They are not dangerous.Like right wing, not real nazis.

They're bad enough, they stir up a lot of hatred and violence

educated people who finished university, want to go to another country, and do this kind of jobs

not all of them are doing low paid jobs, most of the dentists at the practice I go to are Polish, the other one is Croatian. They are earning good money

the 5 % only.

no I disagree, I don't think it is as low as 5%, maybe initially some people came here on a low paid job to start with, but then they move on to a better job. Polish couple who are renting a house in my street, now want to buy a house in the street, they must be earning a reasonable amount between them to be able to afford to buy.

But will they ?

that goes for every election. I work at the polls in the elections here, mostly older people that vote, very few young people, so even if they weren't abroad would it make a difference? If they have a vote and they want to use it they will, will going home make them more inclined to vote?

Give it to us Americans for a year n' we'll make yer country as good as gold

Let's hope Poland never has a hurricane Katrina, because the way that was handled was a shining example of how not to run a country

apologies to American friends on PF, nothing personal

Life / Poor Poland? [34]

"quite successful man, 30 yrs old" will be kicking himself that he didnt take out a mortgage of his own and instead paid somebody elses... probably a foreign investor...

very true, and the mortgage payments will stay the same over 18 years, rents will rise in that time.

I had to remortgage 5 years ago when I got divorced, I have 20 years left on the mortgage, I've just taken out another mortgage fixed rate for the next 10 years, so I know my payments won't change. In 20 years I'll have no mortgage and no rent, and I will have the equity in the house to use should times get hard and i need the cash, instead of contributing to a landlords bank account

typical nominal interest rate = ~ 3%.

i wish I could get a mortgage with that low an interest rate, the thing is, in 20 years time, hopefully, the value of the property will be equal to if not more than the cost of the loan, also you can move, just remortgage, plus you can use the equity from the property you are selling towards the purchase of teh new property

Sometimes I notice that 'some' people giving so called 'good' advice about not investing in a certain property market are usually people with sufficient assets already built up ?

that's a very good point
