if one has polish citizenship then one is Polish no matter where they live.

Are you kidding? Anyone can get a citizenship, Olisadebe has a citizenship and sorry but he's not Polish.

According to Polish law, if you have Polish blood you're Polish. That's just the law. To me, you're truly Polish if you're born in Poland, other wise you're just an American with a Polish background.

IMO too many foreigners are buying Polish housing and jacking the prizes up and forcing the current Poles to move out in order to have other dumb foreigners move in and over pay. Foreigners buying out housing, foreigners buying out lands, foreigners buying out farms.... soon they'll be nothing left for Poles.

OK and the "ski" on my name must be American.

Well "ski" doesn't mean it's Polish. It's common for people of Slavic descents to have their last names ending with ski.

If not for communist takeover my family would not be denied their Polish heritage. I always thought once I contacted Poland and let them know I am here and have missed them, they would feel the same. Silly me as it seems we are a threat to there property and never given a second thought.

What does this even mean????

Were your parents communist collaborators... is that why they moved and that's why you don't seem to be welcomed in Poland???

you say that if one has polish blood then one is polish.. how much of this blood has to be polish? there is no such thing as pure polish person. look into it if you don't believe me.

The whole Polish blood law is old and stupid. If you're born in the US, you're an American. If you're born in Angola, you're an Angolan. If your parents happen to have been born in Poland then that would make you an Polish-American...

You're born in the US, Canada or wherever. Why not respect the place of your birth??? why denounce the country of your birth by just acting like you're all Polish but not Polish-Americans??

Not many Poles in GA, I'm afraid. About the same or less than in Florida..

Obviously he isn't looking for millions upon millions of Poles. There are plenty of Poles living in Georgia.

Does anyone know of a place in Georgia (near Atlanta) where she could go and meet other Poles?

Well, Georgia is a large place. Could you be a little more specific on where in Georgia they live??? The name of the city would help... ;)

Life / Whats gay life in Poland? [140]

Does that mean polish people live in fear (closet) or the lifestyle is not tolerated by the general public. Most countries around the world have come to be more liberal, why is it that the Poles havent caught up with the rest of the free world?

Well in most cases Poles live is fear not from the general public but from their families, especially the grandparents, the old fashioned members. My cousin came out 2 years ago that she's gay. Everyone know but our grandmother. She was afraid of coming out because she feared how our grandma would take it.

Most countries what???? dude come on. Being gay you're still looked down upon in most places in the world. I'm sure all of Africa welcomes gays, not to mention Asia. Eastern Europeans love gays too... come on. You're a fool. You started with a great question, but then took a cheap and very ignorant jab at Poland. Not cool man.

Could you elaborate on this a little bit? Sounds interesting.

Less and less people are using the Polish language. Look around in Poland, more and more you see English words incorporated into Polish. Most soccer announcers in Poland, instead of calling it spalony they say offside and so on.
