Work / Chances of finding engineering job in Pomorskie region [2]

Hi everyone, I'm currently in my second year of university studies, studying civil engineering (Inzynier Budownictwa) at the Virginia Military Institute(ranked 9th best CE program in the US). I am planning to move back to Gdansk after I graduate college. I was born there and return every other year on vacation and every time I return the city pulls me in more and more. Now I am also dating a girl from Gdansk that I have known for a long time and am set on moving back. I've looked through several of these polish internet job searches but that really isn't going to help me find the job i am looking for... do any of you think that I will be able to find a job opening in Gdansk/Gdynia/Sopot in my field straight out of university? If so how would I go about finding such a job? Any other information regarding this topic would be greatly appreciatted as well...thoughts?

o and I speak polish, i can also read and write but not at a professional level...my english is supurb.

I dont know, the situation in Gdansk is much better than most of the country. AVG GDP is higher and unemployment is below 10%....depends where you look at in Poland...to me the social life in Gdansk is/was amazing...

Life / Cost of text messages in poland [7]

if you have cingular it goes like this, if you have a text message plan, any international text counts as two texts. If you do not have a plan, every domestic text is 10 cents and international is 20 cents. It Poland Smsi NIE SOM ZADARMO. They cost VERY cheap however in poland domestic texts is like 3 groszy...whereas a text to the US from poland costs my gf 20 groszy!

read this story...even though it is about the increase in plastic surgery patients in Poland it talks of the ever increasing size of the middle class and increase in salaries in Poland over the years. Within 10 years I'd say that Polish salaries will be equlivilent to western standards

Hell just walk around on Dluga/Dluga Targ and you'll find plenty of pubs, all the restaurants there speak english as well. And you'll even find some good pubs for tourists.

Love / Advice on going out with my girlfriend in Gdansk? [9]

Well...my girlfriend and I's favorite restaurant was on Dluga (the nicest+most romantic street in Gdansk) it was called Sphinx and it isn't too expensive. After exploring the town you can go to the Multikino which is right across from the train station, very nice inside there.
