Germany which goes all Turkey anyway....so...I'm not so hard on you! :)

I just got news from a Polish friend of mine who was in the US eight years ago.....I wanted to see what she was doing (Dorota), and it turns out that she married a German and moved there, and is very happy. Generalizations about any group just isn't fair.

Where I work, until recently, there were four Poles and one German.
They seemed to get on. It didn't look like they hated eachother.
Although one or two of the Poles used to call him Helmut (not his real name)
and they seemed to find it almost as funny as I did.

My other Polish friend Ania, who is in CA, is working in a group of Poles and Germans at a resort. She said she was mostly annoyed with her fellow countrymen because they would not stop complaining, and she was sick of hearing it.

People are just people. Same everywhere.
