I can imagine, squaddies have to pay for uniforms, accomodation etc.
Saving up a lump sum on top of your normal bills is not so easy

I tried to cure my nephew (Mary) once. Long story, but it didn't work. America has straight camps (run by religious organisations) to try to cure the gays.
