Language / Two questions for people who learn polish [57]

I think hardest part is all the different word endings... i mean one word in english can have so many different forms in Polish its so hard not to make mistakes with pronouns like these.

For example the word "Like"

Ja Lubie – I Like
Ty Lubisz – You (Singular) Like
On/ona/ono Lubi – He/she/it Likes
My Lubimy – We Like
Wy Lubicie – You (Plural) Like
Oni/one Lubia – They Like

Head torture stuff...lol

i keep writing alot of polish the same way you would word it in english at the minute and it is wrong as polish sentence structure have words jumbled

Haha... glad to know I'm not the only one doing this!

Language / help with signs on some polish letters [19]

Merged: Advice on learning the polish alphabet

Hi
Just wondered if someone could offer some advice on learning the polish alphabet. I think this maybe the key to helping my reading skills of polish if i can pronounce every letter correctly. My speaking is getting good now but my reading relies on remembering pronunciation and its not always good. My Learning CD doesn't practice the alphabet or letter sounds maybe there would be a mp3 i could down load of the internet? and listen to over and over again.

UK, Ireland / Manchester - Question - living standard for Polish migrants. [29]

Hey thanks BubbaWoo and Lady in Red .....for trying to put the record straight on Belfast....Its a great place to live. Yes we have a few rough neighbourhoods, that some trouble has happened in, but every city in the world has those. The vast majority of Polish people have never seen or experience trouble here, you just have to be a little street wise and stay away from the 2 or 3 bad areas and don’t live in the very very cheap rented accommodation there, (its cheap for one reason because no one wants to live there)

Travel / Bydgoszcz - Poland's Great Secret [30]

Nothing wrong with Bydgoszcz at all. Great nightclubs, Poland's best bit of street art (in the Crossing the River sculpture - on the Brda in the middle of town). Lively. Even an airport!

Yes, have to agree with all of that, i have had lots of fun in Bydgoszcz...

Travel / Bydgoszcz - Poland's Great Secret [30]

any places worth going in Bydgoszcz(clubs/bars/pubs)?

Kredens pub is the best bar / pub in Bydgoszcz, with great atmosphere and decor..... very good ;) or maybe a smaller place the called the Amsterdam pub.

breakfast at Adam Sowa's

yes fantastic breakfast ;)

what's the attitude of the locals

I have been there several times, never had any problems, very friendly open.... maybe not as many speak English as other parts of Poland, but its fine.... it made me practice my Polish more :)

Well yes, i do believe it, but I dont like tempting fate.

Nahh dont think to deeply about it regarding buying him the watch, because he probably doesn't know the superstition..... but now you know maybe be better not ehh? Sorry hope i haven't wrecked your idea for a present..... but im sure you can think of lots more stuff he needs.
