According to thenews.pl Polish police are to have group prayers to ask God to reduce the high number of serious road accidents in Poland....... Maybe we all ought to have a prayer before driving on Polish roads...?

Polish roads were not designed the way the autobahn was.
The roads are far too small and there are too many cars on those roads.
The width of a highway in Poland is about the size of a residential street in Texas where the speed limit is 35 mph.
I would rather invest in mass transit like trains. Lets face it in Poland you can drive for two hours straight and only be 100km from where you left.

Having visited Poland on many occasions since I left 25 years ago, I have to say that Polish people are some of the most aggressive drivers I've come across. I always pray before I drive in Poland. I can't believe at some of the risks people take on the roads, even in terrible weather as I experienced this past Christmas while visiting family.

I have a high powered Japanese rally spec (300hp+) car, and always have these chumps in Audi's and BMW's who try to prove they are better than me.

They take stupid risks like crazy passing in traffic to try to accomplish this.

As I have logged 1000's of kms on Polish highways, I have seen so many stupid moves.

E.G.
a)Dad getting impatient with the Maluch in front of him doing 70km/h, and pulls a pass on a blind corner with his car loaded with wife and 2 kids. :O WTF??

b) 2 lane highway- The idiot in a Smart Car pulling a pass on a transport(semi's) truck in the dark, with oncoming traffic of 3 transport rigs. He forced the oncoming traffic into the shoulder. All 50cm of it. I wanted to hand out a "stupid idiot ticket"

I could go on until my head starts typing jibberish cuz i've fallen asleep on the keyboard.

What is it? Skyline impreza or evo?

Shame that theres nowhere in Poland to unleash those 300 horses as the roads are so poor,

Its not that bad as long as you keep an eye out on whats overtaking you and who's overtaking coming at you.

I had an incredibly dangerous scenario two days ago, i was driving around 80kmh with my wife in the car so never fast, a car over took me on a blind corner and wham there was a car coming in the opposite direction fast. I broke slightly to give him the space to overtake and tuck back in but at the same time he changed his mind to brake and pull back in behind me. I noticed his predicament and quickly accelerated and he got in back where he started.

What an *******.

08 STi. There are some good highways out here to stretch the legs.130km/h limits (which I adhere to) haha. Germany is a 20 minute drive away. Hello Autobahn!!

The accidents ratio are rising. So its my advice to all of you to drive slow.

The majority of crashes happen at speeds less than 60km/h. For example >transport.govt.nz/assets/NewPDFs/Speed-Crash-Factsheet.pdf

what is "the accidents ratio are rising" mean?? Ratio of what to what?

you re alive only thanks to cops prayings

Praying does absolutely nothing. The proof is all around to support this. I'm not at all religious, nor is my family. My sister prayed that my mom would beat her cancer and dad would beat his kidney failure.... both died 29 days apart last year. 68&75. Where was her god???????

And what is with sports players who say they want to "thank god" for the win???
Where are they saying "I want to thank god for making my team lose the game and hence out of the playoffs with no chance to make some more money" ?

this is a topic I had to comment on, I've only been here for a few months but the poles are without doubt the worst drivers I have ever come across!!! And to go back to nauczyciels point about the speed of drivers, I honestly believe that the slower drivers are at least partly to blame for the number of accidents. I mean, do Poles understand the concept of a fast lane???? not in my experience , theyre quite happy to trundle along in the fast lane at 60km an hour and when it causes other drivers to start getting irate and attempt to undertake them, you guessed it, thats exactly the moment they decide to pull in and have the audacity to look at you like your the idiot for undertaking ! I was told that it was extremely difficult to pass your driving test here, I almost choked on my zapiekanka when I heard that comment :0)

I don,t know how that compares with the UK ...but it seems like a hell of a lot of drunk drivers....

As an agnostic, I really must say these are some of the stupidest reasons I've heard for disbelieving God. To begin, SOME scientific proof suggests there is no God, it hasn't proven it yet. Vast numbers of scientists believe in religion, and in reality not all science deals with whether God exists or not.

Secondly, your parents died in their 70's, what do you expect mortality on life and invincibility? God doesn't give this. Being that the average life span for men in Poland is 68 and for women 70, this is quite good. They were old, what did you expect?

Thirdly, I can tell you that God could care less about any damn sports that are played for fun, and he can ever care less about the idiots who waste their hard-earned money betting on it; that's their problem, not God's. Same goes for idiots driving, God isn't going to take control of your car. God never said, build a ****** road system, with crappy driver education, and a bad policing system; that's a human made error not a God made error.

If these were the reasons your ENTIRE family as you claim because irreligious then it is quite weak minded of them...
