Most Afghans are not Talibs, smashing majority of fighting people are doing so because it is tradition. They fought against British, Soviets and now they fight against NATO.

NATO spends bilions on war agains some Afghan peasnants ... and some Talibs.

Instead of spending money on protection and some precise atacks.

I am just thinking ... how it was possible that NATO has been catched in trap invented by America.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Cyclone

Operation Cyclone was the code name for the United States Central Intelligence Agency program to arm the Afghan mujahideen during the Soviet war in Afghanistan, 1979 to 1989

Carter's national security advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, has stated that the U.S. effort to aid the mujahideen was preceded by an effort to draw the Soviets into a costly and presumably distracting Vietnam War-like conflict. In a 1998 interview with the French news magazine Le Nouvel Observateur, Brzezinski recalled: "We didn't push the Russians to intervene, but we knowingly increased the probability that they would... That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Soviets into the Afghan trap... The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter, "We now have the opportunity of giving to the Soviet Union its Vietnam War

when Soviets invaded Afghanistan their soldiers (not commanders who invaded Afghanistan for much different reasons) thought that are bringing happines for them. Soviets had support from Afghan communists but most Afghans were against them.

To be honest it was Amrican trap (planed by Brzeziński) ... and Soviets were catched in this trap...

Now NATO is there ...

In my opinion this war is mistake, I doubt in democracy there ... maybe in case of long occupation it would be possible but I am not sure about that.

If NATO spend money on anti terrorist protection instead of this war ... it would be much safer in Europe and America.

News / Polish politician thrown off Lufthansa plane. Just enjoy. [60]

Where is the logic in Rokita's and the Profs behavior?

It is rahter debate about Jan Rokita.

Arrest for Jan just for hanging coat in wrong place is strange and it doesn't help in our neighbourhood.

For me it was strange that Germans reacted in such way

... when they realized that Rokitas are well known ... they excused.

If this people weren't well know it would look much different.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelly_Rokita

. She was born in the Soviet Union in an ethnic German family, lived in Germany, where she obtained a university degree in Slavic studies. Rokita first visited Poland in the 1980s on a scholarship to the Jagiellonian University to study the language of political propaganda in the Polish People's Republic

History / UPA - Ukrainian Insurgent Army. How they killed poles in Volhynia (1943). [139]

Nathan is right. Original Polish nobility gave for Lithuanian elites the right to use our coat of arms. Lithuenias gave for Poland Ukriane and Poland helped Lithuanians in war against Russia. More or less it is how commonweath has been formed.

You can find some people who use my coat of arms and are origianly form Lithuanians.

Later elites in Ukraine and Lithuania have chosen Polish identity - locals started to call them Polish lords. (we are talking about 15-17 century).

Later Ukrianians murdered in revange for Polish lords in deep Ukriane ethnic Poles in Lwów.

History / UPA barbarian murders on Polish and Jewish neighbors during WW2 [150]

Germans know more about "blind spot" than your retarded brain will ever learn. I met many Germans in my beloved Lviv and they happened to know a lot of our history and culture.

It is good direction. Knock this doors but it is going to be very hard to find support there. Germans are not going to risk good relationshp with Russians for Ukrainians (even they like Uks much more than Russians) :)

History / UPA barbarian murders on Polish and Jewish neighbors during WW2 [150]

west Ukrainians were rather supporting Nazi Germany.

After the war they fought against Red Army what haven't stoped them from confiscation of Polish properties in Lwów (Poles in Lwów were ethnic Poles 60%)

blame it on socrates, I had to dig myself out of my Ukie hole;)

That is why Polish communists were right.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Wisła

Operation Wisła (Polish: Akcja Wisła) was the codename for the 1947 deportation of southeastern post-war Poland's Ukrainian, Boyko and Lemko populations, carried out by the Polish Communist authorities About 200,000 people, mostly of Ukrainian ethnicity, residing in southeastern Poland were forcibly resettled to the new territories in the north and west of the country. The operation was named after the Vistula River, Wisła in Polish.

The stated goal of the operation was to suppress the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), which had been terrorizing and murdering Armia Ludowa units and ethnic Polish civilians in those southeastern territories since 1944.[2] The direct pretext for Operation Wisła was the March 28, 1947, assassination of the Polish communist General Karol Świerczewski in an ambush which had allegedly been set up by the UPA's Chrin and Stach sotnias. About 12 hours after the incident, the Polish communist authorities took the official decision to deport all the Ukrainians and Lemkos from the southeastern territories of the People's Republic of Poland (1944-1990).

History / UPA - Ukrainian Insurgent Army. How they killed poles in Volhynia (1943). [139]

The problem is that in times of Cossacks if Polish peasants wanted to change the system my Polish ancestors would smash your ancestors with German, Czech, Hungarian nobility ... without anny hesitation, of course first to help would be aristocracy from our commonwealth.

If Polish worst enemies had similar problems with their peasants ... and our peasants wanted similar right ... of course in such Polish aristocracy would help them.

Look on French revolutuion and european reacion on this event ...

To be honest it is PiS and post communists who love Ukrainians and prefere to avoid debates about darker sides of Ukrainian history.

To be honest Ukraine is so young country struggling with one common identity that Kaczyński and Kwasniewski are right at this point. They are still not ready for such debate.

they didn't judge people based on their position in the world, money or origin - like great "republic" at that time.

Let it be so - be good Cossack who value freedom don't judge people based on their position, money and origin. Poland is good for you and don't want to conquer your land. Indpendent democratic Ukraine living in peace with Poland is what we need.

Oh yes they wanted. If you want to talk about ethnicy of Cossacks ... they were bunch of criminals from whole Europe... Spain, Germany, Poland, Lithuania ect. Everybody who had problems with law in his country could join Cossacks.

Cossacks made uprising not to protect Ukrianian peasants but to increase their sallaries, they wanted more numerous conscrptions in to Crows army.

Ukrainian peasan't had hard life as Polish peasants, German peasnats, French peasants ... in 18 - 19 century whole europe endend this system and now money run the world.

Build your national identity on what you want ... you can do it on Cossacks. Poles don't consider Ukrianians to be Poles but have more realistic view on what have happend in the past.

So if Jeremi was Ukrainian all this battles about which you have mentioned before were between Ukrianians ? :)

It was Jeremi who wanted to suppres Cossack uprising in blood. Cossacks made uprisng for higher salaries ... and it is different story. If you want to build your national identity on cossacks ... let it be so but then Jeremi was Pole. If you want to bild your national identity on Jeremi ... then ...

the fact is that UPA worked with Nazis extensively when it was not fighting them and that UPA in methods and ideology can easily be compared to the worst murderers of the Nazi regime.

I agree about this part of history but modern Ukraine isn't threat for Poland.

News / More and more jobs moving to Poland from other parts of Europe... [50]

Of course PO is much better when it comes to reacions on crisise

I hope that PO is not going to listen voices like "They don't react" "We need to act we need to stimulate economy, we need to spend money"

Polish debt is much more expenisve due to higher interest rates and this year is going to be hard for those who are looking for money to borrow...
