i laughed at the 7 years in the army thing. we all know everyone that spends any time in the military has less control over violent actions than others. lol

Its only the people who don,t know me so well that think i am rich , probably because of the Harley , the people who are my real friends know the truth....There are some very special people in my life who help me very much , but because of language problem they don,t always know what to do....My first posting must have sounded very negative about Polish people , but thats not how i feel...I have met some of the best friends i ever had in Poland , and the actions of a few worthless buraks has not changed the way i feel about my Polish friends...Many of my neighbours will be angry that someone stole from their English friend , but again the language problem means they cannot tell me this.....and yes i know i need to learn Polish , but living alone its not so easy.....

Being in the military does not mean you can, t control your violence.....and i will shoot anyone who says different....

yeah, i thought it was funny you brought it up though. what difference does it make that you were in the military. i'm in the military, my brother is in the military and deployed right now. neither one of us or any of my friends in the military fight more than any normal joe. i just didn't really like how you worded it, but who really gives a sh** right, i'm just bored and just got home an hour or so ago from drinking and about to start a russian movie.

anyways, just ignore this little rant-like post. and get back on with the topic :)

Hi Jnowiski...don,t worry about it....i can,t remember myself now why i mentioned it, but never mind...enjoy your film , and keep your head down...Fighting for your country is important , but don,t forget that coming home in one piece to your family is too...good luck...

my job focuses on more of the psychological aspect of things, my brother is infantry, so i can see how what you said could apply to him and his buddies, since alot of them don't have any marketable skills besides conducting raids and doing assaults, but even most of them control anger and all, minus the few that have always had something wrong in the head. i think you just wanted to show that if needed you could use some violence of action, but that's almost always uncalled for, unless you're life is at stake.

i try to avoid saying what i do in the military to most people, its not bad or anything, but people assume that i do certain things and some people no matter what i say continue to believe what they want. and yeah, so far its a decent movie.

I think i understand what your job is...and yes most people will have their own picture of what its about , which is a long way from the facts.....I agree that violence is a last resort....unless they touch my Harley that is.........

hi..just to clear up a few things...

Lock up the farmhouse! Rent the land to farmers until you sell your house in the UK! Move to a bigger city! Get a job teaching English! Learn Polish in exchange for some free English lesson! When all the above are completed move back to the farm and carry on with the original conception

Besides it seems to me that you are Irish and not English!

Take no notice of some of the negative posts above, they're just as jealouse of you as the polish robbers...You had the Ballsto follow a dream and it's gone a little pear shaped and don't some just love to stick the boot in when you're down...Rant over.

I have an idea - why don't you start growing food for yourself? If you thinking
of running bed and breakfast then you should have your own chickens , eggs and
bacon. Grow your own potatos , they keep well for winter.
in one word be a self sufficient farmer !
Try to make friends and learn from the locals how they run a farm .
Wish you the very best of luck !

Right on... people like to help those who are triying to help themselves, it's in thiere nature.

I don't think he can get his stuff back ... I never heard of such a thing where once
stolen goods will magically appear at the door step .

Right again..Kiss your stuff goodbye and get on with it!!!...I've been the target of robberies at my place of work several times and it's soul-destroying.

Find ways to protect what you have left, but don't get paranoid.

It seems to me that finance is the root or your dispare, and are relying on the sale of the your house. In the mean time see if you can arrange a bank loan to tide things over,.That's what assets are for.

You have a good idea in the farm convertion, I like to stay in those type of places when i'm traveling in Poland....Good luck and don't let the @astards grind you down..

..Please understand i am not saying all Polish are thieves , i

Actually, sorry to say this but they are all thieves. Life in Poland has very little meaning at all and I am sorry to say that you are a little naive. Why are you in Poland and why are you going without food? I do not know all your reasons for being there and I admire your attempts to find a new life but you have to wise up. escapism rarely works out in practice. It is all right if you have family there looking after your possessions but nobody is your friend in Poland and anybody, literally anybody, will steal from you. You are seen as foreign and maybe it is the media all through the Communist era, Polish Television showed American films with big houses and large cars and the Poles see the West in these simplistic terms. In England, we are a little spoilt with houses already built and we go to the bank and the bank gives us a loan and we have a mortgage and the children go to school for free and spend time in hospital for free. In Poland where you have to go abroad to Germany and earn money to buy land and then to Holland to work to buy bricks and then to Belgium to work to buy cement then you come home and start to build the house yourself because nobody is going to give you a free 'meal ticket'-simply life is tough and it effects the mentality of people. You will never be a Pole and they will expoloit you-they even steal of each other. To be successful in Poland, you will need to start to steal yourself in time.

What rubbish....yes there are some dishonest scum in my village , but the majoity of them are hard working nice people who would not think of doing such a thing...There are many people in Poland who have helped me , given me things , and looked after my interests...These are people i would trust with my life , special people that will be friends for life.....Yes of course i have met those who want to be my friend because they think it will get them a free beer , but i am wise enough to know the difference...Saying that ALL Polish people are thieves is just racism , and rather silly , since its unlikely you have met ALL the people in Poland....

Eat your Harley

I bet it drinks oil more than gas like the rest of them

mmm maybe the old Harley,s were like that , but mine does not use any oil , and is very good on fuel , certainly cheaper to run than my cars....not so warm in the Polish winter tho....

well then will someone kindly explain how bears do it when they hibernate for 4 months???? Coz I don't think they play football in the winter..

I will try and put it VERY simply At the time when i was so short of money that i could not buy food i could not buy fuel either...Is that so difficult to understand...? Yes i could sell all my cars and bike and buy a few bags of food , but i chose not too , as i cant replace then later on...Where i live having transport is essential , and the Harley is the cheapest transport i have.....In any case the lack of food thing is not the point , i merely mentioned it to make the point i am not some rich English tourist buying up Poland...The post was to get advice from Polish people on what to do about bandits stealing my stuff...Selling my bike and buying some food is not going to help with that....

As someone who has taught survival to people i can assure you that its possible to live a month without food , not much fun , but you can do it , as long as you get water....Now , hibernating for the winter , sounds like a good plan...
