Genealogy / Osiek near Oswiecim records, go to Krakow or Witkowice archives? Confusion on archives in Poland [7]

Merged: Anyone live near St Andrzej's Church in Osiek?

I have a favor to ask, If anyone does live close to this Church,
I want to explain first , During the war, my uncle had recieved a letter
from two nieces (he didnt believe they were who they were) stating who
they were and they wanted to come live with him, because their parents had
died. MY Grandmothers sister Married a French soldier. This is what was told by
one family member who says my great Uncle told her. of course all these folks
are gone. as they are older, except the one who told me, she is alive in a nursing home
now. she said that her father didnt respond, but that the letter had said that they
were living with the Organists of the church they went to in france. apparently he had
been raising them. we dont know when their parents died, because no one saved these
letters.
to get on with this story. Ive been tracing and tracking my family since 2001. and I have
alot of info, but the one thing the priest didnt give me was my Aunt Elizabeths husbands
name or last name. who she married. I have the Marriage date, and her name, and
that is it. I could probably find this family if I had the last name of who she married which
is in the church, I have had a time communicating with the former Priest who had done
the genealogy. he was so helpful. All i need is the last name of her husband for my
great Aunt. the marriage date was 10/5/1922 she was born 1902.

Any help to call the church (only if you are close to it) would be sooooooooo
Appreciated.
as it stands now, no one knew that they had tried to contact the family, had my
grandmother known, she would have had them come here, but because it was my
great Uncle and his wife was very awkward and mean, (his wife) I believe he would have wrote to them, but we have heard stories, and unfortunately they are still like this and

wont even help me, and we do know them. they just are very inward family and it
dont make sense, but I dont care to make sense of strange, when all i want is to find
my aunts childrens family, which might still be in france, maybe back in poland or in the
UK even. her name was elzbieta Luranc. or Elizabeth Luranc Slub 10/5/1922.
married at St. Andrzej's in Osiek, Malopolskie Poland.

also, I questioned why he would not have included his name when he sent me this
but, still no answer. if anyone could contact the church and just give me her husbands
last name that would be awsome. my one wish was to have all the family included in
our family history as much as possible. if they cant be found I cant control this, but
I feel horrible that my great uncle would not even acknowledge a letter that was
probably them. my thoughts are that it was, because you cant write letters to someone
if you dont know what the address was , if they had their mothers belongings, they had to have had his address in the belongings.

Please any help out there in or near Osiek, Malopolskie?

Patrycja aka patty

I had received a reply , BUT NOT WHAT i WANTED TO HEAR. they said that the records
for that area I was looking at (Nowogrod ) K Lomza was not available. so my searches
stopped for a while. I decided to go to the other archives. I think I have it correct, but
also wanted to verify.

Love / Rules for dating Polish girls [189]

Ladies and Gentlemen, can I ask, because as I was growing up, did not anyone
hear the Parents talking, or saying to the females of the group, when you date
find one who is got a good job, or money? and can take care of you?

we make decisions for ourselfs as we get older, do we want money or love?
and gentlemen, when you were growing up , or learning about women, did you
not hear the older ones saying , watch what you do son, they only want your money!

I heard this, I didnt believe it, you know why? because I did my own thing.
it is better to say I loved then to say I have never loved.

you meet someone who is clearly not for you and wants money, you will know this
people do use people, it happens. it is sad, but dont take it all to heart and say
I will not try again, I will do like what happened to me. then the vicious circle happens
again and again.

I used to go out to clubs, see alot of that happening, I stepped back and watched
( I had fun) but I didnt let some good looking guy walk up and take my number. we
all know what was on his mind. (not that it wouldnt have been good) but I wanted
fun, and I wanted self respect. This goes for both men and women. dont let a pretty
face lure your wallet into their hands. Step back, watch, you will feel better knowing
that you made more friends along the way. I met my best friend and husband.

