all but two states require a couple be age 18 in order to marry without parental consent

I love it. You can get married at 18, drive a car at 6 (or whatever age it really is) .... but you have to be 21 to get a beer?

don't forget that you also have the god given right to die in a war before you ever taste that first beer.

Good point that I am all too aware of. It applies here too even with the drinking age set at 18.

Not allowed on the Front line until you're 18 in HM Armed Forces mate. You can have a beer then die. We're sporting like that. I've seen Colchester on a friday evening.

Actually, an 18 year old soldier can legally purchase and drink alcohol if it is bought and consumed on the military base....he cannot, however, go to a local club in town to get a drink if he is not 21.

age doesnt matter where true love is concerned-so if it is true love he will repect her-by allowing her to grow up hang out with people her own age and then maybe in a couple of years she will be a little more wise as to what love is.

I live in the UK and I met my boyfriend when he was 27 and I was 16, everyone thought it was really dodgy and my mum wasn't pleased to say the least. we were together for 6 months before we had sex.....we appreciated that people around us weren't happy and wanted to prove we really did care for each other. anyway, after getting to know him better, my mum let him move in with us and we have been together for 2 years and he proposed last week. I think you have to look at every case individually, I'm so happy in my relationship and I hope that your 16year old will be as responsible as I was.....just dont nag her, if you nag her she'll probably sleep with him to spite you. good luck!

I was thrilled and was so happy when I said yes. I've been asked by a few people if i'm worried that i'm missing out on life, and I can firmly say no. I've been in a few relationships before and they were simply relationships for relationships sake- I now live with my best friend and share everything with him. We go clubbing together and alone if we want and he has been accepted within my group of friends. I've met his family in poland and everything went well.

I feel that i'm at an advantage - rather than looking at it as i'm shutting the world out, I think that i get to face the world more confidently with my boyfriend at my side.
