The Union of Lublin (Lithuanian: Liublino unija; Belarusian: Лю́блінская у́нія Polish: Unia lubelska) replaced the personal union of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania with a real union and an elective monarchy

Lithuania had been increasingly on the losing side of the Muscovite-Lithuanian Wars and by the second half of the 16th century it faced the threat of total defeat in the Livonian war and incorporation into Russia. The Polish nobility (the szlachta) on the other hand were reluctant to offer help to Lithuania without receiving anything in exchange.

Within the Union Lithuania had to accept the loss of Podlachia, Volhynia, Podolia and the Kiev regions, former territories of the Grand Duchy that were transferred to the Polish Crown.

Pawian - they wanted to be part of Poland because they feared Russians ... later they murdered their protectors.

The problem with Russia is that ... this country is concious of differences between estern and western europe and has knowledge about advantages of east ... what means that they know that they can't accept western rules if they want to win. They can always join borg world (I support this idea) but I am not so sure about borg society future in western europe ... anny way. western europeans and eastern europeans have their advantages ... and of course weak points ... and I don't think that Russia is going to accept situation where her strong points are going to be forbiden ... and where west promots its strong points as civilizated consesus.... as it is now.

In the first quarter of Polish factories produced a total of 1,148 buses, almost 33 per cent . more than a year ago

- This result is due to growing exports at a very unfavorable situation prevailing in the domestic market, - says Alexander Kierecki of analyzing the company's market JMK . Exports hit until 1004 vehicles built in the country (an increase year on year by almost 54 percent . ) .

The largest producer in the country remains MAN (38 per cent . Market share) . Behind him are : Solaris Bus & Coach (20.6 percent . ) , Scania (19.5 percent . ) And Volvo ( 10.4 percent . ) .

Well we have crisie in Europe but it doesn't change the fact that Poland is 3rd the biggest bus manufacturer in Europe (after Germany and Sweden).

Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, the president of the city of Warsaw said, that the Poland's capital is starting to invest in the rail transport and this contract is one of the things proving it.

Well ... do you know history of Gdańsk.



Citizens of Gdańsk ordered their coat of arms made form stone. It has been made form with few changes... Lions were looking on south (not on each other) for help from weaker and weaker Poland (they feared stronger and stronger Prussia). Gdańsk citizens ethusiasticly greated this new version of their Coat of Arms. It was before partitions.

I am not trolling. I'm telling simple truth.

Poland is like little child which by mistake has been send on winter holidays on ... Syberia. Now after come back small poor Poland is in nice club, Poland has cola for free, chips, TV ... other childern from the club who stayed in home durring Polands trip on Syberia some times make jokes from Poland... that Poland is poor, that clothes are not new (but alwyas clean) that she has funny complexes but all in all club isn't bad.

In next 10 years Poland should concentrate on herself, buy nice skirt, bike, playstation ... and now Poland should ask some chidren about the toys which were stolen ... and why?

It is not Russian agent advice ...

It is how I see the right way of life for my country.

The Cost:

The Poles are the people who really lost the war.

Over half a million fighting men and women, and 6 million civilians (or 22% of the total population) died. About 50% of these were Polish Christians and 50% were Polish Jews. Approximately 5,384,000, or 89.9% of Polish war losses (Jews and Gentiles) were the victims of prisons, death camps, raids, executions, annihilation of ghettos, epidemics, starvation, excessive work and ill treatment. So many Poles were sent to concentration camps that virtually every family had someone close to them who had been tortured or murdered there.

There were one million war orphans and over half a million invalids.

The country lost 38% of its national assets (Britain lost 0.8%, France lost 1.5%). Half the country was swallowed up by the Soviet Union including the two great cultural centres of Lwow and Wilno.

The fact that Poland wasn't compensatet is strange, very strange. If Poland allied with Soviets in 1939 ... wouldn't be harmed so much. All in all finaly sobody ealse had taken compensations which should belong to Poland. Wilno and Lwów have been taken away ... population murdered or expeled ... ... Poland should fight for what should belong to her.... Think twice when it comes to aliances.... sometimes smaller evil is better...

I am afraid you won`t find it. The number 500.000 applies to all Polish victims in the East, most of them died at Soviet hands.

It doesn't change the fact that according to Davies they murdered 500 000 Polish people and criminals are their heros... Lwów has been ethnicly cleanised.

As to history I've just presented paranoid perspective when Ukes are the good and Russians the bad. It seems that in 20th century it wasn't only the Russians.

When Russia will live in good relationship (parnership) with Europe - Poland will have very comfortable life. (Ukes in such situation will have safty as well).

It is natural that old people who were born in once Polish Ukraine have fond memories of their home. But they are individuals who belong to the past, while we are talking about modern Polish interest.

Few $ which could be transfered to Poland isn't the past. What is more, nobody will take them to NATO (aliance stability). EU - look on european coutries budgets and debt - forget about it. Even if mission promoted by Pawian had chances - they would be our natural enemy in EU... what is more they wouldn't think about business but just to prove us something.

What is more, for celebrations they make in Lwów:

How about this? What is the name of the legendary Polish guy who was given a piece of jewellery by a certain foreigner but refused to accept it, saying famous words?? :):):)

Let me ask you again. Why are you speaking on behalf of Poland and Poles and demanding anything from Ukraine if you aren`t Polish? Leave Poles and Ukrainians alone and let us develop good relations. If you want to join us, we will gladly accept you, because we have nothing against Russians. They are great people, indeed.

I don't know your measures of Polishness but if it is Ukrainian a ss licking ... we are not in the same company :)

What is more I am not sure if you are talking on behalf of Poles who lost something there.

You are spreading false info, Solo. The picture you posted doesn`t present the Polish victims of UPA. They are gypsy children killed and hanged on a tree by their mentally ill gypsy mother. The incident happened before the war and a dozen years ago it surfaced with a false attribution of UPA atrocities. But Polish historians already resolved the matter. As a non-Polish guy, you can`t know such things.

They started war murdered milons of Poles with for exampe their Ukrainian allies ... and lost.

Why German allies got Lwów ? Murdered 500 000 and rest was expeled to Poland.

Today they celebrate SS Galitizen as their heros.

As I've said:

Let them celebrate their heros alone with SS posters on Lwów streets.
