Life / Celebrities in Poland [27]

rape case

The whole case appeard to be just a bogus. Mother of that girl used her to form some false accusations, but charges against him had to be dropped, because of no evidence. I think it was a year or so ago.

Life / Celebrities in Poland [27]

Vast majority of celebrities in Poland are a-holes, just like everywhere else :) Some of them have feeble whims, it's just a normal custom of celebrities :) (that's why they are celebrities after all :) )

I'm not into celebrities gossips and such thingies, but here are some names:
Doda Elektroda (Dorota Rabczewska) - blonde rock singer, some say she's a stunning beauty :)
Frytka - some Frytkowska, she was a 1st edition BB house inhabitant, (I didn't bother to watch, but she become famous after she had sex with her pal there :) )

International ? Not many, I suppose:
Izabella Scorupco (one of Bond's girls)

...that's all from me in this subject (for now, at least) :)

News / Polish F-16s [27]

Grippen is a newer construction than F-16 and is far cheaper in upkeep (for example it reqires a far smaller ground crew than the F-16) but it lost becaouse Locheed Martin as part of the deal had promised to invest 4 billion dollars (the amount of money the Polish government purchased the planes - at that time it was also the largest single arms contract ever made in Europe) in Poland. The Swedes weren`t able to do the same.

Besides Gripens are not fully compatible with NATO standards. Despite being cheaper than F - 16s, it would cost additional funds to upgrade them to demanded standars. Just to remind you, Sweden is not a member of NATO.

UK, Ireland / I understand poles coming to uk [196]

From speaking to the Poles who arrived in the UK in the last 1- 2 years they all miss Polish food and think English food is largely terrible. It's a matter of taste and what you are used to.

Yeah, I agree, people loathe local bread :)

UK, Ireland / polish girls outnumbers polish men interms of relationships with native from uk or ie [178]

why polish men are looking to have fan with women from other nations

Beacause men are driven with testosterone.

As I understand for YOU Polish women are the best.

I never said so, quote me please first, and then and only then state your judgements.

Please tell me why only you know that???

What are you talking about ? I never said that only I am the best source of knowledge.

I assume that if you ask anyone you will get the same answer that they have a fantasy to have a date with a warm blooded woman, most likely from medetteranea (e.g. greek goddess ). Do you dissagree???

Excuse me, but I don't catch your drift. Whats your point here ?

In Scotland there aren't any Polish restaurants yet... only a few cornershops... But I think that we won't be waiting long for them, for Shelley found 17 (at least) restaurants in London.

I think it's a matter of time before Polish people coming to the UK (and other countries too) will start to show more sociable approach. I think that young generation is learning English more dilligently nowadays, for they see the reality in Poland which is discouraging and they either want to leave Poland to live and work abroad or increase their chances for employment in foreign companies that invest in Poland.

UK, Ireland / Fit Polish staff missing [39]

I'm not exactly sure if tipping staff is popular here, but in the UK price often includes 'service charge', and the staff won't accept any tips then.

They get £100 in cash in tips a weekany way

Try to be more precise. And btw, 'the tips' is a matter between customer and staff, not the manager.

Try to pay them more than £5.35 ph. You won't have to look for them then. They'll find you.

Language / Ways of Expressing the Future in Polish [3]

I have found that some Polish words are similar to English - that'll be the latin!!

Our languages are just latin derivatives contaminated with local dialects :)

Life / What is your favourite comedy (also Polish)? [63]

Monty Python's films and shows (their best is imho 'M. P. & Holy Grail' - the instruction of use of The Holy Hand Grenade - :))

And yup, 'Dzien swira' is also great.

Ola, give it a break. Blaming Britons for 'selling us to Soviets' is rather pointless, just because at the end of the war they had not much to say, the main players were Stalin and Roosevelt, furthermore, western Allies planned to invade Yugoslavia, but Stalin didn't agree, so they had to choose northern France, and that is why we fell under Soviet occupation.

It's a good thing that the UK has opened its job market for new UE countries, I think it's good both for British economy and for us.

polish seem to get on very well with English men.

That's a point, it's much easier for Polish girls here, for they're quite popular amongst Britons, but Polish men aren't that popular, besides I think that women look at men in an entirely different way than men perceive women. Correct me please if I'm wrong :)
