Study / Summer courses in Kraków 5596PLN - your thoughts? [17]

I just did a two week intensive course in Krakow and it was brilliant. I payed about £800 for two weeks (1 sunday off) one to one tuition for about 7 (lesson hours 50 mins ish) hours a day. It was spot on and definately improved my Polish. Plus I did a couple of excursions as part of the course.

Language / Learning Polish using audio? [17]

Hello.

There doesn't appear to be much out there, but does anyone know of any type of audio (mp3, cd's etc) to help learn Polish. I fear i've pretty much got all that's out there that I can find from England:-

Teach yourself polish CD
Before you land mp3 (itunes)
Vocabulearn (itunes and pretty crap I think!?)
BYKI
Pimsleur comprehensive (annoying that it's only 30 lessons when Russian has loads more!)

It's all for beginners and I think I now know all these. I wondered if there's anything a little more challenging?

Otherwise I think the only option getting someone who speaks Polish to record some for you?

Thanks, Kieron.

Study / Intensive Polish Courses - any good results? [5]

Hello.

I am interested in doing an intensive course in Poland which can take up to 2-4 weeks.

Have any of you partook in courses such as these and are they any good? I mean, what was the effect on your Polish as a result? Are they worthwhile? Which school is the best etc?

Thanks, Kieron.

UK, Ireland / Unemployed due to Polish who work in the UK [126]

Foreign [Polish] workers made a positive net economic contribution, it said, with their share of tax paid exceeding the cost of supplying public services.

note the bit about migrant workers not having a negative effect on wage levels.

Love / Discussion about Polish Men's Tempers [103]

They have a caveman mentality, they look dumb, and generally have low IQ, hence why they do manual labour work...!! If you are a polish girl, you can do a lot better than having a dumb looking ogre!!

Is this c**t being banned from this site?

Work / New English Teacher, CELTA course [9]

Thanks my friend, that's most interesting and helpful.

I am from the UK. I've only been to Katowice once for about an hour whilst changing trains. Whilst I appreciate it's not the prettiest, does it have a certain charm? What is the best thing about living there etc?

Thanks again, Kieron.

Work / New English Teacher, CELTA course [9]

Hello People.

I will be embarking on a CELTA course in the summer and would love to work in Krakow or Wroclaw.

Does anyone know what the market for new teachers is like out there, what kind of pay I can realistically expect and of any tips for first timers like me?

Many thanks, Kieron.
