PAYING TO TAKE A PISS IN POLAND, it's BIZARRE

Of course if you look, you can find a free toilet. When I was in Warsaw I had no problem with paying to use the toilets. As an American... the idea of a clean toilet in the middle of a large city... is amazing. Try using the public toilets in New York City and you'll know what I'm talking about. That said... it was something I had to get used to (I actually got yelled at by an old woman attendant... well not yelled at... but I had no idea what I did wrong at first).

Whether in US or CA nobody pays to take #1 or #2 , malls ,coffee shops , restaurants ...anywhere you go ,if you get the urge to purge you just go in without any permission from the owner or anyone else .So if those drunks and bums in Poland dont have money to pay for their natural needs , where do they go ?

Obviously they go anywhere they can,in most cases they spend a lot of time around train stations ,so they just pee and poo right there near the tracks ,that's why Dworzec Centralny in Warsaw stinks .What a wonderful way of saying Welcome! to all those domestic and international travellers ;)))

SHAME!!!

I did several times and in the old days I used to go to the Forum Hotel where the WC was spotless and most important FREE , now looking back at the good old days I wonder how could they not charge for that exclusive shitter? This days they seem to be more business oriented and they even charge you for ass wipe , and what happens when you dont have enough money to buy it? God help !

Generally in Warsaw they keep it in the grass...the occasional bomb gets smeared and stomped on along the sidewalk. Of course that also means that grass areas always smell horrible and are covered with shite.

Thank god, we've got enough on our loafers with the dogs. :)

dogs poop on a sidewalk was a big problem in Krakow... if you step on one you'd slide on it straight to your destnantion... and the dogs' owners always gave me an attitude when i told them to keep it clean... i hope it's changed now...

Oh don,t get me started on dog poo...One of the things that really psssst me off about the UK...I have to say it seems to be much less of a problem in Poland , at least in the small towns around me.....I am not sure if this is due to the Polish people keeping the streets cleaner , or the fact that Polish dogs run around loose much more and can find a bit of grass to do it on rather than on the pavement where UK dogs which must be on a lead have to do it....

my theory is that in the small towns everybody has outdoor garden dogs that never get taken for walks, as opposed to pet dogs that live indoors and get taken on walkies on pavements and then crap everywhere.

then crap everywhere.

which is ok as long as the owners clean after the dogs... tough world...

I lived in Leeds for twenty years...the footpath on the street where i lived was like a minefield of dog poo...and i lived in one of the nicer area,s... Its also a problem in my town of Birth which was Scarborough on the east coast...

Back to the thread, I don't think paying to use toilets is bizarre if u look at the prevailing conditions in the place in question. Maintenance goes into these toilets. Yeah, u could easily raise the point that tax should cover it but I, for one, am glad that I have to pay to use the toilets.
