USA, Canada / PHONE CARDS FROM POLAND to N. AMERICA? [2]

Last time I went to Europe, I bought a brand name card, I think it was AT&T or MCI. So I was able call back home from Europe using card I bought in USA.

I don't know about now, it was couple of years ago, but they gave you a list of country you are colling from, and what number to call to connect. At that time Poland was not on a list.

I was in France, Switzerland and Italy, and I had no problems.

USA, Canada / Is it normal for some polish parents living in America to be abusive? [3]

Just by looking at one family and assuming that everybody is that way is called stereotyping.
If you look around, you will find same situations in any nationality. Recently in Austria a man was found having his daughter locked up in a basement for 20 years and he had children with her. So by your assumptions, we can think that all Austrians have daughters locked up in basements?

Same thing in America, how many battered woman shelters are here in American? How many abused children run away from homes every year?

So just because you see one, you can't assume all are like that. There are bad people and there are good people in every nationality and every race.

News / What if Poland has decided to withdraw from the European Union? [54]

This is not a secret that eurocrats plan to build common army. One could wonder what would be the purpose of such army if we already have NATO?

Google:
"new world order"
for the answer, including quotes.

Poland's total aid was 5 billion euros net from the EU budget last year, more than any other EU new member state.

That might seem a lot, but that is just a drop compared to the whole national budget. Polands debt, just the debt, in 2007, it grew by another 45 billion zloty ($18 billion). Thats already after EU contribution.

Total Poland's public debt has already exceeded 500 billion zloty.

Life / Polish Work Ethics: One guy working, 5 others watching? [19]

Where is this...? i would like to see this.....!

Just last week, my neighborhood had a power outage, and several trucks from our local power company, PG&E, came over and they were digging up the street. When I drove by, I saw four big trucks parked on the street, about five or six guys standing on the street right on the edge of the hole they dug up, and one guy was in the hole with the shovel digging.

Law / Linux, Unix, and Open Source in Poland [119]

there is a reason why it is open source as the majority of the software around just tries to copy what is all ready out there.

Every body copies everybody, Macintosh copied GUI (Graphical User Interface) from Xerox labs. Xerox did not have enough vision to see what they had, and they allowed Macintish to use it. Than Windows jumped on the band wagon and made their own version of GUI.

And what is Windows NT but a copy of what BSD/ Linux were already able to do for servers before NT came out?

And if the Open Souce is copying other software, why was Xerox labs back in 70's was using UNIX to develop heir GUI on? Why did Macintish switch their OS and all OsX are based on BSD. And why did Micro$oft use BSD on their most used site "Hotmail"? Because NT did not have enough power to handle amount of traffic that Hotmail generates. Not untill recently did they swich to mostly Micro$oft code, but still not 100%

And there is a reason why 90% of internet servers are BSD / Linux based; power, reliability, security. And that is something that Micro$oft tries to copy.
