Language / conjugation of verb wspiąć się [39]

wespnę, wespniesz etc is a future tense. in present it would be:

i thought he asked about the future tense, cos he compared it to another verb which he conjugated using the future tense as well.

Hey, is it really in Polish

of course it is. tryb orzekający, czas przyszły, okres dokonany. your conjugation is in tryb niedokonany (eg. you will be climbing but we don't know if you will climb up).

Language / conjugation of verb wspiąć się [39]

....most of ordinary Poles do

i know many that havent got a clue about that.... unfortunately.

and it really was emphasized there as a curosity regarding that form

the lady said its perfectly correct to use that. to be honest i wouldnt be surprised to hear wzepne instead! i suppose most poles would say wejdę pod górę or something like that just to avoid making a mistake... ;)

Language / conjugation of verb wspiąć się [39]

oh thank you Michal, now we can sleep peacefully as you have okayed the translation. not sure about what the random order of forms and tenses represents, but you must be right. i am even ready to believe that

spiął się, wspięł się

are correct, but that is just because its you who posted these.

yeah i think that Krzysztof, these tenses might be more useful to poets or song writers, but i would be surprised to hear someone use them in common everyday language...

Language / Sending SMS messages without using Polish characters [23]

The only polish letter ive got on my phone is ó ;). When i got my Dad a mobile phone in UK he had Polish added to the languages available on his phone (it only cost about 20 zł. in Poland) and now all his menu is Polish and he has Polish characters on it. Im not sure if they can do it for you in UK but ask around or check on the internet etc. And why worry so much about not being able to use Polish letters, chill out im sure your loved ones will understand what u were saying...

i seriously dont think that is true, about counting ó,ć,ę etc. as 2-3 letters. when i use ó on my phone it counts it as one letter. dunno about the smileys, i suppose if your phone makes them look like actual little yellow faces, it counts them as 2-3 letters depending on how many characters u used to make them. u know, like :) thats 2 characters.

Life / How much do you HATE POLISH PEOPLE and POLAND [1260]

something that still annoys me is that when I am having a chat with a Polish person if another Polish person comes along they just start chatting away to the person I was talking to and that person just ignores me and starts chatting with their fellow Pole

maybe the fellow Pole had something more interesting to say? i am Polish and work with a few other Poles, and we tend not to distract other peoples conversations unless they are finished or we wanna join in. I always apologise and ask the other person to finish what they were saying if somebody else, Polish or English, wants a word with me. Its rude to start chatting away in your native language like that when you know the other person cant understand. English people tend to ignore what Poles say too if another English person comes along. We have a Thai lady at work and none of the English listen to her for longer than 1 minute. I think your issues are more good-manners related, obviously you came across some rude Poliah people. Or as Daisy said, you are just one of those boring people who cant shut up about their family, housework or neighbours...

Life / How much do you HATE POLISH PEOPLE and POLAND [1260]

Several Brits at work are always asking why I laugh with her when she looks a right stuck up cow to them I say that if they got to know her they would realise that she is very funny but as if sadly often the case they decline and go back to talking with Brits only.

ahhh so its a she i see ha ha. maybe your fellow british coworkers are right. i absolutely hate people who only talk to you when they feel like it, and they dump you out of the blue because somebody else comes along. you get left with this embarassing feeling whether there was something wrong you said or you bored them etc. my advice is to stay away from this girl for a while and see if she tries to make contact with you. if she wont - let it go. i know you want to be nice and make friends, but some people are idiots and the fact that they have a cute little face, a gorgeous pair of pins and a sexy accent doesnt give them the right to treat you like sh*t. And most importantly - do not assume all Polish people are like that. Good luck.
