i was born and raised in Krakow... my family used to live in Krowodrza (by Al. Slowackiego) and then moved slightly East... to Nowa Huta (center) haha... i know Krakow really well and i love it... i love every bit of it...

and to the point....
i read a lot what's going on in Krakow, what's new, what's old... and i am proud of my city... but some info is just jaw dropping... i tend to constantly ask myself 'really??? really??? wtf!'...

ahhh.... i guess not everybody see my beloved city the same way i do... (i appreciate to know others point of view)... but

WTF?!! REALLY?? REALLY? NO WAY!.... hahaha....

I have seen 2 ways to say "What is your name"

1. Jak się nazywasz?
2. Jak masz na imię?

Mam na iemę

Mam na imię... - means 'My name is...'

I learned it as Kartofle, does this show the different dialects?

Krakow - ziemniaki... one ziemniak - it's common...
Silesia - kartofle... one kartofel
Poznań - pyry... one pyra
Kaszuby - bulwy... one bulwa

it asks to give the last name (full name) also...
'Jak masz na imię' asks only for the first name...

i'm working on making polish bread right now.. i think i have all the ingrdients finally. :) pics to come

i heard that when you make bread, you have to be really angry... to squash the dough properly... ;)
