Frank

I had an accident in Sept. and really hurt my shoulder couldnt even put my elbow straight to chest height, can do that now, but I think because of the poor movement in the shoulder I have been over-compensating and thats whats causing the pain, anyway Im down for pys..... and he said they might give me some steroid injections...hmmmmmm it cant be any worse than a lumber puncture!
Frank  23 | 1183
5 Jan 2007 /  #521
Yes, I remember.....no the injections shouldn't be as bad, plus you should get relief.

Good for you

It wasnt racist, Im just not attracted to dark skinned men, not even to mediteraien

Yes, I remember.....no the injections shouldn't be as bad, plus you should get relief.

thats what im hoping, Ive been doing some stretching ex... but only when in the bath or when Ive had a wheat pack on since it doesnt hurt as much...do they inject right into the muscle??

On a serious note frank, when I went to the docs he asked if I had any tingling in my little finger, but you know when you're put on the stop I couldnt really think, Im pretty crap at things like that, but since he asked I had made a mental note when Ive had the stabbing pains down my arm and I do let tingling in my little finger and it goes numb sometimes with the pain, is the bad??

They inject into the joint capsule, the steroids reduce the inflammatory response, allows your own body to recover a bit quicker, maybe more pressure on the brachial nerve due to the swelling in the area....hopefully it will get better, but always difficult to predict.

cheers Frank, it'll probably be a couple of weeks before I start, never had pys.... before, on a scale of 1 - 10 is there relief or pain afterwards, Im guessing pain! But I cant go on like this, I have to undress using one arm to take anything that has to go over the head, I cant even put my hair up since I cant reach

okay here's another, I just tried to put my arm up the pain is in my elbow..I dont get it

Its all to do with stretching the nerve.........you annoy the relevant point, up straight or bent?.....like a searing pain......?

PS You do realise the cost of this cyber consultation is escalating....lol

one that I have to stand up and walk about with - yes

PS You do realise the cost of this cyber consultation is escalating....lol

Hay Frank ya know a luv ya!!! am worth it..and thanks it helps understand have been really getting a bit down with it since pain went into my neck, nearly blood cried at work - stopped taking the pain killers because they were not touching it and not slept more than 4 hours a night since it happened and even less since the pain in my damn neck started..

Not nice......but am sure the combo of steroid t/t , plus physio will straighten you out, but do follow the exercise regime implicitly...hoping of course both parties made the correct diagnosis and treatment plan!

Its a very under estimated type of damage......plus takes a long time to recover, nerves do badly at recovery....:(

Nerve pain is differnet, need more specific pain relief, which they may not like prescribing, but ask.

I didnt bother since I was taking the highest dosage of Ibrophofen (dont taken the piss out of the spelling, should be able to spell since I should have shares) and stopped about a month ago, I dont like taking tablets and the pain killers stopped working a while ago, I was tempted to ask my mum for some of hers since she has crumbly bones and suffers really bad...shes on a doseage that would knock an elephant out!
Frank  23 | 1183
5 Jan 2007 /  #531
Yeah...but there are nerve specific pain relief medications, but you need to ask your GP..some need to be taken for a period before they work..stay away from your mums !

5 Jan 2007 /  #532
okay, dont think she would have given them no matter how much i cried!!!!
Frank  23 | 1183
5 Jan 2007 /  #533
Its sometimes not the actual pain, but knowing you have it, plus it aint going away too quickly that makes it unbearable........hence the tears!

Or just too much booze that nite?....:)

the restriction and pain is when I try and put my hand on my hip and hand on hip or hand behind back when I bend my arm, lets say when I try and zip up a skirt (yes I have to go out with half my bloody zip up on a skirt until I meet with friends) because you need to use both hand for the tension!

I have a very high tolerance, trust me on this one, this is the worst pain I have ever had to put up with...

hence the reason Im not a pain killer pill popper
Frank  23 | 1183
5 Jan 2007 /  #535
Yeah...sounds right..........you have both my sympathy and more importantly empathy....

Or just too much booze that nite?....

not the night I did it since I cried like a baby...lol...I cannot tell a lie I had, had a few - I just flew like super woman taking a short cut from a bar back to my mates apartment in spain - right into a (one of those sort of culverts that the rains goes into) smashed my shoulder and my cheek - fortunately my shoulder took the brunt of the damage I did however sport a black eye and a rather swollen cheek! - will teach me for wearing those fashionable flimsy sandles!
Frank  23 | 1183
5 Jan 2007 /  #537
Booze....huh......as they say in Ireland.......without it there'd be no babies and no fights!

Not your sandles...but the loss of inhibition....thinking you were more athletic than you patently were......:(
Amathyst  19 | 2700
5 Jan 2007 /  #538
lol, thats actually quite funny since I was my years best at high jump and long jump, damn must have escaped me that night!...actually I must say I was probably more paraletic than athletic! (wasnt actually but it sounded good :) )

the bracketted comment referred to the paraletic comment BTW
Frank  23 | 1183
5 Jan 2007 /  #539
Yeah, but you weren't trying to jump it, you fell into/across it.......due to cheap tequila flowing through your English veins.....in holiday mode......has even more effect....

Dress it up as you will...but the board knows.....

Knows what? you act as if mixing makes a better world. Some of you are so pro multicultural its unreal. Because you have never lived it. Go move to a mixed neighborhood and find out just how well things work.

If nationalist means nazi then just what does liberal mean? The word genocide comes to mind.
