Life / Somebody from abroad married a Polish in Poland? [18]

I and my fiancé(he is a polish gentleman with polish citizenship) plan to get marriage in Poland in this summer.

We both live in Poland right now.We got a paper about documents we must prepare from the local government in Poland.

There is one document i must have, but they didn't tell me from where i can get and if i can not get, what i should do.The polish name of the document is'document stwierdzajacy moznosc zawarcia malzenstwa wedlug prawa ojczystego'.

Does anybody know about this?I am waiting for the information from you especially those who got marriage in poland already.

Thanks.

In my opion,if you don't know or understand this person,i would suggest DO NOT give any judgement and commends.

I do not care about anything about work rights in EU,when i was in China ,i had good education and good job with good salary.I bought a big house which is about 120 square meter 3 years ago.I would say life in China is much comfortable for me than in europe.I am with my fiance 2 years already, because my fiance won't be able to find very good-paying job in China just now after he finish his master, the best choce for us is that i came to poland and study again .For myself, after master, probably i will continue my PHD or start to work.

With the growth of globalization, the movement of people between different country is a quite normal thing,if you have been to china, you will know how many foreigners work in china now,did we say sth to offense them?so far,we always say people should have a open mind.

Anyway,thanks for your attention.

the love i mean it's a universe love . It's difficulty to come true, but it's enought if more and more people will understand it. However, sometimes i feel sad because i know people will never give up selfish, anger ,attachment and......EGO.....

[quote=Crow] they would learn one day in distant future, they would learn

You are completely right, and anyway this is some kind of hope, right?

Sometimes I think people may have too small contact about philosophy and they even do Not want to get down to think what's the wonderful value in their life and what's the most important thing they should achieve.

Ego,selflish and hate can not give people any REAL happiness, only some moment feeling...

Its pretty popular here in the US also

Frankly , the Chinese food in US or EU are not the same as in China because of lacking of spice and vegetables . There is really a big difference, I had been to chinese restaurants in EU, but I didn't find sth is really the same taste as in China, so I prefer cook by myself and I enjoy cooking.

Life / Cultural adaptation in Poland, which stages are you falling into? [11]

The idea of posting such a topic is comes from my recent thoughts. I am Chinese and grew up in Chinese culture background; I do deeply love my culture and also like enjoying different culture especially since I live in Poland. There are people from different countries in Polish Forum, from the posts I have read during few months, I realize that the cultural difference sometimes may bring misunderstanding and even conflicts. I think this is also one reason why there are sometimes many offensive words appear which toward other culture or nations they are not involved.

I am interested in philosophy and culture, I had studied philosophy in China and got my BA, soon I will finish my MA in Poland. I just post some basic things about culture adaptation here, if someone feels it is interesting and you can have a look. I also would like to make friends with those who are interested about philosophy and culture (you always can send me message from PF).It’s my pleasure to discuss sth about philosophy and culture.

Here are:

Cultural adaptation is not off/on phenomenon. Like many other human abilities it develops through stages. A good form of developmental thinking can be illustrated with the concept of cultural shock. This concept gained complexity as it was described in terms of U or W curves extending through time.

Ethnocentric and Ethno relative Stages are divided into 6 parts: Denial, Defense, Minimization, Acceptance, Adaptation, and Integration.

DENIAL
People at the denial stage are unable to make cultural differences in complex way. Either they do not perceive cultural differences at all or they can conceive only of broad categories such as ‘foreigner’, ‘people of colour’, ‘Africans’.

DEFENSE
People at the defence stage have more ability to construe cultural difference, but they attach negative evaluations to it.

People in defence consider themselves under siege. Their defence is characterised by the polarization of a denigrated ‘them’ with a superior ‘us’.

MINIMIZATION
People at the minimization stage try to bury cultural differences within already-familiar categories of physical and philosophical similarity. They recognize and accept superficial cultural differences such as eating custom but they assume that deep down all people are essentially the same-just human. As a consequence of this assumption, certain cultural values may be mistaken for universal desires.

ACCEPTANCE
People at the acceptance stage enjoy recognizing and exploring cultural differences. They are aware that they are cultural beings. They are fairly tolerant of ambiguity and are comfortable knowing there is no right answer (although they are better answers for particular contexts).

At this stage, people have moved beyond ethnocentric rules for behaviour and may not yet have developed ethnorelative principles for taking action.

ADAPTATION
People at the adaptation stage use knowledge about their own and others’ cultures to shift into a different cultural frame of reference. Most people at this stage are intercultural sensitive; they can apply skills of empathy and adaptation of behaviour to any cultural context.

Sometimes they are good at shifting between the two cultures they have internalized but they cannot apply the same skills to other culture (or groups they do not consider cultures-e.g.-gay).

INTEGRATION
People at the integration stage are attempting to reconcile the sometimes-conflicting cultural frames that they have internalized. They are inclined to interpret and evaluate behaviour from a variety of cultural frames of reference, so that there is never a single right or wrong answer. People in integration face the unending task of guiding their own behaviour along the ethical lines that they themselves have created.

According to my small investigation of my polish friends and friends from other countries, Majority of my friends fall into the ACCEPTANCE and MINIMIZATION stage, and then ADAPTATION. But the result may be different if make an investigation among common society.

So, which stages are you falling into?

Life / Asian and Polish culture - how do they compare? [24]

if a polish person and an asian person were to be friends, would they have so many cultural differences that it'd be a problem?

From my own experience, it won't be problem if two person know well about both countries'culture and respect both culture.

If talk about Chinese culture and Polish culture, I can feel some common cultural features in both countries, for example, polish are more circle style than linear style , which is more similar to Chinese culture than western european culture; another intesting thing I found is that polish have similar behavior when they invite guests to home...

Law / Setting up a Chinese Language School in Poland - good business idea? [41]

As I know, there are at least 3 chinese language schools in Warsaw, the market is not as big as english language school, but it is not so small as many people think, there are group of poles speak Chinese, even quite well, from my experience, within 2 months, I met 5 poles who speak chinese very well, and ofcouse, all of them speak english too.

Many poles I know would like to learn chinese, but the fee of learning chinese is much expensive than fee of learning english, for example, in Warsaw, 60 hours of engish course cost around 600 zloty, while 60 hours of chinese course cost around 1600 zloty.

By the way, I am a chinese who living in Warsaw.
