Walking with my girlfriend last night we were approached by a guy who then tried to punch me for no reason other than i was speaking english.

I am saddened by this, as its my first taste of this, and i have ended up with a broken hand. Anyone else suffered from this?

And yes i know poles get the same in england, so don't get defensive, just wondered if its only happened to me

I am really sorry to hear about this too. Where did this happen? Did this guy look like he was drunk or on drugs? I hope he came off worse than you...

Just wondering if you reported this to the Police and if so if they were interested in it or not...?

i don't think the police would help here much... it had happen to me and my friends in Krakow a couple of times... mostly, they are drunk guys who look for trouble... it may get dangerous so be careful.... beside, it can happen in any city...

Its the beggars that give me more grief than anyone else, and those little chaps washing car windows at traffic lights.

Thats bad luck griff, it was probably a Pole who had a bad experience in England or who's girl friend dumped him and married an English bloke.

Its because poles have an inferiority complex, british people are superior western europeans and poland owes a huge debt to britian. They owe a debt from the 2nd world war, they owe a debt to us because of us letting 1 and a half million poles into our country and they owe us billions form the money they have taken out of the EU.

Unlucky. But in truth this **** happens everywhere.

And Noimmigration, your pseudo psycho-babble if fantastc. I think you should have your own blog. No doubt you would soon become a popular modern icon, like David Irving, David Ike, Bush Jr, Paul Gadd.

Man im getting kind of tired of the british attitude tward poles around here. Would it be much better if Zog filled your little island with mexicans, africans, turks, and middle eastern garbage? Just like they do with the u.s.a. We could only hope for more great Polish people here, hard working people that actually contribute something to this country, where as all your other colors of rainbow seem to pi$$ on us and leave when they have what they need.

Although I will admit, if I wasent some polish and half my family being most polish, I would say they are some wierd people...But still, point is it could be Alot worse, trust me, from america.

I've had a similar thing on a few occassions, I wouldn't worry about it too much, The same thing would happen in the UK for no reason whatsoever, Next time kick 10 bales of **** out of him and i'm sure he won't do it again. At least if poles have a problem they seem to fight 1 0n 1 on not like the chavs in the uk that start fights only when there are 20 of them tooled up.

I agree - they say empty vessels make the most sound and old noimm sure goes rattling on and on and on ....... Lets face it though, no one takes him seriously any way.

On a night out in a Polish town with some Polish friends (who were all speaking English for my benefit), we passed some lads who started shouting something along the lines of "What language are you speaking". There were a couple of retorts from the people I was with, some in Polish, but one memorable one in English: "None of your f***ing business!"

Nothing else happened after that. But maybe if I was unfortunate enough not to be with some locals...

Sorry Griff. I think it could happen just about anywhere though, and unfortunately there's nothing you can really do about it.

Probably married to an English "plain Jane" poor chap

It really can happen anywhere Griff. I have been told in recent weeks to ****-off back home by a guy on a bus. He'd been offering me a seat but I didn't realise he was talking to me so I didn't answer. So the next thing he's barged past me and said 'why don't you ****-off back home'. This is strange because I was born here and it is my home...I suppose sometimes people also judge on appearance only and people think I look very Polish.

If that was the case then what a wimp. He chose to sort it on his own turf rather than on English soil.

However, I don't think this is the case. We get them here in England. If I wanted to be jumped on, knocked out, jaw smashed, etc then I know exactly where to go in England and thank **** that that dump is 150 miles from where I live.

Nottingham can kiss my arse!

I think "plain" is being generous to him. He's not happy with his slice of the pie so he's projecting his anger at others. It's classic inferiority complex. If he is married then I got a twenty says Mrs Nazi has a face like a Bulldog sucking p*ss off a nestle :D

Is this one of those bots that spams message boards or an actual person? I still am perplexed.

my Polish workmate was attacked by a few hoodies in Southampton just cos he was speaking Polish on the phone... so it happens everywhere. he was ok tho, just a bit scratched and bruised cos them hoodies were little sh*ts and it's taken the 4 of them to be brave enough to pick on him.

It always does take more than the one. If you were to cross one of those "hoodies" alone in the streets they wouldn't say or do a thing. They'd keep their heads down. We need to bring back National service!

Yep. That's how they do it. They're all cowards that think they're tough. It takes at least four of them, alcohol and round here they all carry knives!! We call them sh*theads!

They're known as "streetsh*t" in Nottingham. I'm glad I live where I do. Knife crime or any sort of serious crime is virtually non existent..

Our town itself is nice and we don't get a lot of sh*t but we're surrounded by sh*tty towns full of scumbags.

Just hope that they don't move in...! If you have no council estates in your town then you're safe. Keep the council estates out of your town!
