Love / Women are divided into the same table [23]

There is a tiny percentage of people who want to be single forever. Most are on the constant quest to find someone to share life with. I think it's quite normal. Singles do lead happy, independent life until the right one comes along. (including me, I'm divorced). It is great to be alone, but not lonely.

One of my single friends was in a 3 year relationship, full of abuse and tears, but ...she did not want to be "alone". Another one is constantly out: at singles dances, clubs, bars, blind dates...so desperate, she scares off any potential candidate.

So, there many different aspects to being single. It's your inner happiness that counts, no matter what it is.

Love / Women are divided into the same table [23]

And too many people eventually end up being alone because they have to high standards and deceive themselves that someday they will find their perfect partner.

Also, dear Matyjasz...many people (mostly women, unfortunately) are stuck in a miserable relationship for fear of being alone. I don't know which one is worse...

This is so boring. Admin, maybe we could limit the long essays to 3-4 paragraphs only?

Food / is" kaszanka" a Polish speciality? [54]

Of course, I probably don't want to know what's in my keilbasa or my bratwurst!

My first trip to PL someone fed me smalec and I gagged because I didn't know what to expect.

What do you think is in Oreo cookies? Unless you don't like them either? :)

Do you know what's in the hot dog? :)

Based on the views above the EU needs a lot of work to be United.
It took a civil war in this country to be called United States. A scary thought...

Life / How do Polish view others [116]

east Europeans tend not to like each other. poles and Russians ( very similar, hate each other) Serbs and Croats (very similar, hate each other) its weird and doesn't make sense

You forgot to mention that Germans and French hate each other too.

This kind of general statements is pretty obsolete nowadays. Children are not born with their hate toward a certain nation. This comes later when some people begin to hate based on the history between the nations.

Just watch the Palestinian 5 year old boys throwing stones at Jews.

Quoting: Eurola, Post #22
Polack - offensive for a Pole

Polak - a polish man

Eurola, how is the pronunciation different?

Trust me, it sounds different when said by a polish person and way different when said by English speaking person i.e. in the movies. My American friends feel very uncomfortable pronouncing it when asked and told - it just means a polish man... :)

Because the US has some of the strictest immigration regulations in the world.

Hmm, Is this the reason we have over 11 million illegal immigrants?
The regulations might be strict but they are not enforced. If we REALLY did not want anybody to get in, we would take care of the borders with Mexico and Canada.

Setting things straight:

Pollock - some kind of fish

Polack - offensive for a Pole

Polak - a polish man

Polka - a polish woman

What a tribal fight! Latinos against the Slavs... Historically, I don't think we ever fought against each other.

All I can say, Mexican people are as hardworking and as catholic as Poles.
Jose, visit Poland. You'll feel at home.

Nope, I'm not fitting everybody in the same basket. I am happy to see polish businesses and polish last names in a corporate world. I just wish there were many, many more ambitious Poles - because we CAN.

USA, Canada / a little question about dollar [19]

I talked to my family in Poland a lot during X-mas. (Jeez, my next phone bill).
The polish zloty is very strong. Nobody wants dollars, but Euros and British pounds. Since so many people went to UK and other countries looking for jobs, the job market improved in Poland. My niece just got a great job at The Institute of Technology in Warsaw. She never wanted to leave to UK and work with a mop... I wish many more young, educated people stay in Poland.

Maati, the words are not yours, but mine. You responded to my general post, agreed with the post and now you claim the above are your words. That's called plagiarism.

Anyway, I can see your point because that's what happens in the US. Way too many highly educated people from Poland loose their ambitions and get stuck in menial jobs.

I don't see Pakistani, Indian or any Asian cleaning ladies...

As to the sex innuendos? Have fun! :)

Why Are Polish people so tolerant?

I think we are too nice and too submissive. We never believe in ourselves enough and tend to be overrun by other nationalities. There are so many of us in the world - EVERYWHERE, but we don't even have a decent representation in county or state government. Never mind the federal.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polans_(western)

This is who we are. Our borders were shifted left and right throughout centuries, our women were raped by "darker' invaders, but we're still beautiful, mostly blue eyed nation with identity of its own. A few marriages outside the group will not make us anybody different. Ever. Anyway, there is nothing wrong with a small refreshment of a gene pool.

UK, Ireland / We welcome Polish people to Britain! [224]

maybe thats why they work work work all the bloody tim. sub-hamn slav-slave idiots.

No, he is not drunk or high...he is 20 and he has a lot to learn. He enjoys instigating while hidden behind the screen. If he was walking around saying things like that, he would be very alone...well, maybe he is.

P.S. "Slava" stand for Glory.

Genealogy / Is Rafal a Polish Name? [56]

I miss the cute abbreviations in English names. You can call Joseph as Joe or Joey. Not much more...

Jozef, Jozek, Joziu, Jozio, Jozeczek, Jozuniu, Jozisko (I'm mad at him), Jozior...
OK. I'm making them up, but I can! And, it is fun. :)

Love / Are Polish men generally possessive? [51]

Yes, a lot of men think that they must be cool and aloof to be a man. I think, it is the English culture which teaches the men to be reserved and not emotional. Polish men are able to show their feelings and say their thoughts.

Love / Why are polish girls more approachable than north american girls [158]

Cyprian sounds very bitter. He was in Canada for a short time and thinks that he knows it all about N.American women based on 2 high school girls and what his "buddies" told him about them. Not admissible in this court - hear say. :)

...but now he is traumatized and scarred for life! What can I advise him?

social? dont think so, if you were social, you wouldnt be calling everyone names on here, or insulting them.

I know, you need socializing. Big time. And, relax.

Love / Why are polish girls more approachable than north american girls [158]

Cyprian, I can see that you feel hurt by some women (girls). You would love to see them just as pure angels and virgin Mary's. That's nice and romantic. But.

Well, we're not. Don't want to be.

Some are really "bad apples", but you don't need to throw out the whole bushel...

Life / Polish Girl Fashion - "less is more"? [108]

I wonder what rock this guy crawled from under. The last time I went to Poland I was actually inconspicuously pointing my camcorder at the beautiful women walking by. I wanted to show them off to my American friends...And, it was not even Warsaw or Krakow.

I'd have to go to the Magnificent mile in Chicago or Madison St in NY to see something similar!

Of course, there were some "ducklings" but they are everywhere. I would not judge all polish beauties based on that.

I could as well take a picture of some old, falling apart barn and show it to the world that that's how houses look in Poland...Didn't the "West" do it in the past?

Maybe still does...and this Danny still belong to that world.

Life / How many people really know English in Poland? [53]

About people older than 25 years old... I think most of them don't know English at all, so better try to speak to young and beauty people, just like me.

OUCH!
OK, all of you archaic people of 25 and more. Don't even try to learn English. Just forget it. Call a lawyer and make a Will. :)

I think I'm dead already. :)

Food / Recipe for Polish potato noodle stew/soup/meatball [11]

The above mixture of grated potatoes, flour and eggs, can have onion and bacon added inside and baked in the oven. It's called "babka ziemniaczana" or potato babka (kind of cake).

Yes, you squeeze the excess water.

Yummy! with cold milk! Yum!

UK, Ireland / Heavy drinking culture in the UK - is it still the same in Poland? [69]

UK is worse though because ONLY uk are more VIOLENT when drunk, poliosh not so for some reason. they are drunk n stagger home but here its fights n deaths ect

Yeah, you are more violent, no question. Perhaps, you take it after the king who was chopping off his wives heads ... OOOPS! Sorry! I couldn't help it! :)
