But that;s not what I am saying. To automatically jump to assigning blame to ANYONE doesn't always help. I am saying it takes two to make a problem or SOLVE a problem. How well a relationship works often depends on how you solve problems. I'm gonna look for a guy that I can cooperate to resolve problems in such a way, that they are really solved, and don't keep coming back to haunt us. With skills like that, a couple can really grow and deepen their trust.

Yeah, that's me too! I have a hard time believing people who say things like "I didn't know what I was doing". No matter how much I drank, I still knew my name, where I was, and what I was doing! But I don't really know what it is like for other people, because I'm not them. Maybe alcohol affects people differently. (It certainly seems to make some people agressive and ready for a fight).

I haven't gotten the impression from Sad Guy that cheating is likely to be habittual for him. He has remorse for what happened, he wants to keep the relationship. I think he will learn something from this experience. Why come on to a forum asking for advice, when he has to know he's probably going to get hammered by a lot of people who don't approve? Anyone can make a mistake. I think he is sincere.

They still have a lot to work out. Maybe they will get through it.....maybe they won't.
I think it will take her a long time to trust him again. He has to be willing to accept the consequences, and be patient while she tries to learn to trust him again. It is up to these two to decide if the realtionship is worth the price.

I think the stats are close to "even" between men and women in Europe. I was reading an article last month on MSN about the differences in attitudes about cheating between US in Europe. The article said the Europeans are much more discreet with affairs and are more likely to view them as non threatening to the relationship, whereas in America they are more "in your face" and usually result in breakups. I don't agree with everything in the article, but it was interesting. They also said that part of the allure for cheating was in "not getting caught" and that there is an understood contract in an affair "you don't do anything to jeopardize my primary relationship" or it is over.

This was very common a generation or two ago. I have seen many pictures like this in my family's album, as well. It is a little creepy, but it was a way of remembering the family member.

These days people do a memorial booklet with a current photo, and maybe a poem, and something about the memorial service, as a keepsake remembrance. Just one of the joys of Photoshop, I guess.

From what I can tell of reklama (adverts) on Polish media portals, sex is a big component in advertising, like what is in the US. But since I am still learning Polish, and can't always translate the verbiage/audio, I wonder if the content is toned down compared to what we are blasted with in the US. What about the commercials on Polish TV? How far do they go?

BTW, I really don't like for my daughter to watch channels that are not geared to children because of the racy commercials.

'No one has the right to interfere in Poland's decisions how to name streets and what monuments can be seen in the cities', Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski has said.

This is an internal affair of any country, the premier observed as Moscow voiced its criticism and concern over plans to remove Soviet-era monuments from Poland's landscape.

The article says there are about 2K communist era monuments in Poland. (Wow, that will be a big job to remove all those. What to do with them? Sell them on Ebay! Give money to charity. I think Russia can buy them back. Or trade for fuel. I'm being silly, here, ok?)

And I am wondering, what about all those old checkpoint markers you see on maps of Poland. Why are they still there? Would that not be an eye sore?

This country (US) has a strong religious "right" that has a lot of influence on media. This country was established by Christian sects who immigrated from England in order to practice their beliefs freely. Now we have a country that has some difficulty separating out Christian themes from "state"because is it so pervasive in the culture. There is always a controversy going somewhere between keeping freedom of religious expression (like prayer in school, or that the currency says in God we trust) and retaining family values. We have a generally conservative culture because of these roots.

Also, we have TV's with parental locks or chips to screen out programming. You can buy music Cd's with clean or explicit lyric content (labels on cds-and Wal Mart only sells clean versions by artists), radio stations are being pressured now to try to tone down what rap music they play that is offensive/degrading to women. Talk radio hosts are always getting in trouble for comments made, so that there is this battle between freedom of speech and those who want to censor what is said.

Not everyone here in the US is conservative, though. I am a liberal. (But religious conservatism has been hammered into me to a degree, anyway.) I was raised as Christian, and even though my faith is different now, some of that "programming" is still in me. But on the other hand, I really don't see the need for my daughter to watch individuals having sex on a TV show. I think sex education is the parents responsibility, although I don't have problems with it being taught in school. What I care about is that the messages sent to children regarding sex are balanced between aspects of responsiblity, safety, health, etc. Problem is, no one can agree on what that balance is because of varying religious ideas.

I think the media sends conflicting messages about sex that can cause young people to make poorly informed choices. I am wondering how Poland statistics compare to other European countries for teen pregnancy, and STD's. I don't think it would be fair to compare Poland to US because of population size. Maybe in Europe, ppl are desensitized to sex in media and advertising and don't pay that much attention anymore?

So then what is the point of the advert? It costs a lot of money here to buy commercial airtime, especialy in the prime time market. If I were selling something, I would want a return on my investment!

You also need to consider the value of the item being sent. If you have to insure/register it, it has to be signed for and secured at every point alond the way, which can add to the delivery time, up to one month instead of 10-14 days. But at least then you know it won't "disappear" in transit, which people have warned me about.

The recipient may also have to pay a duty upon receiving the parcel. That is what happened to me when I sent an Ipod to a friend for Xmas.
