But we are still here, our nation survived and is going to do much better than today I hope.

Good reason to be happy. :)...my reason!

I'm proud to be 1/2 Polish, because most of the people I know don't have any idea what their culture is here. I'm proud to know the little bit of language I do know, and use it in my everyday speech. I love the fact that my Babcia instilled so much Polish in me, I don't know that it's Polish, and delight finding out how much that 1/2 really stands out. I am also Irish and Dutch from my father's side- who had no idea of their customs and roots. There's something to be said about knowing where you come from. So far, I learned that if I moved to Poland, I would fit right in. Although I still have my sites set on the island of Kaua'i (Hawai'ian island).

I'm proud of myself for being able to freak the hell out of anyone I know by speaking a different language :)

Of course, the Russian kids a=can understand me most of the time, so I have to stick to the mutts...... :)

These are people who have only head Spanish and French, and never an eastern dialect. So they got a bit scared at first, and they realized I was speaking Polish, being the "Friendly Neighborhood Polak" as I am :)

Being white as hell. Good food. Pretty girls. Big forehead lol.
Poland has the least amount of dishonor assiciated with it of all European nations throughout history.

Being a hardcore polish badass. Defending my polish heritage.

Yup. Red and White are my favorite colors.
I bleed red. When I bleed white I call a doctor.

Why should one be proud of belonging to a particular nationality?

Is it in order to compete with others who are proud of their own nationalities? ;)

I can tell what I love of things Polish.

One of them is Polish poet Rafal Wojaczek [pronounced in English: 'voyachek'] (1945- 1971).

I regard him as one of the very greatest 20th century world poets.

There have been some English translations of his poetry, but I'm not sure how good those would be....

I'll try to translate some of it myself, here, in this forum.

Babcia instilled so much Polish in me, I don't know that it's Polish

Is that to correct spelling by chance? I know what you mean... I pronounce it bab-ooshk-a. My 'polish grandma died when I was 8. I am 1/2 Polish as well- from my mother I get mainly Norwegian.

I'm proud to be Polish and share in the wealth of strong family ties, determined work ethic, the giving mannerisms--there are many things to be proud of in life.-

When my Canadian-American father says he wishes he knew Polish, and he talks about the great Polish contributions to the world and to the United States...I am proud that his parents were Polish!

Finding my Polish roots so I can understand where I came from and what made my grandparents do what they did and how they lived, particularly my Catholic heritage.

I'm not proud of being Polish, because of particular reason

what is the reason Maati ?

is it because we Poles abroad are jealous and do not help each other? , Polak Polakowi Wrogiem.

My gorgeous family, the food... it's all good. I find that I'm a bit disappointed with the somewhat police force, but I think Poland is doing pretty well considering its tragic history. In a vain sense though, I love telling people I'm from Poland... don't know why. For some reason they think it's exotic and kind of cool. I suppose it is. :)

Proud to be Polish

HOW MUCH?

is it because we Poles abroad are jealous and do not help each other? , Polak Polakowi Wrogiem

Thank You. At least one person has the courage to call things by name.
I'm not proud to be Polish at all. Wherever i go people make negative comments about us. Being honest many of those comments are discribing the real situation in our country. We are branded as thieves and sluts.

we don't need traitors like you. please take a English surname, forget your Polish mother tongue and never set a foot on Polish soil.

traitors

Just because i got the courage to admit some of our nationality traits i'm suppose to be a traiter right? If you were honest with yourself you would also admit that quite a few of us Polish people give foreiners the reason to call us these names. I saw with my own eyes in Londyn when three Polish guys robbed a car right in front of a church and as far as the other name i mentioned before unfortunately many young Polish girls are working as prostitutes in all kinds of western countries. You can't deny this fact. Well i don't care how you feel about all this but for myself i feel ashamed.

Rodak, I think you are very unfair to yourself and fellow poles, You obviously haven't see how the other world live and the crime waves in other countries, Polish people are more honest than most, sure some Polish people give us a bad name but understand its a bigger temptation to steal in a richer country when you are struggling to make ends meet.

traitor...

Call me what you want but you know i'm right.

its a bigger temptation to steal in a richer country when you are struggling to make ends meet

It's still not right and i can understand why people in other countries think bad about us. Sure there are also good people here but if the foreiners always make bad experiences with us . What are they suppose to think about it?

You obviously haven't see how the other world live

My comment is based on observing our people in UK, Germany, Holland and Belgium. So as you see i've been around and have seen things.Don't think that it's easy for me to make all these negative statements about us but i can't deny the reality.

some of us Poles might be thieves, drunks and schemers (kombinatorzy) but i am still proud to come from Poland.
instead of Rodak maybe you should call yourself zdrajca (traitor)
Rodak

zdrajca

Why can't you just accept the truth. I believe this is our biggest Polish problem to accept the facts. It doesn't bother me at all what you call me. I believe all honest people think like i think and are also ashamed of this situation.

"Rodak" sorry, but you don't have any courage, you're just telling bullsh*ts... Statistics of crime for Poland or Poles in general aren't much different than for western Europe and unlike us, they usually don't have any economical justification for that. And the biggest Polish problem are idiots like you, who are ashamed of something all the time. Don't like It ? So get lost, change your last name, become a woomp or a frog and be proud of that.

What makes you proud to be Polish?

Because Poles have won their freedom after soviet occupation and they always stand behind weakest and they not bent before strongest. That’s why I am proud to be Polish. And there are many more reasons, but you would not understand because you have simply betrayed your ancestors. You are pathetic.

Polish people missed the boat by allowing their Government to let the USA wrangle and argue about building defense missile bases in Poland. Missed the boat because: a) the Americans are lying about defense missiles, like they have lied about everything else; b) what did the USA do when Russia attempted to base missiles near the USA, just like the Americans are doing in Poland? Remember Cuba and the missile crisis?; and, c) the Americans want missiles in Poland so that a pre-emptive nuclear strike can be done on Russia in the near future - this is so America can then become the sole gangster of the world to corrupt, break and rule every facet of world economics and society.

These are all true, these are all facts, and I would not like to be in Poland when American missiles are targeted by Russia in retaliation. If you think that Russia is a lost nation, then be very wary about how they could destroy the USA and any country that allies itself to the "liars and corrupt crooks of the world - the USA."

No, if I was Polish I would not be proud at the moment, I would hang my head in shame at being lied to and duped by moronic Americans.

By the way: "How do you sink a Polish submarine?" - answer: "Put it in the water."