And guys, when you do go out, flashing money is not smart in any way. you are
a target for sure.
Girls, when you are asked to dance, dont accept the first one , tell them maybe next
one, this will show them that you are not so eager and set the night in a different
direction :)

:)

BTW Spiritus :) glad to see ya on board :)

OK everyone, that post sounded old, but, I am not really old, I am just settled I guess
but I know/remember the dating scene, and it is hard. just hoping the best for everyone.

Love / Rules for dating Polish girls [189]

Bolo, of course in a club, the atmosphere is great for flirting , especially under the
influence of alcohol :) lol

When I used to go out / I would rip the dance floor up :) at times I had fun approaching
the guys. <~for fun, but only joking with them, they knew this, just making small
conversation.
I never had a good time every time I went out. there were always some really
stupid things I had done, like driving home 10 mph on a 45 mph road. and then
the next day wondered how the heck I got home! found myself on the floor in
my bathroom or one leg off the bed, hoping that would help the spinning.
One night I thought someone broke into my house, and it was me falling into the
desk and all my glass nicknacks hit the floor, all the "fun" I had involved drinking.
and well occasionally "you know".<~were all human.

a good time dont have to involve sex, I am not saying I am innocent, but was never
out for that one thing when I went out, it was mainly for me. I didnt want to take
advantage of anyone, because I didnt need to. I payed for my own drinks, yes I had
many a drinks sent to my table. but I was out with my friends, we did some really
stupid things together and some really fun things together.

I can tell you, without shame, my husband was a dream from across the room.
when i first met him, I had always hoped we would have more. we clicked from
the beginning, People used to ask us if we were GF/BF and we would just say no.

his first smile was melting. yes, I did have my fun. but always kept him in sight, but
I didnt smother, he didnt either. we both say now, how we both snatched each
other and fight over who was right lol.

Bolo, your handsome, sometimes girls Might
feel like maybe they would not have a chance
with you because of your very handsome looks. this does scare a woman.
my husbands friend has same handsome looks, and when we were all going out
to the club. girls would come up to me and say, he is stuck on himself isnt he?

I never thought so many would see him that way, but they do. I dont see him that
way, so many said he was stuck on himself, and it wasnt true, he was looking for
his soul mate, he had her pictured in his mind, but had not found her. so his
standards were very high, but he still was having his fun.

if you see where I am getting at bolo, today my husbands friend now comes over
hoping to one day have a wife and children like my husband, and he still has
this picture in his head of what she will look like, while having his fun. yet he is
still alone. he still goes out to "have fun" he doesnt get the looks he used to
and is now very very low self esteem.

your very handsome, you should not have any trouble finding the right girl who
isnt worried about what is in your wallet.

they dont seem to make an effort to intergrate and speak our language

Jem, do you speak their language? I am sure most are learning and most do know english
are you making any efforts to intergrate with them? your sure whining about it
enough.:)

So no one who is english says anything bad to any of these polish groups of men
who stand around looking hostile and drinking vast amounts of booze and all the
fighting comes from the Polish?

I highly doubt that one. its amazing how these fights are always one sided.
"smack" "go to your room!

Life / Poles need to learn to save! [73]

desperatley need everyones spent paper towels for my time of the month

Nita, the one thing we all should learn as we grow up is common sense.
something you are lacking at the moment which tells your age.

I do hope you stop the childish antics soon, because Karma always finds itself.

if you are older, well, that goes without saying, dont come in here acting like you are
American and pretending you are and playing games.
we all know there is still children trying to get on the intranet, it is unfortunate that
you found your mommys password .

Life / What breeds of dogs are now popular in Poland? [40]

Poland or less-developed countries dogs eat what they should - more raw meat, natural foods and less junk foods/granules that are making the dog fat and dumb

omg, now were resorting to dog bashing lol.

mine eats granule food, but his food is balanced. soon as I gave him meat he became
sick. raw chicken carries the bird flu- not saying that would happen, but why chance it
ehh?

raw cow has "mad cow disease" again, why chance it?? my dog is utmost important
friend in my world, he dont talk back, and he snuggles with me daily.

yes they can gain weight , but if you excercise them, that is all water under the
bridge.

