Life / Expats in Poland: Are you going to live in Poland long or short term? [65]

re - Wroclaw; I also strongly oppose to the Cash comment as some person above.
An expat is a person who has chosen to live in another country for a long period of time. I agree with that. Cash?
PLS! Of course it helps, but really hardly relevant if one makes up his/her mind to relocate.
But not here to argue.
Going to use caps here, please do not b offended; just want 2 b noticed.
My question to all of you is: REGARDLESS OF RELATIVELY CHEAP LIVING . WHAT IS SO ATTRACTIVE ABOUT POLAND? This is a genuine question. Be honest! Thanx.

News / Poland's Future Includes Fewer Poles, More Foreigners [324]

If I may jump in just once - and PLS! do not kill me, all U chauvinistic Polish Superior Polish subjects - if you happened to learn some of your country's history > Ukraine used to be a part of Poland for some time. As was LITWA and a few other Baltic Republics.

Russkis meddled and now we hate one another for ever as planned... whatever.

Not sure how old or young you people are > just think about it for one second: (going to use large caps here, but do not want to offend anybody)

ALL THAT NOISE ABOUT DIFFERENT RACES VISITING AND TAKING OVER; TAKING THE JOBS ETC.... PLS! what r U dudes thinking? Almost everybody I c here is living in Dublin, London or Amsterdam. And I've meet Brits or French visiting the country where I live and complaining about the influx of Poles. Always adding that they r the best nannies and builders, but still complaining.

So,what is the difference between U people traveling abroad in search for better life and other people searching for the same thing in PL?

Just think about it for a while.
Live and let others to live.

Travel / Possible film shoot in Lodz, Poland - need advice [17]

Try below
akfsawa.com
or find Waclaw Szewczyk online. the club does not exist as such anymore (after over 35 years) by the founder and the core of it > Waclaw Szewczyk is still there, doing what the can.

He is an absolutely fantastic person and will do all in his power to help you with the location and sets. Whatever U need.
One problem here > he does not speak any English, and I - as much as like your idea and would love to help U > will never post my personal email here.

Therefore > contact him,as all his info is out there. He will get somebody (most likely me) to translate it all and get very excited. Honestly, he is the nicest person on earth and will do everything to help you.

Good luck! I can not help directly as I live on the other side of the globe, but if your project is genuine > we can make it happen,

regards and GOOD LUCK

Life / I AM BLACK. SHOULD I MOVE TO POLAND? [107]

Hi! Replying to your message @ random after reading all the advices about racism in PL. Very new to this Forum, so do forgive me using U as an 'bouncing board'. LOL

Here is little something from me if U can bother to read it:

Well, firstly > about a year and half ago, I have visited the same Site and stumbled on some heated discussion about Jewish issue in PL.

Frankly, I could not believe what I was reading; the amount of hatred, intolerance and prejudice has astounded me. Considering that most of the participant here are rather young and eloquent people - I have expected some more restrain in opinions.

Silly enough - felt compelled to voice my views about tolerance and non racist issues. (in English)
To my horror - I was bombarded back with an avalanche of abusive responses - somehow it was assumed I was an American; meddling with Polish politics, not knowing anything and how dared I to speak up for the F....g Jews?

I got totally ostracized for asking a few simple question about ethnic minorities.

Now, 2 years later I am back and very careful as it is so easy to offend you people.
Sat here for days, just reading what you people have to say - too scared to participate after the last time -and soaking the vibes.

Happy to observe that the tone has changed a bit - Hey! Jamaicans r invited but warned as well!
I am Polish born. Living all over the world for about 25 years and considering returning home. After looking @ your site with interest > I feel very much like that black dude ... no idea what to expect. ...Meaning: one day I see open minded people like you today, tomorrow there will be some war going on about Gruzja or never ending Jewish issue.

Hope U know what I mean.

Also, about 'underlined/hidden' racism.
Something tragically funny for you all.

When I have first arrived to the country of my destination, as a refugee... I was taken for a walk around town by a boy who was born here but of Polish origins.

At some point, we stopped at the traffic lights and ha said to me:

"These r the traffic lights. When they turn GREEN - U walk; when they stay RED - you wait. Do U have traffic lights in Poland?"

I was just about to kill him, but responded calmly instead:
" No, we do not have traffic lights in PL as we all ride donkeys, therefore we do not need traffic lights."
And guess what - he believed me!

So, what do U call it? racism or total ignorance?

Regards to all, thanx 4 listening
