News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

Is it not a wonder for anyone why the liberal left-wing and jewish establishment with such intensity without interruption are attacking the Catholic Church?

he is (Rydzyk) not a Catholic church but one person. Stop writing posts full of paranoia please.

Unfortunately, many here do not understand this, instead they keep repeating the same vain atheistic mantra as do lobotomized "liberals" and "progressive leftists".

Please stop stereotyping people. People have their own opinion and they don't have to belong to certain political party, nor be atheist to see the simple truth that indeed, Father Rydzyk made a RACIST remark towards his fellow Black brother. Fact. He got away with it this time, he might not next time. It has nothing to do with attack on the Catholic Church in Poland, not anywhere else.

News / Bandera bike rally in Poland. [17]

Spoiling Polish-Ukrainian relationship seems to be their main objective.

it takes two to tango, so both sides contribute to it. Just my 2 cents.

News / Bandera bike rally in Poland. [17]

Attacking both Poland and Ukraine but even with more aggression towards "Malorossiya" they use every opportunity to underline our conflicts.

hmmmmm......interesting. Can you provide a link?

News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

One has to be a native speaker in order to understand his intention.
I don't like him but for sure it wasn't some racist remark.
Rydzyk just tried to be nice lol.

I am sorry, but I am a native speaker, so you lose your case here. He is a public person and he should watch what he is saying. If I " farted" in public like he did, I would say that I was joking too. The problem is: most people would not believe me. Sorry for the comparison, but I am a very artistic type:)

Study / Do I really need a bulletproof vest to study in Poland? [35]

.no head injuries I've noticed :)

it takes a couple of weeks sometimes ;P

Seriously, armoured vehicles are the way to go. Make sure you mount them first with a few flame-throwers...

your military back ground shows, now stop fooling people here, although I enjoy your sense of humour.

......what's wrong with farting :P

nothing since it is a natural process or a poor diet, but RACISM is another story.

Life / Why do People spend half their lives complaining about living in Poland? [55]

if we didnt complaint, we wouldnt have things fixed...

yah, but there are people who exclusively complain and don't fix anything. Another type are people who fix things, so they don't have to listen to complaining anymore. LOL. It all depends on the situation.

Going back to the subject, people who moved to Poland and complain often have poor skills of dealing in stress in general, so I am sure they would be also complaining in their native countries.

First of all he is an idiot or even worse ... destructive idiot.
For that reason unable to anticipate the results of such a statement.
Political correctness is not his environment.

agree.

purely linguistically it was some racist remark

agree

for sure it wasn't his intention to say something like "Welcome ni..er".

nobody knows what his intentions were. Fact. It is not that important what he was trying to say, it is the outcome he will be judged on. Many famous people lost a lot because slips like that. THat is the price some have to pay for being in the public eye.

Life / Why do People spend half their lives complaining about living in Poland? [55]

i think that they just do not have the capibility to integrate.

some people simply don't.

It is hard in the begining

of course it is.

but if you start just to see the bad sides of the host country, your life abroad will be bitter.

true.

but yeah there are people who wants everything to be one as it is back home...thats silly,,just ask tj123

yes, he was an excellent example of how not to do it. I have met some people while on vacation and they were the same. Totally closed to new experience and wanted to be like it is at home. Why leave in an first place? It is of course more complicated then that. Moving to another country can be stressful, but how one adjusts depends largely on the attitude and the ability to be flexible.

News / Precedent set in Szczecin for offending homosexuals? [60]

It's a good idea. I hope it catches on.

you can sue people for that in the US, after all part of the US law is based on precedent.
Also, I think you are comparing the US to Poland, which is not a good way to go, because those 2 countries have different law systems and the human rights in the US has a long history, so I am not sure why would this become a trend in the US, if it has already been a part of the american law for a long time.

Well, freedom of speech…

I find that a lot of people are confused about freedom of speech. I am not sure if they do it out of lack of information, or they are just plain mean.

News / Precedent set in Szczecin for offending homosexuals? [60]

Of course I know but it's pointless to think that anyone around here will ever be sued over neighborhood gossip.

I am going to stress this again and maybe this time it will register with your: it was in POLAND, not in the US.
Please don;t make me become a broken record.

News / Precedent set in Szczecin for offending homosexuals? [60]

It would follow that the judge's decision has nothing to do with precedent setting.

good point, so legally it might not be a precedent, but since Harry used that word, I used it too (bad me). If this is the first time somebody is fined for speaking against homosexuals, then it would be a precedent for me, whether is has a stand in Polish law, or it does not.

News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

from Wiki:

Tadeusz Rydzyk and his independent media creations have made many critics among left-wing, liberal and centrist parties. The criticism, both from inside and outside of Poland, accuses the media run by Rydzyk of xenophobia and antisemitism. "Father Director" also opened The College of Social and Media Culture in Toruń, in which he educates future Polish journalists in the spirit of Catholic and Polish values. One of the examples of many persistent attacks on Rydzyk is an article on 9 July 2007 where Wprost magazine published part of a lecture allegedly given by Rydzyk in which he called the president's wife Maria Kaczyńska a witch who should euthanize herself. He was also to claim that the president had cheated him.[3] Rydzyk refused to apologize saying that the sound recording was "a manipulation" and a result of a "fight of spirits". The official Vatican web page states that Rydzyk's radio station "became much more involved in spreading risky politics than in spreading the Gospel."[4]

"Father Director" applied for the funds of the European Union alloted to boost Polish businesses and researchers from 2007-2013 on the grounds that his school is an "incubator for modern technology in the service of civil society."[5][6]

News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

me make it clear that I am not familiar with all the ins and outs of Rydszyk's financial and political affairs..

no , you are not. It would be wise to find out. It is not that difficult.

I would hope that he is still a good priest, and hasn't turned to the worship of money...

that does not seem to be the case, this is why he is very controversial in Poland and I think that he cashes in on popular anti- sentiments. This is how politically skilled he is.

Catholics, in the current world, are fair game for any accusation...

I said that before. It has nothing to do with the CC in Poland, but it has a lot to do with him as a person. Nobody accuses him for nothing - he provides a lot of reasons.

Now, if the chief rabbi of Poland was called a 'huckster', there would be universal outrage.

that would be a discussion for another thread, don't you think?
