What a drag...We were forced to go

What ws so bad about it?

Did it have something to do with the commies?

May Day was the Soviet's main holiday. Little kids had to dress up, do dances and things.

I was in high school and we wore these wonderful navy blue fartuchy with a white kołnierzyk and a red tarcza on the left arm with the name of your school. And you had to wait, and wait and wait. Thank god for those ice scream and water stands along the road.

And the worst part was getting home. It was a national holiday. No buses were running. Well they were, every 1-2 hours and when they came, they were packed full, so had to wait another 1-2 hour for the next one.

Polish Parade was awsome, the weather was sunny and a bit windy from the lake otherwise it was great. It flew by so fast I didn't want it to end so fast :( oh well there is always next year!

I've never made it to the parade, there is always something, every year, like today. My friend from Florida came to Chicago to put her mom on the plane to Poland. Her mom lives with her and she is "getting rid" of her for four months.

Of course we had to meet for lunch and a couple of hours of chatting face to face after that. I see her only when she passes thru Chicago for one reason or another, once or twice a year. So, again - the parade went by my nose.

Guess who joined us for lunch? :)
