Food / refusing polish food politely... [7]

So i was just wondering what would be a polite way to refuse food?

Just pass the Polish food over to another forum member instead. We'll gladly dispose of it for you.

USA, Canada / Polish Restaurants in Los Angeles/Riverside/Santa Barbara/Palm Spring [10]

Have you ever tried the ones at the Yorba Linda festivals?

I've tried the kielbasa at Yorba Linda. It's very good. I prefer the food better at the Los Angeles bazaar. My family's been going there since before I was born.

I don't know if I'm brave enough to attend the Yorba Linda festival this year. The Polish ex-boyfriend goes there. I don't want to bump into him, after our break up in June.

USA, Canada / Polish Restaurants in Los Angeles/Riverside/Santa Barbara/Palm Spring [10]

Thanks for info guys

Hi gloios,

I went to the Route 66 Festival in San Bernardino, California tonight. Gazzolo's European Restaurant had a food booth there. I had to have a Polish kielbasa & kapusta sandwich. It was out of this world! Delicious!

Traveling out to Southern California in a couple weeks (Los Angeles/Riverside/Santa Barbara/Palm Spring). Anyone else out there?

You may want to try Gazzolo's European restaurant in San Bernardino, Calif.
The owners are Polish & Italian. They have kielbasa to die for!

Love / The meaning of ring on Polish girl's middle finger? [25]

anytime I`ve ever seen a woman wearing a wedding band on the middle finger, it usually meant, she MAY have been married and now is presently open.

More like it's probably a family heirloom. She doesn't want to ruin the ring by sizing it down.

Love / The meaning of ring on Polish girl's middle finger? [25]

she emmigrated two years ago)

After two years you still don't know if she's married or not?

I don't know if there's any significance of wearing a ring on the middle finger in Poland.
Whenever I wear a ring on the middle finger, it's just because the ring is too big for my other fingers.

Travel / Upside Down House in Kaszuby, Poland [8]

Here is the picture of the upside-down house in Poland.

That looks so strange. I think I'd be afraid to enter the structure.

Work / Masters in Education - any chances to find a job in Poland? [3]

getting a TEFL degree? Or are there any jobs outside of education in Poland for a English speaker?

Hi pierogibandit,

You've chosen a cool forum name.

Regarding TEFL information, please take a look at some of the posts under the thread created by Keatsgray, It is entitled, "Any TEFL teachers out there?"

There are a few posts regarding the availability of teaching positions within Poland.
Perhaps some of the suggestions provided may be beneficial to you.

I'm interesting in receiving a teaching credential in elementary school education, within the state of California. I suppose this is due to that fact that many of family members are educators as well.

May you have great success in accomplishing your career goals.

USA, Canada / Americans who call themselves Polish - how do you feel about that? [112]

If their mother was 1/6 polish and their father was 1/6 polish, they would be 2/6 polish =1/3

:-)

Correction: The offspring would also be 1/6 Polish.
1/3 total contributed from both Polish parents x 1/2 (or.50) = 1/6

LOL, I can't believe your trying to deny that an American accent exists.
There is nothing wrong with having an accent by the way, everybody has one, regardless of your nationality.

Bye, I have to go and answer the phone with my American accent.

USA, Canada / Americans who call themselves Polish - how do you feel about that? [112]

The American accent is the most easily distinguished accent in the world, even easier to recognize than a scottish accent.

Oh, okay... if you say so??? I suppose that's why when my relatives and I travel abroad, people are usually not capable of distinguishing which country we live in.

You're generalizing too much dannyboy.

Aha! You've been Americanized....

That includes you too homeboy!
