Life / I don't understand why my girlfriend wants to live in crime-prone Krakow [37]

how can my girlfriend want so much to live in the center of Krakow when crime is so bad?

ive been here for over a year now and i havent expienced any crime at all, yes you find the few drunks from time to time but if you keep a smart head you be fine. i lived in the so called rough area of nowa huta( north of krakow) and i still had no problems, infact i found more friends in that area than any other. if your prepared to go out and actually make friends with the locals rather than stick to "natives" then you wont be harrassed.

Life / Polish views towards the Brits and all other "natives" [26]

ok guys and gals, i have a little problem from reading these boards, it concerns the views of polish towards outsiders. i hear a lot of "brits" complaining about the polish attitude towards them. saying that they are treated like 3rd class citz, why i have problem with this is because i have always experienced nothing but friendliness. but i also think its down to the brits attitudes. i don't get anyone who wants to live in poland but doesn't want to integrate into the local customs and lifestyle. i have met lots off people who come live here but they live in the bubble of only going to places and meeting people who are from their same country....how stupid is that?!!

anyway, sorry for my rant, but id like to know other peoples opinions?

p.s sorry for spelling but its alot harder when you type;) :D

News / Poles in Iraq. What's the point? [160]

atleast support the men and women putting their lives on the line.

i will totally agree, their lives have been put into danger for political reasons, a soldiers first duty is to protect queen and country(in britain anyway). not to fight for oil hungry politicians who commit war crimes. i support the soldiers all the way. but fighting terroists is not about invading countries. if regime change was all that this war was about, then i think with m.i.6 and the c.i.a, they could have taken him out.

their was a report in the papers that suddam said he would exile himself to saudi for 1billion dollars, though i dont like the idea of bribing that monster, ask yourself this, is all the life that has been lost in iraq worth less than that???

News / Poles in Iraq. What's the point? [160]

Some masked "terrorists" shuld kidnap few Poles so polish gov can retreat soldiers from Iraq. thats how i support it.

i dont thinks thats the answer. the only answer is to withdraw troops, and replace them with u.n forces. that way the world has a say. although you could argue that we caused this mess, we should clean it up. british forces are now withdrawing in large numbers from iraq....which sounds good...but our guys are just being redeployed into southern afganistan.which i do agree is where we should have been in the first place, its a pity on their country that the world has forgot them since iraq.

US lost lots of lifes and much much more pesos than 1bill.

and that my point, it was a needless war in the first place

Quoting: Wlazski
Today, I heart that the Polish Gorvenment have abolished the compulsory military service, which is good. You can't force people to join the military, and its wased of money.

this will not take effect for 3 or more years im told. im not sure of the truth
the only way poles can get out off military service is by going to univercity, or not being medically fit for service.

UK, Ireland / Polish Thoughts on Britain and the British [273]

its ok, but my point would come down to this, how are norway, iceland and ireland doing. we have the north sea oil in our waters, plus, 1 third of the army are scots regiments, england also have alot to loose, why else are they so against scotland having independance?

The trouble is in Poland it will be the one person who wants to befriend you who will be most likely to stab you in the back! In Poland, I would trust nobody at all.

no michal that has only happened to you, thats why your contorted views on poland are taken with a pinch of salt

hehehe...you don't glow in the dark yet? lol

no but my third arms is smaller than the other 2;)
