Travel / Visiting Krakow in December, what do you think? [24]

I think that it is a good time to visit, during the winter that is.

You don't have the crowds of tourists, you can visit Zakopane if you have time, some christmas Carols in the square maybe, a little Christmas atmosphere.

Less tourists would be the big advantage.

Just be careful you don't get stranded at the airport by the weather.

Language / Accent marks in Polish language [22]

I have a question about ę in particular.

Is it pronounced or not pronounced at the end of a word?

Like się, myślę, etc.

dziękuję(I have said this enough to know it is not pronounced but is it the same for all words?)

Some people tell me to pronounce it while other don't. What was thought in school? And what is the proper way to speak so I don't look like a fool? Better to get it right now than learn how to speak incorrectly.

Thanks

Language / Pan or Pani? Do we have to be formal in the UK? [22]

ppl are informal as they appreciate us trying to learn the lingo.

Sorry, I thought you were a native Polish speaker. I think it is ok for a learner.

Life / Comics about Poland [9]

Is it true that adults buy comics in Poland?

This video doesn't support my point but it is nice.

Love / Personal issues with two women, they want to be my friend - a Polish thing? [49]

phoning someone up daily to tell them that they miss you is

I would say that they are more than likely very needy(emotionally), they constantly need a man's attention to feel good about themselves. Such a tactic of not pretending it is a relationship and that you are only friends is a way of protecting themselves also, you can't really dump them, well you can but it won't hurt them as bad.

I would agree that it isn't a Polish thing.

Anyway a woman who is so needy is bordering on being ill in my humble opinion, extremely poor self esteem etc.

Do they all know about each other? What would happen if you talked about one of them to the other one? I think that the one you are talking to may leave you alone because it would be the 2nd woman getting the attention and not them.

Language / Meaning of letters in online polish dictionary? [11]

polish.slavic.pitt.edu/~swan/beta/

Thanks for your help, I tried inputed być and jechać into the above link but I got very little information back.

In the table I linked I recognise the normal conjugations but not others.
I am interested to know what they are. It would be a very useful table if I could understand what the letters stood for. I could look up the grammatical definition and explanation in English.

Language / Meaning of letters in online polish dictionary? [11]

I think that this is sarcasm but in case it isn't I don't expect you to research anything, thanks. Someone else on the forum may know the answer without doing any research or I can ask someone else. Thanks. Eventually I will understand it anyway if I spend enough time on grammar.

Love / My Polish girlfriend checks my mobile phone all the time [70]

Could this thread be:

My English girlfriend..............
My Spanish girlfriend........... etc.

Should it be sent to Off topic lounge, deletable? It isn't unique to Poland. It hasn't anything specific to do with relationships in Poland as far as I can see, it is just about relationships.

Anyway, I wouldn't be happy if my girlfriend didn't trust me and I would dump her.
