Yes, the landscape is beautiful. Yellowstone Park, Rocky Mountains, the ocean. You have everything in one country. The north has snow and the south has summer all year long. People are generally friendly, depends where you are. Lot of retirees in Florida, Mexicans in Texas and California, Amish in Pennsylvania, Laotians in Wisconsin, Japanese in Hawaii, Polish in Chicago. And they all seem to get along for the most part.

The Polish economy is poor, and they are afraid that once they open up the borders, there will be too many leaving their country for a better life. Mexicans are also poor and they enter the US illegally. Many are caught and deported.

It's not their fault Poland has high unemployment. Thay want to live like you and me. They want to be happy, raise a family and lead a normal and productive life. To them this is the only way out. Try to be more compassionate towards the poor. We will all die and we can't take our treasures with us.

I can see your point, there are too many in one place. That's never good. My boyfriend is in Poland and he went to work in Sweden. There are many opportunities there, and Poles are very welcomed and treated with respect. They speak English there too. Perhaps some should go there? It's a lot closer, just take the ferry.

Sure, I've seen people throw a paper or two on a street in Poland. So? In America you get a big fine for littering.

But Poland is not as bad as a black community in Chicago. Boy, talking about filth! Their buildings are falling apart, the smell is unbearable, garbage everywhere, infected by rats. Poland is not that filthy. Polish people are very clean and tidy. So once in a while someone throws a paper on the street. Big deal. How do you know he was Polish?

I know a lot of Polish people who came to America. After the fist year they couldn't take it anymore, but waited another year. It got a little better. Next year was even better. And now there is no way they want to go back. I know some who are here 20 years illegally. They don't have a driver's license, don't have a green card and are finding ways to stay, for example through marriages to US citizens. (They pay them a lot of money for that).

And some can't go back to Poland, even for a visit, because thay overstayed their Visa and wouldn't be allowed to re-enter the US again.

I live close to a Polish family currently. Their son is 18 years old. He works illegaly. Doesn't pay taxes. He bought himself a Brand New motorcycle. He bought a Brand New Boat. Brand new Computer. Brand New TV. Brand New Stereo. They have to have everything Brand New and the Best. They like to show off what they got to their friends and family in Poland. In America, unless you are extremely rich, we mostly buy used stuff. Used boats, cycles, snomobiles, cars. etc. Whatever's the best deal.
