Travel / Visit to Cracow [28]

i recommend you any pub in Kazimierz (jewish district) or Pauza or Piękny pies for a start..and then or Jazz Rock (only rock music but also polish) or Prozak (house) or £ubu Dubu (70ties, 80ties, 90ties) - the good thing with £ubu dubu is that it is in a building where are 4 other clubs, so if you dont like over there you dont have to walk a long time

Anyway, if you come and need any tips or a guide, let me know...

Travel / Visit to Cracow [28]

March and April is quite ok. not so many tourists, but still a lot of students...

What you must to do:
- when it's warm, eat home made ice creams, which are sold on Starowiślna street, everybody knows it, people queue even an hour to get them..

- when it's cold: drink hot wine "grzaniec" or hot beer (I know it sounds strange but its good)
- go to Jewish district, and go to Alchemia (pub, very famous one) and then eat polish fast food: "zapiekanka ze szcypiorkiem"
- see dragon
- go to Pauza on Floriańska street (bar) and drink cherry vodka and grapefruit juice (wiśniówka z sokiem grejpfrutowym)

Larsito, what kind of music do you like? if you tell me I could recommend you a place

Life / How do Polish view others [116]

I like Germans - never had a bad experiance with them, although a lot of people from Poland will not agree with me.

I totally agree. dont know why but some of polish people dony like Germans.
but frankly speaking, I dont know if I'm strange or just I'm too exotic for Germans, but I cant make German friends. and I couldnt even when I was leaving in Germany... my friends from Germany are Australians !!

there are 3 cities especielly worth to see in Poland:
Krakow - for me the best city in Poland, livly, vibrant, loads of bars and clubs, thousends of students, and lots of thingst to see, besides very close to auschwitz and zakopane

Wroclaw - great architecture, and really beautiful marketsquare, but i dont know anything about nightlife there
Gdansk - at the seaside, with Sopot and Gdynia so called Trinity - city. great architecture and great nightlife in sopot

Life / Why do Poles drink so much? [161]

...I really hope its going to be snowing, Im sure Krakow will look even more amazing covered in snow...

Amathyst, I dont want to worry you, but you need a miracle to see snow in Krakow this winter. Right now there is no snow at all, and what is more today was plus 14 C!!! usually at this time is minus 10!!! January and February are suppoused to be the coldest month during the year, and it was like this one year ago, when in January was even minus 23 C!!!! This year no chance for that.. thanks to global worming

Travel / Krakow/Zakopane vs Gdansk - where to spend my time? [27]

I would choose Krakow and Zakopane.. my American friends were in Krakow and Gdansk, amd they told me that they prefer Krakow cuz its more vibrant and there is more fun. It depends what you want to do...

and If you think it is cold here you are wrong, I dont know whats happenned but we dont have winter at all right now.. It's windy and plus 14 C... at this time, usually is minus 10.. so as you can see global warming!

Love / Help me! I fell in love with a Polish man! [137]

guys are everywhere the same. They never call. Sometimes I'm wondering what they are doing with phone numbers, just collecting, or what? why they are taking nubers if they are not going to call??

but hey rowan, take a time.. even though that it's very easy here to fix the comp, we still have christmas break. till tomorrow. as I told you before. wait one week more, after that if he dont write or call, forget him

perhaps the cafes are all closed. I understand that there is more poverty over there and probably less cyber awareness.

cyber awareness here in Poland is the same as in UK.
not all cafes are closed, there are some open but in the bigest cities, besides it's Christmas Time and Holidays, so usually people spend them with their famillies. and if he has broken comp, he probably dont have time to look for an open cafe.

I would advise you to wait one week more

Travel / First Time to Krakow [21]

if you you are looking for something cheaper to stay then hotel, I know two very good hostels, 1 minute from, the market square. mama's hostel and flamingo hostel. over there for sure you will find lots of foreigners, mostly british, american and australians.

as for the bar, the best one is Pauza on Floriańska street. on the first floor. the problem with this bar is that it's hard to find it cuz there is no sign.. but it's really good.

anyway, english speakers are right now in every bar. you have to be very lucky if u go to bar and there will be no foreigners.

I hope that Kraków want be so popular as Prague.

Travel / Cracow over the weekend [45]

it's so annoying right now in Cracow, cuz you go to the club or bar and everybody speaks damn english. and all handsome guys are british, irish or american. I dont have nothing against that, the problem is that you cant even date with them cuz they are here only for a couple of days. I want to just point out that THIS IS NOT FAIR!!! :)
