Love / Do Polish Women with Blonde hair look more beautiful than with dark hair? [25]

The worst thing a blond polish woman can do is dye her hair black. Very fake and unattractive IMO.

it's called Artificial Intelligence ;)

I prefer a dark haired woman, intelligent, with humor, romantic, and Slavic. :)

pick 2, and be happy if she likes you back :D

Hair is very important attribute

it's also a genetic one, over which we have no control (not yet, anyway). being born with blond hair doesn't make you stupid right away, just like being born with dark hair doesn't make you any more valuable. it's just hair. and while i personally do prefer dark hair over blonds, all my past g/f have been predominantly blonds.

it cannot go unnoticed

neither can a personal hygiene, which i think is more important then the color of the hair ;)

hair color as a beauty characteristic? i guess, as long as it's clean and taken care of, the color itself shouldn't make any difference. it's all a matter of a personal preference. some people like blonds, others prefer brunettes, and then there are those who love red heads.

besides, we all know it's the inner beauty that's important ;)

USA, Canada / Friendly Polish in Chicago [17]

i've been there a total of ONE time, but i agree... quite an attractive store. i should go back there one of these days. i'm fluent in polish, too.

USA, Canada / Friendly Polish in Chicago [17]

^^don't forget Holy Trinity Church right by the 90/94 and Division.

and then there's that Jackowo, or whatever.. but i don't even know where it's located.

if you're on the north side, then Belmont/Milwaukee/Irving park is definitely a good place to look. over by Harlem and Cumberland there's also many polish people there.

also, kksunil, to your list i can add Paris Cafe on 5301 W Belmont Ave, Krokodile on 6004 W Belmont Ave, and UN Club on 3548 River Rd in Franklin Park. personally, i haven't been to Paris Cafe in well over a year, and the last time i went to Krokodile was last August and from what i can remember, not many people were there. never been to UN, but i hear it's a nice place.

on the south side, Archer and Cicero is a nicely populated area by polish people. at least that's been the case last time i've been there few years ago.

as to why poles aren't friendly in chicago to the "outsiders"? dunno... maybe they just don't speak enough english to actually be polite? either that, or they're just a-holes, and i wouldn't worry about them too much.

Love / Where did you meet your Polish other half? [33]

since i'm single right now, i can only relate to the most successful relationship that i've ever been to, which lasted 4 years. i met the girl online, on a now not existing Odigo IM client. great times, which i do miss from time to time, but i'm actually happy to be single (and have been for the past few years).

Love / I can't trust Polish women any longer - where to meet a foreign girl? [123]

you mean mail order scams and guaranteeed ripoffs ? ;)

they can't all be ripoffs. my sister used to work for this weird light-bulb company, where the CEO did in fact was married to a bride he ordered online. it was about 7 or 8 years ago, so i'm sketchy on the details, but from what i recall he was happy because "she cleans, cooks, waits for him in bed every night, and doesn't speak english". but to each his own.

either way, i hope no poor soul ends up with OP until he grows a pair, and gets his act straighten out.

Love / I can't trust Polish women any longer - where to meet a foreign girl? [123]

but only the Polish B-tches are able to hurt in a really low-down way

just out of curiosity, have you ever been anywhere outside of Wroclaw? how about outside of Poland? and not just for a day or two... i'm talking about actually spending time with people from different country, and actually GETTING TO KNOW THEM.

dude... you're a control freak. maybe i'm wrong, and perhaps you're just coming across like a total douche bag, which Seanus has pointed out already. take a chill pill. you're only 22!!! you're barely passed puberty. enjoy your single life while you can.

Love / I can't trust Polish women any longer - where to meet a foreign girl? [123]

who would do literally everything to make a woman happy

that's your problem right there...

That's why I'm going to meet a foreign [USA, UK, Canada or Australia] female for long-term relationship.

do you really think that's going to make a difference?

I'm not a type of dominant male

this one is quite obvious

preferably 24-30 but if she was really interesting, then even 17-18 would do

lol... in my experience girls under 25 are predominantly immature. there are few exceptions to the rule, obviously... but don't get your hopes up. with that in mind.. if you're considering someone at the age of 30, you shouldn't be considering 17 year old kids to be your perfect match.

without searching the whole internet

dude.. go out, and have some fun. you have better chances of meeting some great people in Wroclaw then you do on this or any other web site.

