The word KOLEGA

The word KOLEGA (friend). Can it only be changed 2 ways? KOLEGA male and KOLEGI general ?

KOLEZANKA girlfriend

koledzy - frends (guys, boys)
znajomi - friends, people you know, general both sexes (znajomy (m), znajoma (f))
koleżanki - friends (girls)
koleżanka - girlfriend indeed but in the sense of a friend who is a girl (not a girl you go out with)
diewczyna - this means girlfriend as in one who you go out with, or it also simply means 'a girl' (context plays a role)

i guess it's more than enough.

"Kolega" is a masculine animate noun in Polish with a feminine "a" ending, which takes irregular article declensional endings; feminine noun endings, masculine adjective endings, e.g. "Widze tego innego kolegi." = I see that other colleague/co-worker/friend from work etc. It can be a little complicated in the beginning, so I'll spare you the whole dog and pony show here.

"Kolezanka" is female colleague, declined as all feminine nouns of that class, e.g. ksiazka, matka, siatka etc..

kolezenstwo would be a comradeship

kolegi also exists, na przyklad, prezent od mojego kolegi, therefore kolegi would be the genitive masculine singular case. You can not say widze innego kolegi but I suppose you could say nie widze innego kolegi in the negative or mam tylko jednego kolegi.
