Looking at today's quoted exchange rate for the Złoty

currencyconverter.uk.com/jump/ggo.html

6.94PL to the BP Sterling That's a good rate, My eye's bulged and I filled my pockets with holliday cash.....now is the time to get my spending money being due to travel to a family wedding.

Spent 2 hours around every bank, cantor, travel agent and post office, all claim to update the rates daily but best I could get is 4.5 sommat to the pound...Last weeeks rate.

Rates have been adjusted for the Dollar and Euro but the Złoty is out in the cold.

Kept my money in my pocket for the time being..hope they may adjust the rate when they have finished counting the bonuses.... :0)

It's made up for the most part. They will play with the numbers until they get caught out like they did last year and the ZL drops again. Profit profit profit.

The only thing that should be considered more criminal than robbing a bank, is owning a bank.

I dont know where those rates came from but they are about five years behind the times. You'll be lucky to get anything over 5 pln - 1 gbp within the next few months. It was just over 5 for a few sporadic days over the past three months. I constantly watch the exchange rates and only change money when i think the time is right, usually i guess in my favour.

If you want an accurate currency converter use: currency-converter.co.uk, and always wait till you get to Poland before exchanging money. When you arrive use a kantor preferably a small buiness no chains and definetly not at the airport. If youre changing over £500 you can usually barter a 0.1-2.

It's made up for the most part.

Its not made up at all.

best I could get is 4.5 sommat to the pound...Last weeeks rate.

At this very moment i guarantee you'll get 4.68 PLN - 1 GBP in Poland.

I think you've got a wrong rate here, unless this rate is to buy pound/sell Zloty which is very expensive.

Here's a bargain for you then.
take any commission above 5.5zloty for a pound for £10,000.00
so it's about 10,000.00 zloty profit,go on :)

my advice don't exchange money in the UK - do that in Poland - from my experience you will be robbed in the UK - btw avoid exchanging money at the first exchange office ('kantor') you encounter (usually at the airport or near the border) go for one outside tourist areas

It depends the amount you exchange anything above 10k you can get the interbank rate +(0.2 to 0.5) no commission charges,no transfer fee,no receiving fee.they get to transfer your money to any account free of charge.

Ater the huge high rate of $ ,euro for Zloty , as was expected before , with the end of smmer , all rates will go down back to be similair same as last year , 1 $ for 2.5 zloty approximatly , and i you check the xchange figures you will see that it started to go down 2 month ago , and it will calm down more later on.

1 $ for 2.5 zloty approximatly

Pffft it only ever approached that rate because of dishonesty in the Polish banking system...they got caught with their pants down last year when the world crisis occured and the PLN weakened after that. Nobody is watching now as they have a lot to do and again foolishness is occuring. It is an obvious attempt to gain parity with the Euro for the change over. It's all a game.

Poles are also running around raising prices claiming they are losing money and screaming crisis...yet the ZL is going up...it's always nonsense here.
