News / Poland. Sold for nothing. [341]

However, it would be nice to have it because, for some reason, it annoys Russiansand it's always good fun to annoy them (it's kinda our national hobby :-))...

Constantine......did you get this part that Torq said? hehe I kinda found it funny. Russia would like for Poland to be shaking in their shoes, but that's not what happened...at least from this person's point of view! :) Go Polska!

Love / I'm pregnant by my Polish boyfriend but he wants me to abort it! [132]

For my beliefs, a fetus is like a suit of clothing for soul.
Soul enters the physical body just before, during or just after birth.
Up until that point of soul entering, the physical shell is just that...a shell, which may or may not be needed.

Also both souls, the mother and the child have an equal choice in the birth. One souls free will does not trump another souls free will.

The mother can change her mind and so can the soul who has agreed to be the child.

No harm, no foul.
But keep fighting over it anyway.......

News / Dealing with constant insults against Polish [323]

Every person, no matter what country he/she is from, has to deal with some kind of insults. Ignore it when you are dealing with a thick head, and only make the effort to challenge someone who will listen.

The best way to defeat the insults is to live a better life than the one doing the insulting! Chin up! :)

History / World War II - a tragic story for Poland and the World [489]

What is your point exactly? Hitler has been dead for 64 years now, people who served in Wehrmacht are dead or old, discussing any revenge or conflict 3 generations later when the situation has been stable for more than half a century is kinda pointless

Because he is obsessed.

I've never seen anyone so obsessed with hating Germans....he's made it into an art form.

If only he could find a breakfast cereal in the shape of little German soldiers, so he could have them for breakfast. Maybe put some ketchup on them so they look bloody. Freaky-deaky man!

History / Poland: dont blame us its the Germans. [174]

The Nazi creed, the most vile plague that ever crawled this earth, established it's evil largely through racial hatred. And you still haven't learnt the lesson that lies in the in the horrors brought about by negative racial discrimination have you?You are still banging on like Evil Adolph's biggest fans.Take the advice that Thumper's mother offered him,'If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.'

No, unfortunately most of the peeps on this thread can't see that they are guilty of fostering the same kind of hatred. I'm relieved whenever I see the existance of a handful of posters who are objective enough to see what is happening.

There are a lot of revenge-seeking creatures here......some because they have stories of how their families suffered and it has created a new generation of haters (we can debate whether or not they are justified in their hate all day and night, but that doesn't change the fact that the hate is being perpetuated).

I really believe that babies are born without hate. It is learned. The babies grow up and read things, hear things and make personal decisons about how to react to that information.

History / Territories of eastern Germany should rightfully belong to Poland? [161]

Re subject title, my own two cents are that Germany and Poland are both in the European Union and it is time better spent moving forward than backwards.

Amen!

But I think your comment should be put on Billboards and in public advertising. Maybe if everyone sees it and hears it enough times, the message might sink in!

And welcome back Pan Daffy! You have been gone too long! :)

History / Territories of eastern Germany should rightfully belong to Poland? [161]

Its necesery... its the matter of human rights, democracy, susteinable peace in Europe...

Vrana, how do you suppose this issue would even begin to be raised in today's political climate? There is no way that this idea would fly....

History / Territories of eastern Germany should rightfully belong to Poland? [161]

some would say that rebbelion of Lusatians and other awaken western Slavs that were/are forcible germanized, represent serious option that needs to be taken in consideration. But, i believe in peacefull dissolution of Germany, at least in its eastern regions

Instead of that idea, how about finding ways to get the Sorbs on the radar of German and Polish officials in order to bring in financial support?

That way the culture could be saved. Maybe Balkan Serbs could also provide assistance.

My guess is that the governments of these countries (Germany, Poland and Serbia) have bigger fish to fry on their political agendas than supporting a minority. US Native tribes have a similiar issue.

PS. Vrana, can't you find a nicer avatar to look at? Please? :)

History / Poland: dont blame us its the Germans. [174]

For sure we can blame the Germans as the proximate cause but we need to understand the fury of theirs after Versailles. Yes, I understand the anger of the Poles but not fully as I've never lived it.

Its another matter for speculation, but if the Versailles Treaty hadn't been so brutal and unforgiving, there might not have been a Hilter either. I read somewhere that he insisted that France sign its surrender in the same rail car where Germany had signed the Versailles Treaty as a personal retribution.

I think all of us, myself included, tend to forget what an earth-shaking event WWI was. WWII may have eclipsed the Great War in many ways, but the first war reshaped Europe in so many ways, could we even list them all?

History / Poland: dont blame us its the Germans. [174]

You mean a chauvinistic state filled with descendants of murderers who insolently try to shift blame onto the descendants of their victims and rewrite history?

There is a difference between "rewriting history" and bringing out facts that were ignored before!

There can't be that many "descendants of murderers" because there wasn't hardly any men left in Germany after WWII!

And what do you mean by "chauvinistic" state??????

History / Poland: dont blame us its the Germans. [174]

German unification came later than Polish reforms after Communism, but the changes in German economics were greater.
