USA, Canada / Deportation back to Poland for DUI [4]

In Illinois, and Im pretty sure across the Nation upon your 3rd DUI the state will charge you with a Felony or if you get 2 DUIs within a one or 2 year period.

They changed the law a few years back DUI convictions stay on your record for life now. It used to be only 10 years.

My friend received a 1 year Prison sentence for driving while on a suspended license because of DUI conviction.

Do people get deported for misdemeanors?

Ive never heard of anybody being deported on a misdemeanor.

Deportation cases in California usually pertain to felony cases

getting deported that did not have a previous record or any other charges besides that first DUI?

How long ago was it?
This person definitely needs an attorney. I hope he didnt blow into the machine, that would make it practically impossible for your lawyer to get you off.

Pat you should of been around here last week, I shouldnt of singled out Lodz but it was a Ragfest about the Avatars all week long.

Weve already had stars, smiley faces and a post count race but Admin has phased them out. Everytime he makes a change it causes a big uproar with some members,

Like its the end of thier world.

I like it the way the layout is now and if he decides to delete the Avatars, Im not going to lose any sleep over it.

But please keep the Avatars, I think it gives the forum some character:)

However, we have never gone out on a date - ie. dinner, cinema. I'm working and earning a good salary, so would be happy to pay my way, but it just seems that all socialising goes on in the home

Maybe hes saving up all his money he can make in the UK and return back home to Poland when he has his nest egg all saved up?

Id find another guy that treats you like a lady should be treated, it sounds like hes just using you, Guys can be very cunning,,,,tell him to take a hike:)

Or if you make a farewell post and quit, then ban thier IP address also! Then they cant come back with phoney screenames and start thier BS all over again.

Polish supermarkets they have a bulletin boards inside them, not to metion some good viddles:)

Wallys is on on Irving west of Nagle and Richs is at Harlem/Lawrence

It is located near the lakefront (Irving and Sheridan area). Large, 2500 square feet, 4 bed, 2 bath....and I currently don't have any roomates. I have renvoated the lower level and and that is what I wish to rent out (I live on teh upper level).

Sounds like a nice place

Parking must be a headache though?

A little studio apt in NYC rents for $1500-2000 per month

In Chicago you can get a 2 bedroom for $750 depending on which area you choose.

For those prices you might as well go live in London:):)

Not much, but would be nice to meet some polish (well not only) ppl who live up there...

Come to Chicago and get away from that East Coast, lots of Polish ppl here.

I was in Patterson N.J. once, Ill never go back there either:)

No I mean high schools for the Polish community where they speak Polish in the school.
I know a little Polish and am learning but I need people to talk to and to be emmerced in the language

You just cant go to any public school you feel like unless you move into that district.
And as for these public schools that speak all Polish , you are full of $hit:)

There are some private schools, like the other members said they are only part time.

There are none, why would there be? Even the schools in the Hispanic neighborhoods are taught in English.......This is America remember??

Do you mean Polish school that meets on Saturdays for three hours at a time

Everyone of my friends that were forced to go to these schools by thier parents said it sucked really bad.
They had to go every Saturday...lol

Wright College and Shaumburg H.S. offers a Polish language course the last time I checked.

Denny's...Are you referring to the Irish saucage brand or to the restaurant in the US?

The restaurants theyre everywhere over here.

I've been eating there and Perkins was pretty good, but then again, that is not really a burger restaurant, however, their burgers are pretty good

Ive been to Perkins at least your meal is made to order, the same with ihop and Dennys.
Theyre a big step up from McDonalds, Taco bell, KFC etc

I forgot its name, but it was a square burger and I think there were three patties in the bun, don't remember, but it was huge for 5 bucks, I think it was

The Triple Cheeseburger is a monster.

USA, Canada / Good Polish/American Restaurants in Chicago area [90]

It's 2009, and both Czerwone Jabłuszko locations are still open. I went to the one at 3121 N. Milwaukee Avenue, and it was ok for my first time eating Polish food. I however didn't like it that one of the buffet islands was in a hallway between the banquet room & the kitchen.

Yeah its a weird setup for sure, The last time I was there a month or so ago I didnt like the quality of food that day.

The other resturant North of Devon seems to be alot better and I always see it very busy.

Alot of the Polish businesses are moving away from the Belmont/Mill area.
Its turning all Hispanic over there.

Wallys deli and Angelica`s restaurant recently closed down.

My wife wants to go to Florida one day so I have to save up for that. Being in the deep south, I guess they pretty much have the same stuff as in New Orleans. Is that right?

Probably not as good as New Orleans but look for Cajun style restraunts and if they have Jambayla get it:)

Not to worry being in Florida you can get Gulf Grouper that has to be the tastiest fish I ever had, its very popular in the restaurants not to metion all the fresh Shrimp you can possibly eat.

Get a Rum Runner its a frozen cocktail all the bars serve them,,simply fantastic!!

The Poles have their delis back home

Theres a few Polish supermarkets here just not as many as the Mexicans ones.

I love the Polska sklep I think we can get practially everything they have in Poland in Chicago.

Im kinda of lucky I can all this ethnic food, we didnt mention Italian restaurants..lol

Are you a fan of spicy food, sledz?

Yes but all I really know are the Mexican types

Jalapeno, Habanero and Cayanne peppers are good and I like all the hot sauces execpt Tabasco..

Cajun food is really spicy and delicous, If you ever get a chance to go to New Orleans the food is excellent:)