Work / Jobs in Krakow (for mathematicians?) [3]

Dunno about that. I’ve been in this exact same situation years ago, and decided against it. And it worked out well for both of us. And my move back to Poland isn’t set in stone yet. I’m just testing the waters now.

Work / Jobs in Krakow (for mathematicians?) [3]

I’ll spare you the details; let’s just say people do stupid things when they fall in love.

I’ve been in US almost half of my life. I’ve only finished grammar school in Poland, and I got my High School and Univ done here in the US (I have a degree in mathematics with concentration in actuarial science). What is the current job market in Poland (Krakow to be precise) for a person like me? I’d like to avoid teaching positions, but if nothing else…

And suggestions?

Love / In love with polish cleaning woman, but don't speak an OUNCE of polish :( [57]

*letter start*

Hello beautiful.

I have been so frustrated since i cannot talk to you in your language yet, but i am slowly learning. I find myself looking forward to seeing you each day and feel my heart beating a bit faster when i spot you, and you smile at me with that beautiful smile of yours. That only makes my heart beat even faster.

I would very much like to get to know you better, and would be very pleased if you would perhaps go on a date with me?, have dinner some place and sit and learn more of each other. Would you like that?.

*letter finish*

how's this? on the second thought, maybe some other people would like to comment on this, since you can't read it... yet ;)

//letter star

To powoduje, że me serce bije szybciej i szybciej.

Bardzo bym chciał abyś to Ty nauczyła mnie polskiego. Chce poznać Ciebie lepiej i spedzić z Toba czas. Być może kolacja we dwoje da nam dobry początek na to, aby poznać kilka nowych slów?

//letter end.

good luck dude!

Love / polish boyfriend has wrecked my english [48]

DRJ, it's not just you. everyone i know has undergone this change, and it's not something you can avoid. when i talk with my sister or her husband, almost every time a silly word slips into our conversation. it makes for a good joke most of the time. whenever a person gets exposed to another language, things like that do occur.

USA, Canada / Best and cheapest airline from chicago to Poland? [7]

to check on prices for car rentals go to Hertz website, select Poland for country of origin and whatever dates you plan to stay there.

and i usually buy my tix from travel agents (DOMA i think is the name of it). but i haven't been to Poland in over 7 years, so i'm a little out of touch with those things.

USA, Canada / Good job for Polish in USA [34]

Being Polish isn’t an obstacle in getting a good job. With an exception of becoming a president, you can do whatever you want (as long as your communication skills are adequate).

USA, Canada / US auto bailout [49]

should've gotten a Honda instead ;)

on a more serious note, even if they do fold, i doubt that you will have trouble finding spare parts for you car if needed. i wouldn't worry about that. and i really don't think that GM will just close down. even though i do consider American automotive industry to be a complete crap, it is after all an iconic industry for America and it needs to stay afloat.

USA, Canada / No US Visa Waiver for Poles - 8/9/07 [96]

Actually, so few people are coming/travelling, that LOT has reduced their flight schedule quite a bit.

and jacked up the prices to even further discourage people from using LOT.

USA, Canada / Why would someone leave Poland for the US? [120]

nowadays they say that poland will stop mandatory service and have a professional army in the future. I havent met anybody who actually served in the army

this fall army drafted its last recruiters. starting january 1, Poland will have a professional army. however, when my friend went to Poland earlier this year (he's 26 and has been living in US for some time now) he was detained by the police for 2 weeks for "running away from the army duty". at least that was the official reason for his arrest. i thought he was joking til he showed me his police papers. it was quite a story.

USA, Canada / Why would someone leave Poland for the US? [120]

yeah... they'd probably give you a category A... ready to go :)

doubt it. i'm "suffering" from the rib cage deformation. all my ribs grow inwards. why would they need a guy in the army, who can barely breath as he runs? lol

USA, Canada / Why would someone leave Poland for the US? [120]

hi there, just joined the forum, so i thought i'd share some thoughts with you.

i left Poland basically for three reasons:
1. my entire family was in US since the late '80's
2. i didn't really see myself achieving anything in Poland, but then again... it was a poor judgment on my part
3. didn't want to join the army :D although with my medical condition i'd probably get a category D, i wouldn't want to risk it ;)