I have a mutt . he is Part Cocker Spaniel, and Beagle.
he sings with us, he howls at the trains, and he tells me when squirrels are on the
porch (I didnt listen) he ate our pumpkin!

bad momma I was. anway, dogs- Any Breed, I love emm all!!

Life / What breeds of dogs are now popular in Poland? [40]

now that sounds cute, both really sweet looking dogs...

shelly, he is adorable, plus, on his ears (this attracted me to him) was he has the
cocker spaniel coat, so his ears have a slight bit of hair hanging off them, when I took
him to get him groomed , I told the lady to not cut these off, as they add to his
character.

we bought him from humane society, the really work so well with them. but all the
things he knows now, some we didnt teach, is pretty amazing, he has shown he is
a winner daily.

Life / Polish Parents are controlling [58]

Frank, this is excactly what I was referring to when I spoke of off topics.

out of general discussions of poland comes real life , real people, real feelings.

I like the fact that this forum lets people be who they are, when they need
to say something , someone is there.

Krysia, my mom did the same things, when I lived with her, it gets better.
but now I dont have my mom any more to say anything to me, no arguments, no
hugs, no smiles, no anything.
I lost her in 2002. since then, many things have come up, that I wish I had her hand
to hold, she comforted me in alot of ways, yet we fought under the same roof.

then when I had my own roof to sleep under, she would ask me to come over, and
I didnt come over often enough when she was well for us to spend time.

I dont think she is doing it intentionally, there might be other things bothering her
too, maybe you two should sit and talk, just tell her what she wants to hear, because
I cant tell my mom anymore.

Hugs Patrycja.

Life / Polish Parents are controlling [58]

Krysia :) Warm Hugs :)

Kochaj serce matki, póki jest przy tobie,
bo za późno będzie wtedy, kiedy będzie w grobie".

Krysia

I know this has a very sentimental meaning, can you translate?

You have to look ahead because we will all die and the pitiful things that we're going through on Earth mean nothing against the vast universe.

this is so true.

I miss her alot, one time, I cried after I heard a song playing on the radio and it
reminded me of her, I couldnt see to drive. so I pulled over and sobbed harder then
when she died at her funeral.

it was like the reality set in, and when she was sick and the doctor said to me
because I was her advocate, to let her go, my selfish side came out and i said, I
only want to hear her voice a little longer. I knew what was right, but couldnt
sign the paper.

there are so many things we are faced with. and we think we are brave and
can do most anything .

but when I was faced with that paper. I became a child again, I was no longer the
rational adult. I was a small child, selfish , wanting my mother.

I am glad you saw a different light.

Ps. give your mom a hug from me too :) all moms need hugs :))

PPS. Now im going to cry myself to sleep.

News / American Interests in Poland [6]

What Interests American, Irish, British, etc about poland?
the Culture? the history? Other?

For me its a great deal of things. mostly the history, I am 3rd Generation so
it was unfortunate that I wasnt taught the culture, even though it was very
much a part of our familys life when my Grandmother was alive, when she died
it died along with her.

should have refrased the title to international Interests in Poland.

well you all get the point anyway :)

awww geese at least one post would do :) lol

I know American interest is growing. alot in the history , there are some
difficulties with families connecting with their roots. I seen Promise in this area
but not only with Poland, all over europe. ancestry is growing here, many have
discussed problems with finding their families in Poland, but not so much other
areas.

MY thoughts on this was that Students who are working their way thru college should
take up this task, charge a reasonable fee, and get the information that is needed.
it would not only help these college students, but the person who is looking and
cant make the trip to poland.

but there would have to be a base in each area. because of travel reasons.
man I dont even live there, but I have it all figured out!!

lol.
ps. I would be American base.
anyone care to share thoughts on this? bad Idea?? yes/ no

Ps. off to work. Have great day.
