UK, Ireland / English people attitude towards Poles? [761]

I think if Bulldog is man enough to say he's sorry for offending anyone i think we should accept that. All of us say and do things we regret sometimes...

Life / How do Polish view others [116]

i was there for 3 different reasons, 1st Skiing in January absolutely fabulous and made very welcome, 2nd for the Le Mans 24 hour race, where i happen to meet a lovely French woman and lastly I went camping all down the west coast of France 1 month Later with that very same French Lady.. So this year alone was a lovely year there with great memories.. And La Rochelle where i stayed a few days was Beautiful, (and it happened to have a lovely little Irish pub, so i wasn't denied my guinness)

News / What are your 10 fave things about Poland? And 10 least favourite? [130]

British architecture and design in the 60's was hideous, awful apartment blocks. Doesn't really matter what country in the world you go to no matter how affluent, it will have run down areas and guetto's. It's just a fact of life..

UK, Ireland / BEWARE when coming over UK [363]

I lived in Holland for 4 years, and believe me it is not the most tolerent and liberal country you are led to believe.. I lved up in the North though in the countryside, i liked that..

As Truebrit and Rafik said, only by living somewhere else do you get to appreciate what you had before. I found myself being very defensive towards Britain when people were critical of it.

UK, Ireland / I understand poles coming to uk [196]

It just comes down to numbers basically, and that can be blamed on the British Goverment nobody else. Yes i think we have too much immigration now, but i don't blame people for coming here to get work. And i have been in Construction for 24 years and work very hard, hence i never have a problem with shortage of work or having to take a pay cut.

I'm leaving London soon to work in Canada for 2 years, purely out of choice because i believe Britain is becoming over crowded. That doesn't make me a racist, i'd say more a realist..

Life / Are Polish People Racist? [1037]

Even i'm not stupid enough to believe the term Polish Concentration Camps meant it was the Polish carrying out these atrocities...Honest i'm not....

Work / Polish Labor Is Scarce as Workers Go West [60]

I fully understand you getting upset at times Ola, we all do but by deflecting that anger on another nation like the UK where i come from doesn't serve any real purpose..

I have visited many Forums recently, especially Vancouver ones where i am moving too, and believe me the venom and racists remarks made there are remarkable. I think this is an excellent, well maintained and good natured forum compared to them. So you get a few trolls from UK, big deal !! does that mean you believe it reflects the opinion all all UK people. Many of whom write in this forum with intelligent and constructive comments?

I came here to learn more about Polish culture and opinions myself, because i never really knew much. A few comments anger me, but nobody will completely agree with other people.

Wouldn't that be boring?

Work / Polish Labor Is Scarce as Workers Go West [60]

UK_ Don't you think it is the British goverment you should be venting at and not the Polish people, Like every other E.U member state the Polish are entitled to come and go as they please. I believe that the UK cannot cope with the number of migrant workers that will soon follow. But that is down to goverment and nobody else.

Love / I'm upset - you encourage foreigners to take the Polish women away [94]

Ok i've had a really lousy day today, but let me say a couple of things.

What the hell does it matter what country people come from as long as they love eachother? i wish people would drop the stupid predudice amongst each other. We are all individual regardless of race, creed etc.. Life is so short so just bloody accept it..

Sorry for venting but i really had a bad day..

Secondly i really appreciate the polish people in this forum for speaking english, and i have really learnt from this thank you../

That's all..
goodnight.

News / English vs. Polish hostility [323]

Jamek there is NO hostility between English and Polish. I should know my town in England has loads of Polish people and I have a lot of Polish friends.

The people posting theese stuipid messages are just trying to create controversy.

Working in Construction i'm afraid to say there is a lot of hostility and bad feeling towards East European workers. And i have experienced this first hand. It'a a pity but true..

Life / Poland is wearing me down. :( Polish excuses... [30]

You do seem very defensive nauczyciel.. I lived in Holland for 4 years and it wasn't always easy going, but i adjusted, made the effort to speak Dutch, although not great and found it a lot more relaxed and easy going. It's a matter of integrating yourself to different cultures and surroundings i think.

Like BubbaWoo suggested i certainly don't think anyone was being unfair to you. Just constructive maybe.. Maybe you just need to lighten up a little and be less sensitive..

Let me read this back...nope i'm not being critical here..ok have fun..
